  1. We really need to throw away our 2013 memories of the horrendous D. This is a new year and with luck, this unit can stay healthy and show us something. They are working on the flaws, which a lot of it came down to being out of position. The positive point on this is Bostic and McClellin are pushing themselves into possibly starters. If they fail, we have a vet DJ Williams who can step in. If they succeed, we have two young/fast LBs that can attack, which Tucker uses the Mike/Sam in his blitzs.
  2. Looks like I threw a dart and hit a bullseye. Palmer has a strained pectoral http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,5863426.story Signs of Johnson and Fales taking all the 2nd team snaps led me to think something was not right with Palmer.
  3. How great will that be if things fall in place and these two excel (Bostic/Shea). Give Greene this season to continue grooming into Briggs replacement, and you also have Jones developing.
  4. Wait until the 2012 grade too. But I think we are good now. The old regime has been shown the door.
  5. Exactly, just another dart that may or may not stick. Investing because he may have more to offer than any of the other 3 guys behind cutty.
  6. What it says, is something is possibly wrong with Jordan Palmer. Fales and Johnson took the 2nd team snaps at OTA's. Also, Palmer only has like 12 completions were Claussen has 157, so NFL game experience is also a factor.
  7. Definately a good guy. Our DB depth is forming nicely, and I can see another CB taken early next draft. If Fuller is as good as deemed, our CB line looks good.
  8. Also, Bostic playing SAM with 1st team and McClellin paying Mike with second team recently. Tim Jennings still working at Nickle and looks good against the run. Frey rotated with Fuller at #2 CB and Hayden took Tillmans place since he was absent.
  9. Sounds like the D line gained some insight. "Stephen Paea coming out & saying he's learned more in 3 weeks than his whole NFL career should speak volumes about this new coaching staff" Also seen Brock Vereen got first team reps at FS and looked good. Conte better be paying attention.
  10. Remember all the noise when Cutler was signed and how the Bears were crazy to give him that kind of money? Well, looks like the deal will fall in line or look great as other QBs contracts renew. Kaepernick signs 6 year 126 million, Cutler 7 year 126.7. Kaepernick guaranted 60 of it; Cutler 54 million. Just wait to see what Cincy does with Dalton and then Seattle with Wilson. Our front office is right there with understanding contracts, glad we are out of the tunnel and finally looking up as a team again.
  11. How about we move on and give this site some better Bears input? Realize that what you write is etched in stone, so give the WWW your best. Debate all you want and keep it friendly. Personal attacks and vulgar languange were not allowed on here before. This used to be moderated closely, and I think since this has been a classy forum, leniency was given. All I know is some great posters have moved on. I would like to see them back and see new additions. Peace
  12. Being a 7 time perennial probowler and probably the Bears best OLB in there glorified LBer history. He has been nothing but persistant at holding down that posisition. As for a play calling leader, he may not be. But as a leader the players can rally behind, watch, and listen too, he is definately a leader. If he comes back healthy, there's no reason that he cannot play at the probowl level. Trading him for potential is for a team in rebuild, but with the moves Emery made, we are not there. Today I don't see the point on trading one of your better players.
  13. Briggs and Tillman are the remaining leadership. They both need to pass the torch and teach the newbies as much as they can. On the line, Ratliff has that role. A third rd pick is no longer a need with a team that will have a hard time cutting youth this summer.
  14. Just looking into this with the new CBA. A player can receive a playbook whenever, but the coach cannot contact/talk to a player until April 16th. OTA's are about setting the tone of practices and seeing where/who is behind. I am not sure how many players are self preparing like the Bears Marshall, Jeffery, Cutler, Forte, Wilson, and Bennett, but they have put themselves ahead of the curve. Now we need someone on Defense that can unite the players for that type of unity and preparedness.
  15. I think Kyle Orton would have put up better numbers, check that Jim Miller....but Rex is our Quarterback.
  16. There were some pictures of the 3 day rookie practice. . . .
  17. You must not have read that post clearly because it said "if you can't tell I am being sarcastic" which was a tongue in cheek, overboard mockery of some of the bashing I see on certain Bears at times.
  18. Great guys to emulate. I also heard Marshall say he wants his career to match Chris Carters in terms of numbers. Having a steady offense the team can learn should only help all of the offensive players put up numbers. Great we are not juggling OCs anymore and hope Tucker can put together a solid unit to get respectability back for the D.
  19. I agree with that assessment and I believe that since they didn't have a head coach in line, their communication process with Brian wasn't clear because they didn't know exactly which way they would go with him. If Marenelli stayed I think Brian would have had his fairwell year. I believe he would've held the D together better with Marenelli as DC, but not with Tucker. Moving on was for the best
  20. Urlacher sucked, was overrated and a locker room cancer. Just like all the washed up Bears and the soon to be like Cutler and Briggs. As you can see, I am being sarcastic and don't understand the lack of appreciation it seems a lot of Bears receive. I understand the Bears trying to move on like a Pittsburgh would do. I think they went about it in the wrong way. They shoulda being more clear before negotiations about there intent to move on and tried to force him into retirement. From my understanding, Brian wasn't going to put his body through another year of NFL without great compensation. In his eyes, he felt his body would play for 5 million, the Bears wouldn't budge off two. He was upset there was no counter offers. So be it... he is retired
  21. The knock on Jones is football IQ. I guess he had trouble on the chalk board identifying responsibilities. Athletically he is gifted, but he may struggle learning.
  22. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this deal was done a long time ago and Marshall wanted to bring Mental Health Awareness month in big and held off the signing until today. He has been nothing but first class since becoming a Bear and he has been a big inspiration/leader for the young Bears. What will top it off is a Championship. Congrats Brandon!
  23. I've started looking at this last week too. I wanted to make a list of 2015 draft prospects. My list has S, CB, TE, DT, LB, OT, and WR. They were listed in my order of priority, which will change.
  24. I am hoping you are right. I think they also scheme the defense to give him freedom to attack.
  25. Signed a cb and rb that had productive college careers. They are both small, but might find a place.
