  1. Have to put every tackle in this group too. They are almost all eligible to playing inside.
  2. As soon as they announced the cap raise it was a given. If KC had no room but to go to Mahomey it was a possibility. Now to Dalman
  3. Braxton is not bad, he is serviceable as we have seen. The goal is to have greatness and if you can find it at LT, you covered one of the toughest positions to draft. This draft is not looking good to get that so far unless some arms measure longer or a guy like Simmons shows clean health. The Bears have to deeply analyze this class because the blueprint says this is their last draft in the top half or even top 10 for many years. Banks might be a great LG that can play LT year 2. Your guy Zabel, who might sneak into round 1 can possibly play every position. If he is there with our 2nd, he'd be a nice addition. Donovan Jackson, they say doesn't move well so he might not fit what the Bears want to do.
  4. I think we all learned the Poles don't know much about the oline and he will listen to Johnson and Roshar for their input. Poles has thrown 6 darts in the draft, signed a dozen or so free agents, and traded for 3 or so. We are looking at Darnell Wright, Kiran, Braxton, and Bates as our roster today. They will be active in fa and the draft and if the like a LT in the draft, they won't hesitate bc they have 2 guys already on the roster. I see Campbell gone myself, so imo it comes down to Banks, DE or trade down.
  5. I am surprised no one has brought up much about the interviews from the combine. Poles said the Bears will have competition for LT when he was asked. Now we don't know if he means Kiran or a draft pick, but Braxtons job is not a lock.
  6. For sure, Poles and Johnson talked to Jentry right away. I just see that #1 pick going to D or Oline, or trade down. Jentry would be a great pick next year if the oline is established.
  7. Drafttek I believe uses a newer version. https://www.drafttek.com/nfl-trade-value-chart.asp 100 points= a 3rd(in the compensation slots which is pick 100)
  8. The Bears need to have an established oline first in my opinion before spending your big coin (1st) on a RB. I can see Rd 2 or 3 if there is a bpa. Like you said, he may draw a trade and maybe Dallas bites. How much does trading 12 for 10 get us.
  9. With 80 million, they could do more than we are conditioned to. We know they will most likely sign or trade for one DE which will eat 20 million give or take. They could also pay Trey Smith 20-25 million and sign Dalman, Shelton, or Kelly for Center. Sign a vet min WR, DT, and TE and the draft is lined up to take BPA and of course get another starting guard. The scenarios will be unlimited but they can get a couple big names without hurting the long run.
  10. They won't be able to sign any big names much further down the road. If they are going to do it, this is a good year so they can prepare for Calebs year 4 by front loading deals. With being nearly 80 million under the cap, they can get 1 for sure and most likely 2, no more signing all mid level guys. It is time to make a real push and bring in a Trey Smith and Josh Sweat. It's just my opinion. The Bears want to raise ticket prices 10+%, they better put a winning team out there.
  11. I like what Kiran can develop into and Braxton most likely walks after the season, so I am more on the draft a LT wagon than sign one right now. We watched Braxton for 3 years and sure he isn't the worst but I want a guy who is here for 10 years locking that spot down, so I wouldn't give him a 2nd contract. I'd take your proposal for Dalman and Zeilter over Smith. I am so tired of the Bears center carousel since losing Kreutz. They need a legit starter and a worthy draftee to develop. Do not be shocked to see a RB in round 2. The run game is the most important part of Ben Johnsons offense. I see them going OL/DL and RB with the first 3 picks.
  12. A 10% average hike in the ticket prices and the 3rd highest cap should be one or two big swings. The Bears have 3 cheaper years left with Caleb and if he is what we drafted him for, he will be extended before the 5th year. So if Poles is going to swing for the fences, this is the year to do it. Some names I'd like to see them contact. Some homerun swings: Oline: Ronnie Stanley LT, Trey Smith G, Drew Dalman C DE- Khalil Mack is he still regarded a DE1, trade Micah Parsons, Myles Garrett
  13. The Bears freed up 10.5 million in cap today. I don't mind losing Everett but Demarcus Ware at least showed up once in a while amd seemed like a good teammate. I hope this means there is a chance to get a prize FA or two. We are about 3 weeks for the big wave to hit.
  14. True, but he is that guy right now. We can trade for Garrett/Parsons, but it might cost multiple 1sts. They can draft one, but rookies rarely become that premiere guy for a couple years. I feel the Bears concentrate on the offense this season and go with what they have at DE while adding a later round developmental guy and maybe a fa.
  15. Like detroit going through new coordinators, so will the Bears. I think we have some really good ones, but it does take some adaptation time. The key piece to me is the DE 2, that might not get brought in if we concentrate on fixing the offense first. Can Booker take that step? That might be what they lean on.
  16. I've heard TreVeyon Henderson RB Ohio St compares to Gibbs also. Then there are rumors the Bears are heavily scouting Kaleb Johnson who is a little bigger. As much as I like Roschon, and as important as having a good run game means to making this offense work,I think we need to prepare to see one taken rounds 1-3. Have to have a solid plan to get the best oline group first though.
  17. I have only been reading on him. I have not dived into video clips, but I am sure he has bad plays as all players. Below is from Draftbuzz. I've seen multiple reports similiar. https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Will-Campbell-OL-LSU After studying the film, moving Campbell inside would be a mistake. Despite the shorter arms, his exceptional technique and recovery ability demand a shot at tackle. Put on the Ole Miss tape - he repeatedly shut down wide-9 rushers with textbook kick-slides and precise hand placement. The tools are there for a decade-plus starter who can anchor an offensive line and earn multiple Pro Bowl nods. Mark it down: Campbell goes in the top 10 and becomes one of the NFL's premier offensive tackles
  18. It all depends if they can get all the pieces and they respond early enough to coaching. I see them being one major player away, which could come as a trade deadline addition. The hardest part is filling all the needs on both lines and the time it takes a rookie to get up to speed mentally and physically
  19. And a leader is what Will Campbell will bring to the line, of course in time as he has to earn it. It is also why I lean on Milum in round 2. His power and intelligence is plug in play for an attacking offense. I want the Bears to balance how they rebuild the line. Two in the draft and two in FA. I can sacrifice some defensive draft talent as long as they get the offense set. The Bears cannot steer away from Caleb. It might cost them contention for a year, but 2026 watch out
  20. I will add to this, Flus wanted his line lighter. From experience, it means lighter weights and more repetitions and changing body composition quickly takes it toll. Johnson I believe wants more beef and strength. His preference is to attack the defense and run the ball with no hesitation into a gap. This gives the d-line little time to control multiple gaps and give the d-backs time to play the run. What Johnson does here with Roshar is unknown. The outside zone scheme has been somewhat decoded by Vic Fangio. I assume it will be a variation of his and Roshars.
  21. It was only about them being ranked around top 10 and the arm length. Big difference is Campbell uses his hands so we'll and is very vocal. He would be a great addition to lead the line imo.
  22. I'm good with Simmons of he tests healthy. Campbell to me is very similiar to Peter Skoronsky a few years ago. Stud LT in college, but now playing guard. Campbell is a leader and will command the room, smart enough to call the line protections, has great punch, foot movement and core strength to play LT in NFL. His only fault is his arms will be under 34". He can overcome that with his foot and hand speed. If he fails, the Bears still have a leader and stud G. I'm not a fan of spending a top 10 on a G though.
  23. If Will Campbell falls to 10, he isn't a 34th ranked player. He might have limitations at LT, but he is so technically sound his limitations are not easily exposed. He needs to become a better run blocker is his biggest knock. He also faced SEC competition weekly, so he has faced as close to NFL as you can get. He would be a guy who can also play pretty much all the positions across the line, so if he ends up not excelling at LT he can move to G. If he is not there or he is not a Poles guy with having shorter arms, then Graham DT or Nolan DT are the only worth guys in that #10 range.
  24. Kiran sure didn't look the part. I wouldn't pass on a LT with Braxton Jones down to one year and Kiran a work in progress. The interior will be fixed with a 2nd round prospect and FAs.
  25. The NFL announced the salary cap will be increasing from 255 million to 277-281 million for next season. This will give the cheifs 20-25 million to re-sign Trey Smith.
