  1. Let the new HC pick his staff if you are going to fire Flus. It is not good to handcuff your hire
  2. Don't put Moore in that position, he don't have strong feet today to get in a phone booth fight.
  3. I think the Bears can move down if they can see past Williams. I would love for Maye to blow up the offseason to keep him in the top 2 names so Daniels, McCarthy can be taken at 5 to 12 and even Penix 15 or after. Nix will sneak into rd 1 too for the 5th year option.
  4. I think this is going to be a preview of the Superbowl.
  5. That is something he needs to overcome with trust in the line. He knows he can bail, so it isn't coming easy for him. The sad part is the Bears did little years 1 and 2 for him and he had to rely on his legs. This year you can see he is trying to stay in the pocket but still feels the pressure as his first reaction is to bail. Watch his reaction as he shrinks and loses downfield vision when the pocket starts to shrink. His inability to release on 1st or 2nd reads is also an issue after the scripted plays are through. I think it goes back to him only trusting his legs which if he doesn't overcome will be his exit. I would love to see him with MHJ a good Center and see if he can become something in the league, here or elsewhere.
  6. Used PFF. Still hate having no 2nd, but that is Sweat, so it is looking good.
  7. QBs: Purdy, Lawrence, Richardson, Stroud, Stafford, Smith, Willis, Murray, Howell, Williams/Maye/Daniels, and Young. The Bears could potentially trade down with NE, ARZ, or WAS and can help insure the have a bad record by giving them a loss.
  8. Undoubtedly he would. I think they have started to put pieces together, but it requires yearly investments to keep it running at a top level. Like dirt track racing, you have a limited budget because it is more of a hobby, but if you keep putting in high end parts with a new or vet driver, you at least have a car capable of winning. A young driver will make mistakes and might wreck, but put in a vet like Jeff Gordan and that car wins almost every race. Jeff Gordan in a run down car with bald tires might keep the car in the middle, but that is by driving the car within its limits.
  9. The graph website is need to compare careers. We mention Drew Brees starting off slow. Compare... https://www.nfeloapp.com/qb-rankings/era-adjusted/
  10. With another draft and FA class, they will upgrade the offense again. They need a compliment to Moore, dradt MHJ ans that would eventually slide Moore to WR2 and would be a scary pair. A vet FA like Higgens as a WR3 is possible too. Center needs a long term upgrade and is a key to KC/Phi offense success. Braxton Jones needs to add strength because he gives up too much space for my likings. I'd love to upgrade with a Wright type talent but can see them staying with Jones to use your chips to upgrade bigger holes. Coaching is going to be the wildcard. The defense has elevated, the offense not so much. I think Getsy can be decent but he is not brave enough to leave his philosophies to design the offense around the players. He needs a strong run game and a clean pocket with a QB that is on page with his receivers.
  11. Fields and the Bears O would need to consistently become good. Even Joe Burrow is lagging behind becoming Manning good. The Bears can draft a guy that I believe would have a higher starting line, just by the pieces they are putting in place. This GM believes in building the oline, something that was neglected for decades. Do they have the right coaches to design plays and teach the QB to do it is the next question.
  12. I will say it tells a story and you can see as long as you win and put up numbers, the graph keeps elevating. If Fields has a 400 yd, 5 TD game, his graph wouldn't hit a Rodgers or Manning level, but it would make his trend have a nice spike.
  13. By the games played data, Fields would be at the point to start climbing. He has a couple teams he could do this against too. At the end of the year, Fields should rise comparable to Lawrence.
  14. Good built teams rarely dip into the FA market, are rewarded compensatory picks, and if they do sign a player, they are usually cut (like Peppers signing in GB) and do not count against the comp pick scale. The day I see that in Chicago, I know they are yearly championship contenders
  15. Here is a look at the 2021 draft class. Davis Mills is flat, I added him later.
  16. Will we have the same cap space at the end of 2024 when JF becomes a FA if they don't sign his option? I am guessing we will be done and need to be signing our own by then.
  17. The Bears can hold onto JF and possibly get a 3rd rd compensation pick if he signs as a FA, so a 3rd rd pick is not worth losing a starting QB for. The Bears do not need to trade him just to trade him. A rookie QB tends to do better learning the system and speed of the game from the sidelines, so I would lean on JF for that and to either increase his value while baking his replacement. The Bears could trade him before the deadline too if QBs go down again like dominoes.
  18. I think Poles has a trade value set in his mind for JF, it will be similar as he had for Johnson CB as to what it would cost him to replace that player. He will ask for appriximately a 20th overall pick. If the Bears had to buy a QB to be just an average starter, you figure that price. If no one buys at that price, you keep him. The NFL is down to no names lining up with the rash of injuries.
  19. Losing out as killakrzydav said could make the draft scary by having two high picks. MHJ and Williams/Daniels would get the hype going.
  20. With Arizona stuck with Murray, this will be their selection at 2 or 3. Maybe 1 if Carolina wins. I think he would make our offense much better having a #1 to pair with Moore, but that means passing on the best QB. TE Bowers would be another asset, but I think a stud LT would help elevate Kmet to be more involved as a receiver if he doesn't have to help block. Taking Bowers, IMO, would be a luxury for 2 TE sets and not as beneficial as taking another position. Edge is also a worthy position, but with Sweat, I can see letting that position slide a round. Can Poles pull another rabbit out of his hat and win another draft by getting a WR and QB combo, all while gaining a 2nd to get another DE.
  21. They did a bit on Thomas on the LSU series. He seems destined to be a star. Just haven't seen him high on draft boards yet to draw my attention.
  22. Watching The Path- LSU Football this morning. I am not an LSU fan but it really makes you like Jayden Daniels as a person/player. If the Bears have the top pick, it will come down to Williams, Daniels, Harrison Jr, and Maye going top 5. If the Bears don't take MHJ at 1, he will go to ARZ. New England is going QB without a doubt. Without deep analysis on these QBs, I would be happy to move down to 2 or 3. Draft day would be boring to take 2 studs and then have to wait until the 3rd for our next selection, so getting a 2nd is going to be in the works. Would NE trade a future 1st and a 2nd to go from 3 to 1. Bears can draft Williams/Daniels at 3, Nabers/Bowers with the 2nd 1st (5-8), and an edge with the 2nd Rd, and Center round 3. If the Bears hold on to JF, the rookie can learn the speed of the NFL. If the lose JF in FA next yr, he will sign somewhere and that signing will net a 3rd compensation pick so they get another year of services for that at minimum. They can trade him up to the deadline for more too as injuries can make teams desperate. Not all needs will be filled in the draft, but Daniels, DJ Moore, Nabers/Bowers, and an upgrade at C would make a great start to building the offense.
