Tonight, Greg Gabriel is tweeting about the possibility of Cleveland trading up to 3 for Trubisky. The Bears would get 12, 33, & 53 in return. That comes about 40 pts shy on the trade chart, so maybe we get a 6th also. It is highly possible if Pace wants to give up 3. Bears can bluff Cleveland by suggesting they will take Trubisky to push them to deal. What could we draft with this? Is 3 too good to give up? 1-12 2-33 2-37 2-53 3-98

Adams at 12 and Watson at 33 would be great.
-
SF could pass on a few guys too, sounds like they really want Leonard Fournette. Thursday should be fun at least.

That would work out good. He has the tools but is down for some reason. It may be his drive they are worried about, that is not as fixable as mechanics etc. All of his measurables are at the top in each category so seeing boards have him as a 2nd-3rd rounder are strange.

"5. Chad Kelly, QB, OleMiss - Huge upside pick here. I think he's got more raw talent than anyone at the QB position this year. He's a great QB to stash and develop." Scored the highest ever QB rating on Sports Science: Draft Combine Special. Too bad he is looked down upon, but you reap what you sow. If the McCaskeys didn't own the Bears, he would be a more talented Jim McMahon. They would frown on that pick.

They all guess like you and I do, but they get payed to do so. That is what make this week so much fun...until we say wtf
-
That could be. It could be smoke too. Aaron Lemming who does Scout Bears forum says he has sources that say Watson is Bears guy too.
-
Some interesting tweets from Greg Gabriel: Trubisky is not on Bears board Allen is not in mix If Garrett and Watson go 1& 2, Bears will go with Thomas. He has some inside connections, but doubt the Bears would allow this to get out.

I see this too if the player is too good too pass. A good pathess catching TE could also be that WR if we can get someone like Engram. Then maybe they draft a late rd WR. If they are moving Fuller or Hall to Safety, they may not draft one. They have many young bodies in the backfield, just no bluechips.

The Bears play the toughest strength of schedule the first half of the season, the Steelers have the easiest using last years records. Seems like we've seen a toughest schedule in nfl recently.

http://walterfootball.com/draft2017positionreviewQB.php To go along with my pick, Walter did a nice write up on ranking the QBs in different categories which is interesting to read. His pick is Mahomes but in all of the rankings, Kizer or Trubisky win most of the categories. If you were to put a point scale on those ranks, it seems Kizer would win it all. His big beef with Kizer is some inconsistancies, which they all have. If we can persuade a team to trade up to 3 and we can take Kizer, I think we would have a gem.
-
Ooh, #12 and next years #1 would be just right for me. #3=2200, #12=1200 the future 1st would be generous on us to put at 1000pts.

I held out putting a player in to see what answers come out. There are multiple names which makes it interesting. I am liking some of these answers. I think Howard and Hooker will be big time, they offer rare abilities. Corey Davis has the tools to be a top 5 WR too. My feeling is Deshaun Kizer will be the QB that rises to the top when we look back at this class. Just a feeling, maybe it's my ND bias being a huge fan. That will be my player, I know 3 is way too high, but my bet is placed. Two years down the road I may be shaking my head and hoping this stays buried. No beef on Watson either, provide a strong run game and set a passing game to his strengths and he can be successful too.
-
I agree it would be dumb. I think it is just a journalist throwing out an idea like the whole Jimmy Garappolo story early on. I think the Bears have a high chance of taking a QB with the first pick though. It could be debated that it would be too early, but basing it off of Gil Brandts last 3-4 final mocks, I see the trend and possibility those QBs go higher than 8 or 9 as he had them slotted.
-
For QBs that can transcend quickest, I think Peterman can. Watched his Gruden QB show and was impressed with his communication skills and his vision running the zone read option offense. I also think Kizer can transcend quickly, he ran a NFL offense and made adjustments at the line. I think this class has three or four prospects that will be starters in this league, hopefully we can get one
-
Which player would you regret NOT drafting if we can fast forward two years after this draft. Looking for the player that by 2019 is a probowler or our biggest difference maker. Asking for the regret because a prospect can develop into a better pro than his slotted draft rank or may not even be one of our current needs.

I think Fox is safe unless he loses contol and faith from the players. I don't see that happening as they fought and stayed in nearly every game last season. With staying healthy alone, is he defense should be better. They added two capable starters in Cooper and Prince at CB to go along with Demps at S. That should improve the backfield a couple of ticks up. Fuller should be healthy and Hall may just make a decent FS. The only position not fortified was 5T, but added Jenkins to the mix and hefty expectations from Bullard who I think many underestimate. They could go Allen/Thomas there and I wouldn't be surprised. Sanchez makes a solid backup being a vet who may take the #2 snaps for only a week or two to get the basics down before switching with lets say Watson. The reason I have a TE going round 2 is because of a offense built for Watson will require quick recievers getting open in short routes and they can rotate to stay fresh.
-
I wouldn't mind Blair Brown with a late round pick. Timu/Anderson are on non guaranteed contracts and they don't have much upside. Jones is guaranteed and he is a little more flexible in were he can play, so keeping him around one more year is fine.
-
Going off of Gil's list: 1: Watson/Trubisky QB - With Glennon on a one year see what we get deal, the Bears draft their future franchise QB. Sanchez will be 3rd on the depth chart allowing the rookie snaps as 2nd string to start. 2: Evan Engram TE - Dynamic playmaking TE that will create many mismatches and fit a Deshaun Watson attack offense. 3: Sidney Jones CB - He may not get to play this season, but can shut down one side of the field from 2018 and after. 4: Derek Rivers OLB - High motor that can develop into a fierce pass rusher. 4: Avery Gennesy OT - Good fit for a Zone Blocking scheme offense and good potential to play LT>

You're right. Not only is this draft weird, but the Bears draft needs are also. Pace brought in FAs to cover nearly every need. This draft is open to grab the best player available or reach on a difficult position to fill like QB. This draft has Garrett then about 10-12 players that can go anywhere in no order.
-
I was shocked to see the rumor about moving up to pick 2. I think 4 QBs will go round, they each have aspects of their game that is interesting and how they sort out will make Thursday a late night. If the Bears do not trade down or select one at 3, I would hold tight for a move back into the first. Pace has made offers the past two years, I do not see him striking out 3 years in a row on not addressing the position with high upside.
-
I was a big fan of Luke Falk, thought he has Derek Carr ability. Rosen and Darnold will be the big projections next draft. Depends on how Rosen does recovering from injury. As for next draft, it depends on how the Bears finish. I don't imagine another 3-13 season and more middle of the draft like at 8-8. Out of reach on the top two, but can take the Falk/Rudolph/Allen I'd imagine. With a deep QB class, that may drop 4-5 other top players down to us and QB needy teams may trade up. Pace will have to decide if Watson or whoever will be equal to next class and figure in the extra year of NFL experience taking one now does. I think 8-8 record happens whether they take a defensive stud or QB this season.

Watson is picking up steam from the links I am seeing. The link I posted doesn't seem to pull up as I hoped, but was suggesting Watson also. Less than 2 weeks and we will find out.
