We do need a WR, but round 1 just doesn't seem like the place to take one. This is a deep draft for WR so I think we can get just as good a prospect in rd 2-3 as we would in rd 1. 3 guys I like in that range are Christian Kirk, James Washington, and Anthony Miller. They are smaller guys that can get separation, run routes, and have great hands. Trubisky needs that go to guy first before we find the big red zone or throw up and get it guy. We need one of those also and wouldn't mind doubling up in rd4 with Auden Tate or Michael Ateman. Don't think since we have Shaheen that the Bears won't take another TE high either. I can see them taking a Dallas Goedert TE as a more polished receiving threat if we can gain a 2nd or 3rd by trading down. Sign:Fuller,Amukamara, Daquan Jones DE, and Trent Murphy OLB. 1-Mike McGlinchey OT 2-James Washington WR 3-Dallas Goedert TE 4-Auden Tate WR 4-Ade Aruna OLB 5-Azeem Victor ILB 6-Austin Corbett OT/G 7-Kicker

That is what I meant, meaning Quinn will still play DE on those packages which sometimes happens over half the game. The Bears will need a tweener for those and out of who we have, Houston is the only one I would want back. McPhee is no longer effective and we can hang on to Young but wouldn't mind getting younger too. If we draft one, I think he would need to be big enough to handle playing the DE also, unlike Floyd.
-
Robert Quinn may be more of a 4-3, but the Bears are in a 4-3 quite often anyways. They need scheme versatility these days. He is not a available as of yet but if he does hit FA they have to take a look at him. He could replace McPhee salary wise while also being healthier. I like what I hear on Davenport. He may sneak into the top 10 as be is starting to get exposure. Will he be a big project getting him up to NFL speed is what GMs will have to consider. His ceiling looks high, but right now his floor will need to elevate to take that high.
-
His roster bonus is due 3/16. Maybe they will know by then what his status will be. You would assume they will try trade him before that if that is there intentions.
-
Maybe worth a visit. Read today there is A good chance Robert Quinn...age 27 gets cut. He is owed 13 million and the Rams will be strapped to cut only having 900,000 in space.
-
You are correct, I thought he was a FA but Cle has his rights until 2020. Hate to say it, but they may go hard for Allen Robinson if he checks out healthy. It may be a one year prove it type deal. I dont see them spending big on a slot WR like Landry when they can get similiar production from Wright.
-
I think Meredith is a good one to keep. Former QB who has intelligence to know the plays, find openings with size and speed. He is only going to get better unless he is damaged goods with the injury. If Meredith is damaged, then Inman is "IN". White is a given to fight for a spot as you said. Do they re-sign Wright to build consistency with Mitch or let him rejoin Loggains in Miami and sign Landry or Matthews instead? If we keep Wright, I see them going for a bigger outside threat, maybe Josh Gordon since A Robinson is coming off an injury. If they don't keep Wright, then I can see them go for a slot like Landry or Matthews. So with Meredith, Wright, White, and Gordon, which draft pick would compliment this group? Ridley 6'1 190 25 yr old who can separate and catch at a top level. Or Sutton 6'4 218 who can use his body to create the space. If they go WR, I hope they at least move down to gain a 2nd or 3rd, which is possible with the QB push.
-
Hopefully the QBs (Allen/Mayfield) blow up the senior bowl and put some heat on teams looking for QB. Would love to get Buffalos two firsts at 21 and 22. Would think we could get a top OLB and WR/OT with those two picks.
-
They say strength issues grade him down there. Walfersfootball I believe was the site. Not sure i would believe them fully but can see it. I would prefer McGlinchey whose has strength but not footwork for speed. Leno has the foot work but not strength imo. We need to build some OT versataltie, I hate that Leno cannot move right which every meathead Chicago fan suggests. I think the brass may be content with our o-line unfortunately and address it later.

I am still good with Floyd, but enjoy Lbs in the middle that can do it all. I dropped him on my list after Trevathon and Freeman were signed. His knee held up this season, but true it can have effects. The year we can draft a ILB early means we have a team put together, looking like a couple years yet for that.
-
Remember when a lot of here were clamoring over Myles Jack LB in the draft. He looks like a steal for the Jags now as a 2nd RD pick.
-
Yep, James would help put a defense over the top and should be in the mix. I want to start reading about who and why, kinda have to get the first pick out of the way. I left Conner Williams off bc it sounds like he may be a 3rd round pick.
-
I think we have a good idea what positions we want. We can probably put together a list of 10 prospects to narrow it down. Then we can debate this early list to learn more about prospects. Here is my list of considerations. OLB/DE - Bradley Chubb, Arden Key, Marcus Davenport, Harold Landry OT: Mike McGlinchey, Orlando Brown WR: Calvin Ridley, Courtland Sutton CB: Minkah Fitzpatrick G:Quentin Nelson ILB: Roquan Smith RB: Saquan Barkley
-
HH is going to say the right thing. Plus the Bears do not want the league knowing we may target a OT.
-
I think Nelson has great feet, he moves/pulls like a RB hitting a hole with his 6-5 325 frame. Check out some of the video clips with him pulling. Powerful and violent he is, but that is his attitude and if he struggles it is not often. The guy could go #2 to NYG because he is all that. I am not saying he is a must draft for the Bears but I think he is a "for sure" talent.
-
I put Bellamy on a "highly consider" list, but not re-signed. He would only come back for ST if there is room. Statistically, Inman's targets/receptions are nearly identical. As for Landry, I would love him working the middle of the field but would be happy adding Jordan Matthews as the slot also. Kendall Wright would be fine too.
-
I doubt they would go after two of the biggest names WR, but would love that combination. Robinson's injury history is bone, so it is more fluke. He is a top 5 WR when healthy and that is with Bortles. The Bears should carefully look him over and if he passes medically, make him an offer. I will concede on Landry but behind him, I propose Jordan Matthews to work the slot. Daquan Jones is a stout 3-4 end that is a force against the run. I still like Bullard and RRH, but think they still need another body for the rotation. Jones is my Akeem Hicks and ready to take his next big step.
-
I would like the Bears to re-sign: UFA Kyle Fuller CB Lamar Houston OLB Sam Acho OLB Christian Jones ILB Sherrick McManus CB Benny Cunningham RB RFA Cam Meredith WR Bryce Callahan CB Patrick Scales LS Highly consider: Prince Akumara CB John Timu ILB Josh Bellamy WR/ST Marc Sanchez QB Tom Compton OF Cairo Santos K Pat O'Donnell P Kendall Wright WR Donatelle Inman WR FA Allen Robinson WR, Jarvis Landry WR Bashaud Breeland CB Daquan Jones DE 3-4 I would go big on WR in FA. Robinson 1, Meredith 2, and Landry slot. White and draft pick. Rd1-Nelson G or trade down for McGlichey OT gain 2 or 3rd. Rd2-best OLB Rd3-WR
-
I believe this is what you are looking for. http://dabearsbros.com/bears-quenton-nelson/ Nelson has to be in our top 5 considerations.
-
We can go a number of ways, but WR scares the hell out of me. Thank you Kevin White. What also scares me is GB taking Ridley and he becomes a rookie all pro. I like Ridley because of his competition level he faced, knowledge of routes and sound hands. I like Sutton because of his physical traits, which will catch Paces eye. Sorting this draft out will be complicated for Jason because we don't have a sure direction with multiple needs.
-
I think WR should be ruled out RD1 by history alone. Unless there is a beast out there, find your guy further down. 36 WRs taken in the past 10 years and only a handful seem worthy. 2017: Corey Davis 1-5, Mike Williams 1-7, John Ross 1-9 2016: Corey Coleman 1-15, Will Fuller 1-21, Josh Doctson 1-22, Laquan Treadwill 1-23 2015: Amari Cooper 1-4, Kevin White 1-7, Devante Parker 1-14, Nelson Agholor 1-20, Breshard Perelman 1-26, Phillip Dorsett 1-29 2014: Sammy Watkins 1-4, Mike Evans 1-7, Odell Beckham 1-12, Brandon Cooks 1-20, KELVIN Bengiman 1-28 2013:Tavon Austin 1-8, DeAndre Hopkins 1-27, Cordarelle Patterson 1-29 2012: Justin Blackmon 1-5, Michael Floyd 1-13, Kendall Wright 1-20, AJ Jenkins 1-30 2011: 1-4 AJ Green 1-4, Julio Jones 1-6, Jonathon Baldwin 1-26 2010: Demaryious Thomas 1-22, Des Bryant 1-24 2009: Darrious Heyward- Bey 1-7, Michael Crabtree 1-10, Jeremy Maclin 1-19, Percy Garvin 1-22, Hakeem Nicks 1-29, Kenny Britt 1-30 2008: none drafted. Whose worthy: Amari Cooper, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham, DeAndre Hopkins, AJ Green, Julio Jones, Demaryious Thomas, Des Bryant. Some are undetermined yet. A couple on my list could be question of too. Unless we trade down, I wouldn't touch a WR just because it is a big need. Find a pro bowl talent even if it is a G or ILB or CB.(Nelson, R Smith, Fitzpatrick)
-
Thinking the same way Stinger. Needs: OLB, OT, WR, CB RD1: could go with any of these positions, depends on their grade. Need a pro bowl talent OLB OT G CB RD2: whichever we don't fill rd1 and the highest grade OLB OT WR
-
Donatell! He is the next step.
-
It is funny how I read today was the deadline and then shortly after it says he is signing. It could all be coincidence. It could go both ways. He is highly respected, but by giving him a deadline, they may have forced his decision before Shurmur gets interviewed and hired and then sorts out his coaching staff. If he wanted that then they would have found out by him not signing. Basically stop dragging us along so we can move on and get someone else before there is possibly more competition swooping candidates.

It was on twitter, so who knows how official it is. Search Fangio deadline.
