  1. With FA signings, I can see them avoid CB unless they really feel good about a prospect. I think there is room for a Safety, which there are rumors DeAndre' Hall may make the move. Cornerbacks- Normally about 6 make a roster. Tracy Porter - lock Marcus Cooper - lock Prince Amukamara - lock Cre'Von LeBlanc - lock Kyle Fuller Bryce Callahan -lock Deiondre' Hall - lock Jon Banks Sherrick McManis Safety - Normally 4 make a roster Quentin Demps - lock Adrian Amos - lock Harold Jones-Quartey Deon Bush - lock DeAndre Houston-Carson Chris Prosinski
  2. http://walterfootball.com/draft2017charlie.php 1-Jonathan Allen DE- The 5T can really tip the scale for making Chicagos front 7 elite 2-Deshaun Watson QB- they feel he is still over drafted here, but it would be a steal in my book 3-Zay Jones WR- With the loss of AJ and unknown of White, I can see this pick. Would be ok 4-Jeremy Sprinkle TE-Early on I was big on Sprinkle as all around TE 4-Brenden Langley CB-Dont know much on him but seems like a good prospect. I didn't catch were Jordan Leggett went, but could pair him up with Watson if he is available. Would also consider OLB or S round 3 if a stud is still there.
  3. That could work, like you I think a 5T holds more value but a stud S can lock down the backfield for years also. The #3 pick is a pain
  4. If that is the case, I hope they have a plan in place to be in the running for a QB next year. Hard to hang a hat on having long term success with Glennon and Shaw.
  5. If they do sign him, cross QB off the first 3 rounds. They can bring in a late round prospect to compete with Shaw.
  6. Round 1- I think they should have it down to Allen, Thomas, or Watson at #3. Allen has the arthritis, reminds me of Tommie Harris in a way, but he could be our good Suh. Thomas could be Lamarr Houston 2. Houston was 273 and beefed up to 300 before dropping down to 285. He also can become Justin Smith. Watson could be RG3, being limited or Russell Wilson. I avoided the DBs because the house is full of young unprovens and the draft is deep. Round 2 - Kizer, Mahomes at QB, Baker, Obi Melinfonwu S, Conley, Wilson, A Jackson CB. A OT, TE, DT, OLB might slip and be our choice too. A lot depends on if Ricky Jean Francsis gets signed, that happens and I see QB as our pick and S round 2.
  7. If Bears sign a 5T, I do not see it far fetched. The guy is a beast and can be considered BPA. ILB is also somewhat a need since Trevathan can possibly miss half the season and Freemans age/contract shows he won't be around after his contract expires after this season. It is a dark horse pick, but Chicago likes its great LB tradition and he can carry on the legacy.
  8. Thomas does play at a high motor. It is possible they go that route, but I still think they sign another DT like Ricky Jean Francis and go QB/CB/S with the 1st. Bullard will also be in the mix more, being a 3rd round pick they will eventually look for him to start.
  9. Greg Gabriel thinks different. He does not think he can play 5T. He played at 260 last season and should be about 290. He gained weight for the combine but still measured at 273. At OLB, he would be a pass rush only as he has never played much in coverage and would need to learn there. He basically said Thomas can be a great pro more so in a 4-3, but not a good fit for the Bears. At pick #3, the Bears would take him for OLB, but he would be over drafted since he is a tweener and would need work in coverages.
  10. I'd be ok with that. I hear rumblings of Trubisky or Watson though. Pace has a two year crush on Watson and really likes Trubisky this year. I can see him going elsewhere now with Glennon too. I see them set up now to go QB Watson/Trubisky, CB Lattimore, S Adams/Hooker, or OLB Thomas/Reddick with #1. edit: I have been mixed up on John Jenkins and John Hankins, smh. Hankins would have eliminated a 5T need, Jenkins is depth at NT like others have said. Might still want Allen who can play that, unless they can still sign Hankins.
  11. I have had him on fantasy the past 3-4 year. Nooo, he is only healthy and productive when I do not have him.
  12. I am a no also. We are young and do not need a guy at the end of his career at the RB position. Draft a late rounder if a stud is out there.
  13. Bears sign John Jenkins DT, possibly a Goldman move and draft can go to QB/S/CB.
  14. I felt that with Hawkins in today. He signs and Goldman moves to 5T. Poe signed with Atl I believe.
  15. I think it is in the plans. Maybe not down as far, but enough to get them an extra 2nd and 3rd. They can go many directions in prospects, just need someone to fall for an Allen or possibly Thomas to do it. Whether they take QB or not rd1, I think they want ammo to trade back up to get one like Watson.
  16. That is why I would go for these risky guys. Does anyone think we are in playoff contention this season? I think we are closer to a top 10 pick in 2018. At CB, we have a squad of young players and will have to cut a few as it is. At TE, we have enough to fill a roster with Sims, Miller, Brown, and Braunicker. If the Bears feel Jones or Butt can rehab and contribute big in 18 then picking one if available in the 4th if good.
  17. Rookie stats, added thoughts: comp att % yds tds ints rating Player1: 247 416 59.4% 2608 19 9 83.9 Player2: 339 627 54.1% 4374 23 18 76.5 One was drafted as a sure thing and is considered "elite" the other was drafted RD3 as a project. Both played most games their rookie season. Player two is Andrew Luck, it took him a couple years to settle in and to produce at elite levels. Glennon, was in a better balanced offense but poorly talented team and put up solid numbers. For some reason, they pulled the plug on letting him grow and eventually took Winston, they should have stuck with Glennon and drafted Amari Cooper or Leonard Williams.
  18. Sage Rosenthals breaks down Osweiler and Glennon signings and says the Bears invested wisely. http://www.thescore.com/news/1254088
  19. I don't think I would spend a 3rd RD pick but that 4th would be tempting. I think they can survive letting an 4th rd redshirt for a potential shut down CB. 4th rounders Bush and Houston-Carson sat most of the year and we are already talking about drafting replacements over them.
  20. There has to be a fine line, but taking a risk on Sidney Jones, who was projected mid 1st, would be worth it if you get him with your early 4th IMO. Dallas on the other hand risked on a large scale with ND LB Jaylon Smith last year with their 2nd RD pick. Smith was projected as high as the #1 over all before his injury. If he is healthy this year and plays at the level projected, they made a bold wise risk but losing that 2nd in 16' was costly.
  21. I feel the same way about Jake Butt TE. If he is there RD4, stash him on IR also. 2017 is not expected to be promising, more like a feeler to see if there is improvement.
  22. Sidney Jones CB Wash, was considered a first round CB, tore his Achilles at his pro day. This cost him a lot of money and the 2017 season. I would think he makes it to Round 3 and possibly RD4. Would love to stash him while they see what Prince and Fuller have on one year deals. He would be like a 2018 1st RD pick. Contract expires after 2017: Prince Amukamara CB, Kyle Fuller CB, Sherrick McManis CB, Bryce Callahan CB, DeVante Bausby CB, Jacoby Glenn CB, and Rashaad Reynolds Contract expires after 2018: Crevon LeBlanc CB, Tracy Porter CB Contract expires after 2019: Marcus Cooper CB, Deiondre' Hall CB
  23. What defines BPA? Being best to contibute right away or best for the team long term? If going by right away, then you will never have a QB as BPA. I think both Trubisky or Watson can be long term starters in this league and that will weigh in.
  24. I would love any of those prospects and feel QB may very well be up the sleeve also. Here is what Pace said after hired as GM. It's a powerful lens in front of Ryan Pace's eyes as he prepares for his first draft as Bears general manager. Since Pace was hired Jan. 8, he has expressed how vital a quarterback is to sustaining success while calling it the most difficult position to evaluate and fill. So although the Bears are proceeding this season with incumbent Jay Cutler, Pace's search for a long-term solution will continue. "It's a good idea to add a quarterback every year," Pace said in late March. "You can take a swing every year at it and increase your odds." That could mean an early-round pick, a late one or a college free agent. Pace overlapped with Tony Romo as a player at Eastern Illinois — not long before Romo went from undrafted free agent to Cowboys star — so he knows that continuing to spin the wheel for a quarterback can pay off. Finding that treasure, though, can require navigating a minefield with various levels of investment and risk." So, if he feels one of the top guys is worth the risk, I beleive he takes one. He has not drafted one yet which is surprising from what he said, but I think this year he takes one RD 1-2.
