  1. So you trade Urlacher...and replace him with what exactly? We have nothing to repalce Urlacher with, and there is nothing we can draft or get in free agency that will come close to his level of play, declined though it may be from years past. It would be different if we had another young middle linebacker waiting in the wings...but we have nothing. I just don't see the value in trading him to replace him with bad...
  2. Add to that Pace will be back starting at Left Tackle (WTF??!! Why for eff's sake??) and you have an offense that might struggle for a change...
  3. My Lord...what brand of kool-aid are you drinking? Because I would need a whole hell of a lot of it to start thinking the game will even be close, let alone a victory...
  4. Decent against the Rams? How so? We loaded up to stop Stephen Jackson and he still had 117 yards rushing...Not even close to decent against a bad team like the Rams. Just like after the Browns game I am wondering how a win can feel so much like a loss...
  5. you think we can get 10 points? I think it more likely Jared Allen has 10 sacks and Cutler gets knocked out for the year...
  6. Cower made Kordell Stewart a Super Bowl/Pro Bowl QB...He can do just fine with a talent like Cutler especially if he teaches the OL to spit in the DL's faces like he does to everyone he talks to...
  7. Yeah...I didn't see a win in SF, and I really don't see Lovie dialing up any kind of D to beat Mcnabb...this could be ugly Eagles 38 Bears 17
  8. Unaware? How the f**k can the head coach be unaware of who is in the game on the most important drive of the season? What the hell else did he have to worry about at the time? His dry cleaning? That is just effing pathetic...
  9. Now I am as mad at Cutler as the next guy, but technically he is 2 for 5 in game winning drives...Winning against Seattle and Pittsburgh and losing to Atlanta, GB, and SF
  10. That isn't just an issue...it is THE issue in my eyes. Fix the running game and you take pressure off Cutler. Take pressure off Cutler and maybe he doesn't feel the need to force things to make a play because he knows it's all on him. The OL sucks, yes no question...but Forte looks bad...real bad...no pop, no vision, slow, and he is just not hitting the hole (when there is one) strong like he did last year. Something is wrong with him this season and Turner\Lovie don't seem to be able to fix it.
  11. And 41 yards on 20 carries just rocks too...
  12. I don't see a win here. I hope I am wrong, but I really don't see how we can stop Frank Gore after Hightower, Wells, and the 32nd ranked AZ rushing attack kicked our ass last week. Alex Smith may be bad, but our D is worse and we will not pressure him into mistakes. I see this one being close, but the 49'ers winning by 4. Bears lose 24-20
  13. From what I saw they were in cover 2 on every 3rd and long...and AZ was at one point 8 for 8 on 3rd down...and yet every 3rd and long Lovie rolled it out there...Hell AZ nearly got the 3rd and 25 from their own goal line at the end of the game, missing by inches. Lovie is as pathetically predictable as Turner is, and I for one am glad he took over play calling duties because he is failing miserably. It gives me a small (tiny) glimmer of hope that the Bears will see him for what he is and fire his cover 2 loving a$$ and bring in someone with an imagination who can put players in the best possible situation to succeed and not force the team to play schemes that they don't have the players to run.
  14. I am in the same boat. My 6 year old son is screaming and throwing things like I usually would be, but I kind of expected this to be honest. Smith is just not a good coach and his scheme is pathetic. Time to move on.
  15. I am disgusted...I am sorry but Lovie really needs to be fired tomorrow because he cannot coach. The D is flat, uninspired and he is getting outclassed. His scheme is pathetic and he cannot figure out how to double cover anyone. Arizona seems to be managing to cover our recievers with 2 or 3 people each and we can't. Time for him to go. We can't do any worse with an interim coach than we are with him.
  16. I was going to post this article too, but figured either Nfo or Jason would beat me too it...this is probably the most damning thing against Angelo in my eyes, and grounds for his termination at the end of this year... It is just plain ridiculous how much he has ignored the Oline and wasted picks on players who are fringe special teamers at best and burger flippers at worst...
  17. The most likely candidates for the 2010 Bears head coach in order: Lovie Smith Lovie Smith Lovie Smith I just don't see them firing him and owing 11 million while shelling out 6+ million per for guys like those on your list. It just isn't happening. We are stuck with Lovie no matter how much we want otherwise.
  18. Lovie says there is no hurry because they do not need the roster spot...in other words no one else is being brought in so why bother IR'ing him...not that I agree, but that is what he said. I read that in one of the chalk talks from the official website.
  19. What do you expect him to do? Lovie does not throw anyone under the bus, even Shea was supported during the season before being canned in the offseason. If Turner is here next year, then you can complain, but during the season, Lovie just does not throw anyone under the bus.
  20. I don't think Bellichick's contract details have ever been released, at least I remember hearing that and have never seen them. No matter if he is the highest paid or not, 5.5 million for Lovie and his .500 record the past 3 years is revolting...more so than paying Tommie Harris anything more than minimum wage for his horrible play. No way are we going to see any kind of quality coach next year...or the year after for that matter...we are stuck with him and his .500 record.
  21. One thing I will blame Angelo for is his insistence of adding OL via FA instead of building through the draft. His philosophy of finding cheap parts via the scrap heap has not workwed, and it has put us at least 3 years away from having a good young OL, maybe 4 or 5 based on the fact that we have zero 1st day picks this coming draft. That is all on Angelo and his philosophy, and it is a real big reason for our team's current struggles. I know I am preaching to the choir with you on the OL, but Angelo deserves more heat than he has been getting lately for that reason alone.
  22. I think the big drop off came when Roach was moved to the middle. It just doesn't look like he can get us in the right position like Urlacher did, and Hilly did after that. Hilly may not be "special", but we didn't seem to be out of position when he was making the calls and adjustments. Many times on Sunday I saw Roach trying to make an adjustment as the ball was being snapped, and as such we had guys out of position, and not ready for the play to start, getting a late jump on the ball. No way should Roach still be making the calls this Sunday. Hilly is just smarter and needs to be in the middle making those calls the rest of the way if he is not injured.
  23. Well I have to defend Wolfe a bit, because on one of those 2 sacks he gave up, the Pucker LB Chiller just made one hell of a play and hurdled him. I don't know that I can really fault Wolfe for that. I watched that one 3 times on the DVR because it was just freakish. And in the Falcons game Wolfe planted one of their LB's on a blitz. I don't see Wolfe as being a blitz pickup liability.
  24. At this point a stick and a half filled bucket would be an upgrade...
