  1. Bears take Allen? Matt Miller who does interesting work today released his new mock draft and has the Bears taking QB Josh Allen. I don't think he declared for the draft yet, a really don't know much on him.
  2. I agree Allen and Garrett are the top prizes to be had, good chance one slips. Cleveland is in a great place to get some top prospects and turn there franchise around. They will not take QB at #1 and have been linked to Garrett already. I do not see them trading up either with the 2nd 1st. They will stand pat and take one if they like there or ship that with a 4th to NE for Garapolo. San Fran is in a complete tear down and rebuild, some how, they have an abundance of picks again. The new GM will have QB high on his board, but will he pass on Allen? If they look to trade down, it may be to a team that would have a QB and wanting Allen. That leaves either Allen, the QB of choice, or hopefully a trade down. We may not be excited about the QB class, but come April they will be hot commodities. QBs always rise on draft boards and for a good reason.
  3. If the Bears want to turn the corner, they need to start a path and go with it. Without a QB they are only making circles. They should hire Mike McCoy to be the OC if he does get fired, re-sign AJ long term and draft offense. On Defense, they have some pieces and are respectable but can use a DE, CB, and S to take that step into top 10 talk. Sign the top dogs as a year or two patch like Calais Campbell DE, Eric Berry FS, and Trumaine Johnson CB. If there is still money, maybe make a run at Mevin Engram OLB also. Hoyer may make a decent veteran bridge QB so you have some experience there also. draft: 1. Deshone Kizer QB -has the size, athleticism, iq, and arm. If he had the same WR/oline as last year he would be a #1 prospect. 2. OJ Howard TE- top te who can block and stretch the field. Seems like a good tool to give a young QB to develop with. 3. Chad Wheeler OT- Great movement and nasty attitude. Keep building that oline 4. Cooper Kupp WR- good size with great hands, would make a nice safety blanket 4. Ryan Switzer WR-slot wr that can take on return duties also 5. RB that is a change of pace but also big enough to be durable and block If they get behind RB Howard and get off the bus running while the offense grows and the D is a strong point they may be an 8-8 or 9-7 team. Next draft invest heavy in D to fill in for the aging vets like Campbell, Freeman, and Berry and let them learn behind them one year. Who knows, if the team stays healthy and adds the right pieces can even be playoff worthy. I know not everyone is on board going QB this high but I think long term it can work out.
  4. I wish I seen that game. If he declares, he should be in the mix. I liked some earlier video on him. The biggest thing in my books on a QB prospect is how they lead and how they learn if they have the other tools you state. I don't want the Bears to have FOBO, when it comes to making a decision.
  5. It will probably come down to a QB or pass rusher if we cannot trade down. I have a feeling Kizer will end up our target. However the draft goes if we stay at #3, we will get the top DE, OLB, or QB.
  6. I think Garrett and Allen go 1 & 2. Cleveland has been open about their Garrett crush and SF may take Allen to bookend with Buckner (and Allen will rate the highest player by alot imo) or trade back a little and still go QB. That leaves the Bears looking at Fournette or Cook at RB who will be rated top 10. Peppers who won't fit the scheme. Then Derek Barnett OLB, Jamal Adams S or Humphrey CB who are all interesting. I really think the Bears go QB unless one of those top two to fall.
  7. I do know the Bears heavily scouted Kizer and he may be their pick. I can see trading back up into the bottom of a round to insure you get your guy, but not more. Luke Falk would have been a good 3rd RD pick worth trading into the bottom of the 2nd for, maybe that is why he is returning for another college season. One way or another, we need a starting caliber QB from hopefully this draft.
  8. I think they would take that also. You always have to throw your highest asking price out at the beginning.
  9. The Patriots have put a price on Jimmy G, seems a little steep to me. They are looking for a 1st and 4th; what do you think? https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/now-that-...-162636351.html
  10. Exactly my thought. If no QB is worthy of drafting Rounds 1 or 2, then do not draft one at all. They would be no different then what we currently have in Barkley, Shaw, or Fales. If this is the case, then the trade we should be making is for a FUTURE 1st RD pick in 2018'ss draft. Arizona: Round 1-11 = 1250pts, Round 2-43 = 470pts, Future 1st (equal to a 2nd) = 470-500 pts Total: 2190-2220 value Bears: Round 1-3 = 2200 value Draft: 1-10 Derek Barnett OLB Tenn 2-35 Cordrea Tankersly CB Clem 2-43 Budda Baker FS Was 3-67 Jordan Leggett TE Clem 4-100 Chad Wheeler OT USC 4-108 Malachi Dupree WR LSU 5-136 Julie'n Davenport OT Bucknell 7-245 Best ILB prospect:
  11. With 48-60 million, the Bears will be big spenders. I think the target fix this off season will be with the DBs. Dee Millner CB and Tony Jefferson SS would be two good pick ups. I would still consider Calais Campbell DE or Melvin Engram OLB to solidify the front pass rush also. Sign those 4 and the draft opens to a wide variety of options were we may be able to trade down a few slots and take Jamal Adams FS and gain enough ammo to get back into the first to grab a QB. Free agency will be a big part this offseason, wish I can see Paces wish list.
  12. Going off needs, QB and CB. Top 2 talent may be DE and OLB, so maybe we go there.
  13. I cannot say none of these guys are not franchise types yet. My intial thought is Trubisky looks the part, but I will wait until I start seeing final grades. Pace seems to know his QBs if reports are correct about him targeting Marriotta and Wentz with trying to trade up for them. If the Bears are serious about the position, round one is where you start the process. The top two may go before we pick, then you look further down.
  14. As much as I would love to see a premier defensive end or OLB added, QB should be the Bears top priority. Trubisky's name will be at the top of the board, but Clev and SF will be looking hard at him too. The Bears invested high in White and have a steal in Howard, it would be great to finalize the trifecta with a QB to go forward with.
  15. Miami beating Buffalo helps that second 4th round pick some also. Definitely need to get a QB after watching Barkley today.
  16. I like Humphrey, he is in my top 5 right now. As late round CBs go, Kevin King has been interesting too. Another late guy I liked is climbing Chidobe Awuzie, Colorado.
  17. I stick to mainly CBS or Matt Millers boards on fanspeak. Miller seems more like a midwest homer as he tends to rate ND and bigten players higher which takes some fun out of it. To be honest, it is still to early to feel where players slot, but it is fun to play out. Like your draft alot, but I would almost sacrafice the TE Leggett for an OT if someone liken Wheeler was available. Kupp is a steal, would make a great compliment to Kevin White if he ever gets back to what he was supposed to be. I still think Falk can be one of the best QBs in the draft. Have that Derek Carr feeling with him.
  18. May have to try and trade him. Sucks bc we probably only get a conditional 6-7 rd pick. Wonder with him being a NFL family guy if he is getting lousy advice from family members? The guy seems to be holding out or maybe he really isnt healthy.

I am ok paying big in fa and front load it. The amount of cap we will have will be huge, especially if Cutler gets released. 48 mil plus 14 if Cutler is cut (62 total). They can sign two big fa's and a handful of middle tier with that. Jeffery will have to be signed or taggedbecause they should not let him go with no return.
  20. I agree, the Bears should take him on bpa status alone. It is not the greatest need but it would make the defensive front 7 scary to face and how the 85 team was made. It would also help the dbacks because the ball would have to come out quicker. I am not against it, but playing devils advocate here, I start to think of the Jets. As long as the Bears can still draft a worthy QB, it can work out. Maybe we luck into the Raiders situation when they got Mack and Carr. Our Dbacks are young except for Porter and some (Hall/Bush) haven't got much of a chance yet to grow.

If Calais Campbell DE ARZ hits the open market, the Bears should jump all over him to fill the gap until Bullard emerges or falls. Sign Campbell at DE, go with our current OLB's and draft QB or CB.
  22. Unfortunately, Royal will be back at some point until he clears a physical. They cannot cut him until then, same with Cutler I believe.
  23. It is early, but I see Cleveland going OLB #1 (Garnett/Barnett, 49ers QB (hopefully Watson if Kelly is still coach), Jax is tough because they fired Bradley, so could be OT/WR (Ramzyck OT/ Mike William or John Ross WR)to help Bortles if they havent given up on him too.. Bears may be looking at Kizer/Trubisky, Humphrey CB, Adams S, or Allen DE, Barnett/Garrett OLB. Bears will definately be looking at some good choices to make a difference.
  24. I see Cleveland going BPA with their first pick and if no QB of their likings is available, then make the trade with New England for Jimmy Garapollo. They recently established a trade working partnership for Jamie Collins at OLB for a 4th rd pick. Pairing Garrett with Collins would give them a great set of olb.
  25. I do not see a plethora of ILB's, unless Trevathan makes a miraculous recovery. Not sure why there is discussion of cutting one? Like you said, I think we have seen enough of Timu and Anderson and can use another young talent in the mix. After 2017, if the young guns look like starters, then you can look at saving cap by releasing Freeman.
