  1. We were decent against the pass, but that stat was flawed because we were bad against the run. A healthy Goldman will help that.
  2. [quote name='Stinger226' date='May 1 2017, 07:08 Whitehair is moving to a OT spot or, Grasu backup spot is in jeopardy . Also Jaye Howard a 5T that was cut my KC a few weeks ago, visited the Bears today. I would say if healthy, we have another new Bear. Hard to say what the signing means, but it is definately a wake up call to Grasu. Howard failed earlier physicals, wonder how far off is his to being healthy. Doubt he would be still available if good now.
  3. Fuller I would imagine is on the bubble to be cut also. They can drag it out with him through camp. If he decides to put it together, maybe we can see what we saw his rookie season. I don't think he liked Porter since TP called Fuller out on a few occasions about not preparing like a pro and that may have helped him tap out with being a team player. No excuses this season.
  4. Fixed now, thanks. Not sure what was wrong, tried clicking on it but got nothing...all good now
  5. Link is not there. I dont think I saw the whole segment. The two the impressed me the most were Peterman and Kaaya. Maybe bc they were more gitty. Them two also had the highest wonderlic
  6. Let them bash it. There might be parts I don't like how they happened but stand behind it. We could draft a bunch of well known names that get praise and they could all bust. They come into the NFL on the same level, they are men with special qualities. What makes or breaks them is how they adjust.
  7. The drafts never go how we envision and that makes fans react the way the way they do. I think most felt good last year and the opposite this year. What Pace did with this draft is add pieces that will help a young QB with a TE, 3rd down back that can help extend series, and a G who will be starting next year. One thing I want my team to do is give everything possible to make that QB successful and he will still need a blindside protector which looks to be solid in the next draft class.
  8. Just took a glance at early mocks this morning. It looks deep at QB, OT, CB, DE/OLB and WR. The blessing is if we can get a 3rd back at least if not more to trade down. RD1-Mike McGlinchey ND or Connor Williams TEX OLT-if we can nail down the LT and make it a strength instead of a below average joe, Trubisky may look like gold by staying clean. RD2-Arden Key LSU OLB- good time to reload on pass rush since Houston, Young, McPhee won't all be around. Could go DB here but pass rush trumps. RD3-Jaire Alexander CB Lou-smaller CB but plays big. Pick came from trading down a few spots RD1
  9. It would be nice to be able to take a deal and pick up extra picks whether the bears are a top 5 pick or mid round. Still have some prime positions to fill like OLT and a shut down CB, so I wouldn't sacrafice those. The prime positions you want to hit on of course are QB, DE/OLB, CB and OLT, we have a good chance of having two checked off. The tough part is having the patience building this from basically nothing, which we may have a tough season again seeing the first half of the schedule.
  10. You missed the extra 4th we had, but like your picks #3-Mitchell Trubisky QB- I believe SF wanted Thomas regardless and feared trading down to lose him #36-Sidney Jones CB- take his potential, the draft was that anyways #67 -Cooper Kupp WR #111 Eddie Jackson S #117 David Sharpe OT #147 Jordan Legget TE #221 Zane Gonzalez K
  11. We probably had the most time to work on these UDFA'S. Hopefully we find another gem or two
  12. Just saw the John Lynch interview. He said he had other teams making offers for the #2 pick. Glad we got the QB, sucks we had to deal those picks. To think had we lost to SF instead of winning, we could have had a few more players drafted.
  13. I agree. Hate seeing all the hate. The Bulls fans booing Trubisky. The radio stations in morning. These guys drafted have huge upside and to be honest, our defense was pretty damn good last year even with all the injuries and if the offense is improved then that helps the D also. As for Sitton, I was thinking he gets cut in 2018. I seen Morgan earlier on mocks and for some reason I thought he would be another Whitehair.
  14. That was my first thought, Hill from KC was a terror. I can see the Bears using him the same way as RB, WR, KR.
  15. Draft is complete. Anybody have different thoughts? We can be anywhere from 4 wins up to 9.
  16. Nice work. I am more pessimistic about our record but like the potential this team has. The pieces are falling in place, we still have great cap space and if we suck again, we can accumulate tons of draft picks with this next QB class coming in.
  17. We should improve with health alone, but didn't do much in this draft to make an early impact.. With that going and the toughest 1st half of the season schedule in the NFL, I will give them a one win increase, because I see the young guys playing more later this season, decreasing the chance to win. A 4-12 record could happen which nets them top 2-4 draft pick. Since they have their QB of the future drafted, they can now trade down with that pick which should be hot if the QBs coming up are what the say. That pick should net the Bears multiple 1sts and 2nds in both 2018 & 2019.
  18. Damn, nice call. I know your feelings about RBs. I like what this kid has, but prefer your slot better. After watching what Tyreek Hill did last season for KC, maybe the Bears have a similiar vision.
  19. Pace has now just completed his Saints trifecta...Brees/Graham/Sproles. Waiting on Jason's reaction since we know his thoughts on RB
  20. I was going to bring up the same things. I follow the draft as early as possible and he was a first round mention early on. His traits reminded me of what Jamal Adams had. I know ppl are upset over it bc they drafted an injured player but i think he can eventually be big part of the defense down the road.

    Day three

I will throw a few other names I like Carl Lawson DE - 6'-2" 261 Compares to Dwight Freeney. rotational player with Bullard OLB: Vance Biegel, Deatrich Wise, Carroll Phillips, Devonte Fields, Jalen Reeves-Maybin NT-Elijah Qualls WAS DT - If he can take double teams and occasionally get upfield at the NT, he would make a good rotation for Goldman WR- Chad Hansen Cal, Dede Westbrook, Isaiah Ford, Ryan Switzer, Mack Collins. OT-Adam Bisonowaty, Chad Wheeler, Will Holden TE's: Jake Butt, Jordan Leggett, George Little, Bucky Hodges, Jeremy Sprinkle. QB's: Nate Peterman, Brad Kaaya, Josh Dobbs, Chad Kelly - names teams may trade up for?
  22. You got it. There is a handful of youth on the roster we keep looking past because the draft if like getting the new Sears catalog before Christmas. We want new shiny toys all the time.
  23. I'd be ok to trade one 4th if we can get a 4th and 5th out of it. Still a decent list to pick from 1-Desmond King CB/S 2-Eddie Jackson S 3- Isaiah Ford WR 4- Jaleel Johnson DT 5- Roderick Johnson OT 6- David Sharpe OT 7- Avery Gennesy OT 8 - Julien Davenport OT 9- Brian Hill RB 10-Tedrick Thompson S 11- Howard Wilson CB 12-Mack Collins WR 13-Zane Gonzalez K Why not: 4-Desmond King DB, 4-Roderick Johnson OT, 5-Zane Gonzalez K, 6-Mack Collins WR
  24. Looks like they plan on going two TE sets often which plays huge into Howard. Glennon is also better in that set running a lot of play action. Many short quick passes and run plays to control the clock. The WRs we have also seem to fit the scheme, guys who can get open in quick short routes. Who sticks at TE, Sims, Miller, Shaheen, and Braunicker and try to stash Brown on practice squad
  25. Wish we were able to get a 3rd out of the deal. The Bears can regroup tonight and get two BPA's. To be honest I never seen S or CB as huge needs with the amount of personal they have there. Sure an upgrade would be good but then you are giving up on some talent that should grow. OT I like: Avery Gennesy potential at LT and good for a zone blocking scheme. If Grasu comes back heathly and hungry then maybe shift Whitehair to a OT also. OT-Roderick Johnson- might make a decent RT, but has experience at LT for FSU
