Down goes Frazier!!!!! Peace

Ok so I'll drop the Forte discussion. I agree our offense has been very bad during that time. Would you not agree, however, that our defense has been very good during that time? Peace
-
Hey dude, please show some respect. I don't care who you are, I don't appreciate you calling someone else on the site a tool. Peace
-
Yes but that took a bit of time. For some reason I feel you are dead set on nitpicking everything the front staff does. I have no issues with that but I am not going to play the back and forth game. Peace
-
Not going to give a detailed reply. I grade out the draft at a B- (I think this is the same score NFO gave). I am disappointed we did not address QB or OG but very happy with everything else we did. After spending several posts the other night trying to convince you that Forte is not being brought in to play FB, I don't feel like having another argument. Peace

They made him an offer that evidentally he declined. Leave the offer on the table but don't increase it - the offer is more than fair in my opinion. Peace

Ditto on the nice job Ashkum. I think we carry 4 rbs and 1 FB this yr with a FB on the practice squad if necessary. Peace

Does Anyone Know Whats With The Chris Williams BACK Issue
Connorbear replied to a topic in Bearstalk
I agree adding that Williams being the most complete tackle at this point (compared to Clady and Williams). Peace -
He is a FA now so we can get him if we want him. Personally, I would pass. I have never been impressed. Peace
-
I would love to see him give us the output of Neil Anderson. Peace
-
I definately see Monk being put on IR. Manning JR is going to be traded to someone needing CB depth. I would be happy if we can get a 5th for him. Peace

I would say up the point sweaty Teddy hired Angelo you are right. Since that time we have been in the playoffs 3 times and the SB once. Angelo does an extremely good job with talent on the defensive side of the ball (Tillman, Briggs, Vasher, Anderson, Hillenmeyer, T Harris, A Brown, McBride, etc). He also has done well with special teams. His weakness has been on the offensive side of the ball and specifically at QB. I recognize that this may eventually be his downfall. I am hoping he can right the ship. I dislike the McCaskeys as much as the next Bears fan but I recognize the fact they realized they were screwing up big time and gave control of the team to sweaty Teddy. Peace

Agreed and half of those QBs taken in the first round end up busting. We have had such a crappy run of QB luck that we need to consider all options going forward. Peace
-
Very true, however, going forward the Bears need to consider all options. No one can dispute we have been miserable with handling the QB position. They must fix this. Peace

The draft is over and the Bears did not address QB until afterwards with Hanie and Hill. Let's discuss what they should do now. My thoughts: - Rex and Kyle are going to battle it out for starter. Whomever wins out gets extended if they succeed. - Wait for FA Qbs to hit the market from teams like Tampa (Simms, McCown, and Gradkowski may all be released) and bring in a 3rd stringer. - Put Hill and Hanie both on the practice squad. We have 8 spots and 1 to 2 should be devoted to QB going forward. Going forward, the Bears should bring in an asst QB coach (we have an asst DB coach, why not one for our most important position). Finally, the Bears organization should hire a scout who will specifircally work on identifying QB talent going forward (I believe that Controlled Chaos has mentioned this on several occasions). Thoughts? Peace

Thanks. Prophet - my apologies. You learn something new everyday. Peace

Not to be a pain in the arse, but have you ever heard of Tony Romo????? Peace
-
Dude - his contract is no where near what Brian got. I do not see this as an issue. What were they supposed to do - confer with Brian beforehand?? They are not trading Url. They offered him a 1 yr extension with 5 million now a 1 million for each yr. They have done more than they need to do for now. Peace
-
Just wanted to clarify - thanks. Peace

Who are you directly this to? If it's me then I will address after 5 pm tonight (have to head to work). Peace

We absolutely could carry 2 QBs with 2 on the practice squad. If one gets nabbed by another team, you pull the onto the 53 man roster immediately. Although, I don't see that happening. Maybe once a yr you lose a player of your practice squad to another team. Peace

I'm sorry. I simply could not see us taking a QB in the top 3 rounds. We had too many other needs to address to allow for that. The only QB I was upset we did not draft (after the top 4 were gone) was Johnson. I would have taken him in the 5th instead of Bowman. Obviously, the Bears staff felt that Johnson wasn't much better than Hanie or Hill. BTW - both Jaws and Kiper feel Hanie can be a starter in the league. I agree that this organization needs to start drafting/signing a QB prospect every 1 or 2 yrs. That has been one of my concerns for sometime. Peace

Which rookies will make impacts this season?
Connorbear replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Bearstalk
Williams will start all 16 games at LT. He will struggle at times but will eventually settle down. Forte will not start right away but will be the starter by the end of the yr. Bennett will be our slot receiver from day 1. He is that good and I project him to have 40 plus catches with 5 TDs. Peace -
Evidentally Jaws really likes Hanie as well. Says he has the ability to eventually start in the league. Peace
