Week 1 - Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers Official Game Thread
The defense is absolutely stunning so far. Hicks, Mack, and RRH are too much for any team to handle. Too bad for Aaron, would rather see him still in there taking the lumps.

Goldman Extended 4 years
The first defensive player taken by Ryan Pace. The first piece to Fangios D. NTs usually don't lead in stats. They force teams to double or triple team. Fangio took over a poor D and elevated it to a top 10 and now possibly a top 5. This is his center piece. 2 years from now the money will be average. Kudos to Pace for keeping this core intact long term and proving the Bears are not cheap and reward their own.

Goldman Extended 4 years
How does he compare to other NTs? He is one of the most important pieces to a 3-4, so that has some value. With the addition of Mack, someone somewhere along the line will benefit. I'd say Goldman stands a good chance.

10 Man Practice Squad Announced
I am glad we got Nall back, same as Gentry. I was surprised they didn't retain Jordan Morgan OG but they had about 2 years to see him. Tolliver making the 53 shows he has the potential, was hoping for Doren Grant to slip in too. Since we traded for Mack, the next two years will be difficult to fill the next "big" need we find, so it will be more developmental projects and dipping into FA. Everything is in place now, the destiny rests on the shoulders of Mitch. With the D we have, we can if need be rely on them to win.

Ryan Nall next Cohen?
Terrible move I think, but he wasnt drafted so maybe they can get him to the PS.
-
Ryan Nall next Cohen?
Great analysis AZ. I was onto Nall early when someone else brought him up as a potential pick. Burton is your true FB but Nall is a weapon who can do it all RB/FB/TE/WR. He has may not have the initial burst speed but he is ranked at the top once he gets going.

Ryan Nall next Cohen?
I think he put that game together. Not only at RB, but looked good at FB too ....while also doing well on ST.

Nagy sitting starters today
Let's hope Nagy sees and knows Trubisky is better before we start the controversy. Daniel's sure looked good and at least we know we have a good backup.

Nagy sitting starters today
Nagy has a good feel for his players. He may have lost 2 starters last week so I am good with him sitting them in this. We got a good look at players who will not see the field much and they played pretty good. I like Wims, Nall, Irving, and Fitts and they all faired well. Let's hope they all make the 53.

Bears at Broncos, Preseason Game# 3
Bears dodge a bullet, Shaheen has a low ankle sprain. Should be ready week 1 against GB.
-
Bears at Broncos, Preseason Game# 3
Losing him the first few games would be a big loss. I think he will be a big part of the offense along with Burton.

Bears at Broncos, Preseason Game# 3
Shaheen might be 6-8 weeks if it is serious. Hoping for the best case 2-3 weeks. Floyd also left early with a hand injury.

Alshon Jeffery could start on PUP and miss 6 games
Figures, first year I draft him in FF. Good thing I have AJ Green, Tyreek Hill, and Ty Hilton.

Ryan Nall next Cohen?
The thing is, he would be great at a Trey Burton role, but he can also play RB. I think he sticks.
-
Ryan Nall next Cohen?
Pulled this up, maybe a little early, but Nall had a okay to bad first game and a stellar second game. He is proving he can block from the back field also. A few people have projected he makes the 53 as RB, and cutting M Burton. Holding out hope, but I want to see this kid shine. I should be able to actually watch the next game.

Trade the Bears 1R pick for Khalil Mack?
I agree, you may only rush one but which side is coming? If they both can play equally well against run, pass, and blitzing, then that is a bonus. I don't like the possible cost of draft picks. We just got out of hell from years of trading them for upgrades. Would Mack elevate the Bears to a top 5 team?

Hall of Fame game
Here is my take, the top 5 are in, the battle is at 6. 1. Robinson 2. Gabriel 3. Miller 4. White 5. Wims 6. Bellamy/Fowler/Gentry Bellamy has looked better catching and a ST standout, but a complete douche bag. Fowler has not had a good showing so far. Gentry - Still growing as a player, does he have a higher ceiling? As for ST standouts, it is time some of the younger DBs drafted shine here, like DeAndre Houston-Carson. He was supposed to be an ace on STs. Bush/Hall also.

Hall of Fame game
Javon Wims WR with a heck of a game. They won't be able to stash him on the PS. Fitts and Irving OLB made some noise getting after the QB. Lynch needs to get healthy. I would like to see him resurrect his career and solidify the position. Bullard and RRH played well at DT also. Both are fighting for the starting title.

Smith Contract Talks
I heard one half legitimate concern over not giving in. If the rest of the defense has that language also in their contracts, would any of them threaten to walkout to get it removed from their contracts also. I think there were only 2 or 4 situations last year were players were suspended for this rule.

Anthony Miller
We have a young core to be extremely excited about. Trubisky, Miller, Cohen, & Shaheen will give teams fits for years. Add in Robinson and Howard as proven commodities with Gabriel, White, and Burton, and this offense jumps to a top 10. Pace can turn his attention to bolstering the D next offseason and find a couple OTs to keep the oline young and strong. Finally coming together.
