Schedule release (building it as it comes out)
They did GB a favor here. We can't destroy the Pack on opening night, but get a Minny who may struggle on O. Then off to Detroit, which might be the game of the week.

Battle at LT
Rookie camp is basically showing them around the campus, getting equipment, teaching formation and basic play languages, and then seeing how well they can retain instruction in drills. The veterans had camp, so they are a step ahead. They want the rookies up to speed so when they all meet they are green light.

Battle at LT
Heard there was video out there and there was some contact, which is a no no. But I am happy he is looking smooth and we get the best LT out of the 3 we have competing.

And fast forward through the commercials. I think it is also dumb. Games only on stream (Prime/Peacock) are dumb also.

Inside information
I dont know where this Loveland is a great blocker comes from. He needs to develop this part of his game, hes a hard worker so he should. He is called a TE, but really a big WR. I added some draftbuzz scouting reports. Imagine Kmets stats if he had a QB other than Fields who did find him more or a rookie QB who had too much on his plate and struggled most games until the 4th Qtr. DJ Moore had better stats in Carolina. So is the problem the players or the Bears (coaching)
-
Sack Reduction
Loveland is closer to WR Tat McMillan because he will be a slot/move TE. Loveland and Burden will rotate while Kmet stays at TE or if they want to go better blocking put Smythe in. You wont see Loveland inline like Kmet/Smythe. Kmet is paid decently, so the Bears could trade him before his final year. That would be smart to get value. Since the Bears are paying all their QBs 13 mil total, they can splurge the extra money right now. The Bears have technically 4 more years of this benefit. That's a lot of years to draft players and balance the team for long term success.

Saw this on twitter
The owners share profits and markets like the Lakers and Dallas bring in a lot more than Utah or Charlotte. It could be a collective agreement as the Bulls were given Rose and Cleveland Lebron in the lotto, so the cheat is spread around year to year.
-
Inside information
The numbers won't be as great as that, but it's the idea of two TEs that can work on the field together. If you replace the receptions on NE going down to Moore, Odunze, Loveland, Kmet and shave some from each of those for Burden.

Yes, they are releasing games as teasers. Im still predicting Bears at GB opening week, Sunday night football.

It's an entertainment business. If you think teams like the Bulls lucked out to land homegrown Derrick Rose with a 1.8% chance then Cleveland lands home grown LeBron and many others, then let me sell you some sand (if your near a beach). Listen to LeBron

Off topic, but I searched Twitter for NBA draft lotto rigged. It is being discussed. My thought is the NBA is rewarding Dallas for trading Luka to LA. They had 1.8% odds to land the #1. I hope the NFL never adopts a lotto bc it can be rigged. Think about it...Ewing to Knicks, Rose to Chicago, LeBron to Clev. There are so many coincidences. Even LeBron said it on Macafee show.

Welcome to the new Bears camp. EB will let them know if he doesn't like something he sees.

Inside information
If Ben Johnson prefers the Laporta type TE and Kmets role is TE 2 or blocking, then I agree with Phoenix that he will be traded sooner than later. But Johnson isn't going to do exactly what he did in Detroit and might find a way to implement both. With the personal they have, they can run so many formations that will defenses won't know how to defend

Inside information
Rumors are the Bears are working on extending Bagent so they don't outright lose him in FA.
-
Inside information
If they ever trade him, it will be because a bigger need rises and they need his cap value. Let's say the Bears go into 2026 needing 2 safeties and they miss out in the draft like they did on RBs. Kmet might be an asset that the Bears can trade for a good, vet S.

UDFAs
Maybe since it was on barstools? He could be developed into the role Dennis Allen has said he wants Kyler Gordon to take. Having a backup that can step in and have little or no drop would be great. Or as Lucky said, maybe take Byards spot in a year. Signing a UDFA that can become a starter even better.

UDFAs
Oregon Duck Safety, Tysheem Johnosn could be a gem. Oregons best defensive player undrafted due to size. Dennis Allen has turned small DBs into great players. https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-bears/former-exec-says-tysheem-johnson-was-outright-robbery-by-bears/

Pope Leo XIV
It's pretty sad how rumors spread. It was said Pope Leo was a Cubs fan. Not a chance his brother said. He is Whitesox all the way.
-
Sack Reduction
The oline added will help but having an offense that will open WRs and not have them run to the same spot will help even more. The group we had last season might have looked decent with this coaching.

Updated 53-man roster (post draft)
I saw a Swifty pod and he said it looks like the Bears will be over the cap once they sign the rookie class. They will have to cut Ryan Bates and Chris Williams to get them around 3 million under. Extend Thuney and they have a little more wiggle room, but it will put the Bears around 10 million under next year.
-
Joe Thuney extention?
My guess is they have monetary agreements with agents to get the news first. Agents need rumors to drive prices up and reporters need inside info to be the best.
-
Joe Thuney extention?
You won't get inside info, just guesses. Every day the internet is filled with bears are signing JK Dobbins, Nick Chubb... releasing Cole Kmet and Ryan Bates etc. The guesses are obvious moves they could make, but they are just working on clicks. Kaplan might be the closest to being correct on his rumor from what Poles said, buy we don't know how far apart Thuney and the Bears are for contract details.
-
Joe Thuney extention?
All I can find is David Kaplan saying he had Ryan Poles on his show last Thursday and Poles mentioned he is working on a 2 year deal amd expect it to be signed in a few days. https://t.co/wVVaEvPcXl

2025 Schedule/Opponents - Oh boy
Production wise, they were equal. But speed wise, Golden had 4.29 to Bryants 4.61. I'm happier w Burden on our side. Golden replaces Watsons 4.36 but sacrifices in some size. I hope our DBs figure out Loves toss ups and start picking those off.
