ND brought it and took it today. I am a huge Domer too. This was the first game I got to watch this generational player and thought he has some aspects but didn't win on this stage. He has a handful more games against top teams so he can rebound but I am not sold just yet.

I would hate to miss out on a Mahomes but I remember the Brady Quinn or Jimmy Clausen hype too thinking they would be Joe Montana. Drafting a rookie will mean at least one maybe two years with no expectations. Most likely new coaches and some turnover in players to get the right scheme fits.
-
If they change coaching, then it is time for a mini re-build QB and schemes. Getsy looked good last week having the offense ready, plays with receivers open, and Fields able to read what the defense was giving and didn't really good. He had some hiccups with ball misplacement or hesitation a few times but also made some spectacular throws. Minnesota will be a great test to see if the Bears can put 3 good offensive performances together. If so, we might see or hear how the queens have a poor db group, but we need to see the progress grow weekly.

Caleb also has some question marks like Fields with waiting longer for plays to develop and getting happy feet to vacate the pocket. Fields listed at 6-3 and Williams at 6-1 brings some size issues but better than Bryce Young 5'11. He will be facing some tough opponents in the next few weeks to gauge how he plays. This is his make or break moment. Either way, both guys playing lights out should be good for the beloved. Notre Dame 21, Utah 16, California, Washington 7, Oregon 8, and UCLA 18.

If Fields plays more like the last two games, it will make the offseason decision interesting for sure. A.) You can acquire 2 years or more of additional 1st and 2nd round picks to build with B.) You can draft Caleb Williams who we can maybe compare to Joe Burrow for an idea. Career stats below. I also did a trade down mock because those are fun. Trade 1 for 4, 38, 69 and 2025 1 and 2. Trade 4 to Arz for 7 and 10, and 2025 2nd. I would think a 2026 1st would also be part of it, but the site doesn't go that far. 2 -Marvin Harrison Jr WR-big target paired with Moore. Fields won't miss like he does with Mooney 7- Olu Fashanu LT - OT will be set for many years 10- Brock Bowers TE- DE is a huge need, but building a dream team O 38- JerZhan Newton DT- Flus gets a disruptive pass rusher at the key 3T 39- Sedrick Van Pran C - long term solution to make the Oline great. 68 JT Tuimolua DE 70 Jack Sawyer DE -back to back OSU DEs 101- Bucky Irving- explosive change of pace RB that will dice Defenses that play 2 deep Safeties.

I enjoy Chase's breakdowns. The oline looks tough and the biggest thing missing is the feel for Mooney. Get MHJ in the draft and this offense can be a wreaking crew. Not every week will be like the past 2, but Fields is starting to show he can be a QB1. I hope he builds and makes this offseason a thriller?

I was going to post about Terrell Smith. He has challenged Stevenson all camp and has played pretty good in his limited action. He slid because of an injury and many teams noted they wanted him. Might be another player we will praise Poles for taking.

I'm sure there will be many late round RBs guys that could be taken. I liked him last year in the mocks so he stood out.
-
That is all the website offered for the draft trade. I stated I would need more. Blake Corum RB was one of the top RB all last year until he injured a knee. He is playing well this year and fits the Bears run scheme. Foreman is gone after this year, so the Bears could be eyeing another RB to have ready to take the #2 spot once Herbert leaves after 2024. The could go more gadget as you mention.
-
Crazy to see Kmet as the top TE, but he has the extra game. If the Bears can put up another game like Washington, the could have top 5 QB, WR, and TE.
-
As long as he can get the Bears a Superbowl W, I will be alright with a QB that isn't Manning or Brady. Those guys a few and far to find. Keep drafting QBs and maybe we find a Brady.
-
I would need more, but traded #1 overall to Raiders for pick 3, pick 73, future 1st and 2nd. Bringing in a top WR to pair with DJ, stud LT and C, then doubling up on DE and DT again. Also ensuring we have another deep draft in 2025.
-
It takes time that Bear fans have little patience for. I hope he keeps it up because having 41 different starting QBs over 20 years of waiting for one to blossom stinks. We finally have a GM that knows how to build. Injuries so far are shadowing this but it will show.
-
We have to remember they are playing with many new players. This is year two of a difficult offense to learn too. Plus the amount of injuries has changed many aspects with making sure lesser talent is ready to go. If game 1 was Denver and game 2 Washington, I feel the Bears could have won the GB game and been more competitive against TB/KC. If they can continue to make progress, then the sky's the limit. The amount of talent and depth they can add after the season should make the Bears very competitive. As for Fields, he can get himself accumulated to the league with the good protection and better talent at WR. He has not had that to grow and if he continues like the last two games, he can become what we hoped this last offseason. Trade the #1 over all for 2 future 1sts and more and wowzers.

We need to get a bag of balls with that.
