  1. I would give a lot of credit to the Ravens due to their President Richard "Dick" Cass also. The guy could be in line to become the next commissioner of the nfl and is highly thought of by NFL owners.
  2. Because I can. Why would I demean anyone here? It was interesting to see thoughts on the whole process and the 9 page thread was interesting as well but is locked.. Posts on how Trestman wears on players/coaches and hasnt held a job more than two years seem accurate. I think most were intrigued with Trestman and an offensive mind was a high priority.
  3. Thanks for the breakdown. If Collins is there, I would think we take him....unless they throw a wrench into the draft machine and take: Amari Cooper WR, Brandon Scherff OLT, Randy Gregory DE who seem to have a higher value.
  4. I can see that, along with Trestman getting axed. There is too much riding $ wise to see a big changeover. They may promote the Dline coach to DC and find a new ST coach, but I think they try to stay on course.
  5. It is sad that he literally took two years salary loly-gagging it. He had the last laugh. Thanks for the early years.
  6. Even TE Zach Miller and Marquess Wilson hurt... Wouldn't it have been nice to stay healthy for once. What could've been? Injuries did hurt, seems like too much. I hope it isnt the excuse given though
  7. True, was being a little sarcastic, but we do need homeruns. Now the thought of having a need to replace the QB has to loom in the next two drafts.
  8. It seems we are 4 first RD draft picks away. I do think finding a stud MLB is the biggest need. Our middle is soft and gets exposed in the passing game. If we can come out of the offseason with a Brian Urlacher and Mike Brown draft, we can might see a respectable D again. If there is a way to trade down a few slots and draft Benardrick McKinney MLB and trade back up for Gerod Holliman S, we may have something. We have so many holes QB, RB, speed WR, Oline, S, CB, it can go on and on. But if we are stuck with these coaches again, fix the D holes first through draft and then plug offense with 1 yr fa deals.
  9. If there is a way to convince Polian, it would be nice. I am rooting for the Patriots to win the Superbowl. Then Brady and Bilichick retire together on top. Offer Belichick a lucrative deal or even some ownership to become President and right this franchise. He can decide who stay or goes down to Staley the mascot.
  10. SCS, you and I seem to agree on a lot of players as I've been touting Holliman on another board for a month or so now. He is now popping up in mocks either in RD's 1 or 2. I also meant to add in this list Shaq Thomson if we think he can play MLB. If he projects as WLB, I think we should pass as Bostic, Jones, and Greene seem like WLB projects themselves.
  11. If these guys were available, who should the Bears choose? To help with that process, here is a list of possible 2nd/3rd RD prospects we can nab too. Sure it's early, but always fun too Round 1: 1. Landon Collins S Alabama:Big hard hitting SS, covers side line to side line. 2. Gerod Holliman S Louisville: CB converted to S and replaced Pryor. Holliman leads NCAA in INTs. Size/Speed/Instincts 3. Marcus Peters CB Washington: Shut down corner, fiery attitude. Paired w Fuller our CBs will be locked for years. 4. Dante Fowler DE Florida: Solid DE that can get to the QB 5. Brandon Scherff OT Iowa: OLT that can step in an be a probowl OLG next to Bushrod. 6. Benardrick McKinney ILB Miss St: Big (6-4), fast, athletic LB that has the tools to possibly be the next big LB in Chicago. Round 2: Alex Carter CB Stanford, Ronald Darby CB FSU, Cody Prewitt FS Ole Miss, Derron Smith FS Fresno St, Erik Kendricks ILB, Markus Golden DE Mizz, Shilique Calhoun DE Mich St. , Ty Sambrailo T Colo St, Jake Fisher T Oregon, Round 3: Kurtis Drummond S Mich St, Josh Shaw CB USC, AJ Johnson ILB Tenn, Hronis Grasu C Oregon St, Tre Jackson G FSU Reese Dismukes C Auburn... I'm going with: Landon Collins S, Erik Kendricks ILB, and Josh Shaw CB because Collins fills the a void left vacant for a decade. Kendricks plays at a high energy and makes plays, and Shaw has 1st RD talent/size/speed but was suspended for lying about an ankle injury which questions his character. As for passing on a pass rushing D lineman, we invested heavy there last year. At DE, Houston, Young and Allen are under contract yet. Washington is starting to show some ability too. DT- I would re-sign Paea who is showing flashes of his ability, Ratliff is older but still under contract and then Ferguson/Sutton are there to develop/rotate.
  12. And to think we need to pour more resources into our defense going into next year. I didn't expect us to be good this year or as bad as we are. I thought the offense would continue similar production while the Defense would slightly improve. This team is in a rebuild process and I see this taking two more drafts to fill the cupboards.
  13. Unfortunately so. If Trestman is on a 1 more year leash, then what D coordinator will accept a job coming into a "lame" season if they decide to make changes? This is why they are they are a circus show, this is why they cannot hire competent established coaches. This happened in Lovie's tenure and continued into Marc's. The only change I see going into next year is promoting Paul Pasqualoni into DC. I had to chuckle when seeing "Chris Harris - Defensive Quality Control" and wonder what his job entails to be in control of quality?
  14. I agree and have mentioned this after the NE or GB debacle. I have a new thought. Bellichek is Coach/GM of NE. I wonder if he would be interested in becoming President of football ops? He is a mastermind of putting together NE's dynasty as coach/gm, but he is now 62... and may want to get off of thefield and still follow his passion.
  15. I have no disrespect for Lovie, he was a players coach and had a great D when the players were in there prime. He couldn't put together an offense and was terrible in the draft, and yes he had a lot of say in it. He also made bad decisions in managing a game.....challenges/time clock. He did prepare his team well and seemed to keep the team in games if losing. If only it was Lovie DC, Trestman OC and someone like Gruden as HC, then to see were this team would go. I will give Lovie an applause Sunday and I think all the fans will too.
  16. I'll add Todd Haley, Pitt OC. He was on Arz list of coach candidates but wasn't interested. He has revived Big Ben this year. He would be worth a name drop...even though I think he's annoying.
  17. They never seem to be in position to draft a QB, they haven't been able to draft or groom any key positional positions like DE, OLT, or QB. Those are positions that make franchises and we have had to spend or trade premium prices for. Having a awful year might be a blessing, but im sure we would waste it on a player we would try to convert from a S to a DE.
  18. He is an Indiana boy, played for Purdue, and now runs his home state Colts. That will be a tough sell. Money can buy a lot, but not sure it can buy this. I see his brother is director of college scouting for the Arz Cardinals too.
  19. I say no thanks. Would you want him because he coached Cutler before? I think we have catered to Cutler enough. If he screws up, they need to start sitting him.
  20. I believe for the most part that the head coach hires his coaching staff. I wonder if Emery or even Trestman were really our first choices. Emery "had" to keep Lovie year one, and Trestman was to keep Marenelli or the defensive scheme. A real GM or coach wouldn't have accepted those stipulations unless they were desperate to get their foot in the door. This brings me back to the real issue and that is the owners and team president. The Bears will never be taken serious unless the change takes place from the top. I'd rather let these jokers make fools out of themselves until the fans return the favor by hurting their pocket books back. Maybe after enough revenue loss, they will sell or invest properly by unleashing control of managing the organization.
  21. They are already running 15 minutes late. Wonder what is going on? Emery and Trestman don't look like guys that would run late for anything. Is there something significant coming?
  22. Sure they can fire those two, but to right this sinking ship, action has to begin from the top. It makes me sick to think what team hires Emery, makes him keep Lovie. Then Lovie gets fired and they hire Trestman, but make him keep Lovies D and hire a DC that would accept that. I would like to see someone like Parcell's come in and clean house.
  23. I wouldn't even know were to start as the gm of this team. We need about 5 first round picks...smh
