Poles and Flus don't seem worried about moving olinemen. Jenkins and Borum moved around last year. This year they are moving Whitehair over to C and Jenkins moves again to the LG. I'm not saying put the rookie at LT year one if they don't feel it, but put your best 5 out there. Keep the pipeline full with talent. This all hinges on Jalen Carter. That could be why Poles is bringing I'm 2nd Rd OT prospects so he has his OT prep ready for all scenarios.
-
I don't look at it as they are drafting for RT. I look at it as if Paris Johnson locks down the LT spot for 10 years and plays at a high level, then you shouldn't pass that up.
-
Tyler Steen is a OT that would fit our blocking scheme. If the Bears go D in the first , I would not be shocked if he was one of the Bears 2nd RD picks
-
I think he would be a nice piece for a reserve but not with one of our top 2 or 3 picks. We need players that we expect to be plugged in. If we knew he is a for sure Center then maybe but I see him more as a G to be honest.
-
The Bears got to coach him in the senior bowl. They would know best on what he is capable of. I believe he really shined well that week too.
-
They say positional value goes QB, Pass Rusher, OLT, WR, and then shut down CB. Lovies D never needed the elite CB so we can spare that. The Bears pass rush starts at 3T, if Carter isn't available I'd take the best OT. The OTs at the top are believed to be flexible to play either side. Why not break them in on at RT and if the coaches think they are best at LT and an improvement over Brax Jones, move them to the LT. Braxton was interviewed and mentioned he is preparing to play either side. He prefers the LT, but wants to play.
-
Like QB, pass rush skills are a premium. These guys go rounds higher than he has slotted because of it.
-
Maybe for #1 overall, but a QB compared to Deshaun Watson and was putting up elie numbers until he tore the ACL will garner some 1st rd consideration. Be a perfect place for a team like Detroit who has Goff. We will see in a few weeks.
-
I think Detroit takes Hooker with their 2nd 1st rd pick. If he stayed healthy, he could have been in the talks for #1 overall.

Stomberg is my sleeper pick at C. He scores pretty high in IQ, nastiness, and movement. His 3 cone, verticle, broadjump, and shuttle rank up towards the top. I like Wypler bc of OSU and then Stomberg. Freeland is also in the wheelhouse if we trade down and pass on Johnson/Jones to go DT. He is also an athletic freak putting up WR/TE agility.

I Never Thought I Would Be Weary Of Mock Drafts!

I agree. The WR and TE group is so much better and should be a strength. I think we have our Thomas Jones Jr in Foreman and Herbert can put up big games himself. We might have room for a gadget RB like Cohen who can be a menace for Ds too. Get that solid RT early and I'd agree they are pretty well set. If we can grab a top Center it would be a bonus for having years of oline excellence. If Fields cannot pocket pass after these additions, we have a good shot with Carolinas pick to end up with next year's QB1 or 2. -

I don't mind the trade but knowing now it is pick 32, makes it sting a little. Claypool will be much better with an offseason to learn. This offense could be a fun one to watch. -

It would be great to move down and still land one of the top OTs. That high 2nd would be nice -
I am now worried about the Raiders since they signed Jimmy G at QB. Many mocks have the taking Paris Johnson or Broderick Jones. I'd assume they would take Carter too if he drops that far.
-
Who would be the 3T at 9? Lukas Van Ness or Kancey? Jalen Carter should be gone, if not he is worth a hard thought to take. I feel better getting the offensive linemen over those two at 9. Poles hired a defensive coach to coach up those players.
-
Hoping you get more Braxton Jones should not be the draft plan either. Get the best OT and C. Then spend whatever draft picks you want on the defense. Not only does that protect your franchise but it makes the other offensive pieces better.
-
His first year was dismantling the team and getting the highest draft pick he could. That is great, now use the resources to give Fields the best opportunity to stay healthy and become a top 5-10 QB. He got WR help, now give him a strong oline so he can get the ball to the weapons. 2022 free agent: Dustin Jones DT - big contributor Byron Pringle WR - gone Al-Quadin Muhammad DE -gone Lucas Patrick OG/C - will see? Nicholas Marrow LB - gone Equanimeous St Brown WR - re-signed Khari Blasingame FB - re-signed Dakota Dozier OL gone Trevor Siemian Qb - gone Kyler Gordon CB- promising Jaquan Brisker SS - best pick, probowl? Velus Jones WR - up for grabs Braxton Jones LT - promising Dominque Robinson DE-developmntal Zach Thomas OL - gone Triston Ebner RB - practice squad/goner Doug Kramer C - developmental? JayTyre Carter OL- develoomental Elijah Hicks S - ST/developmental Trenton Gill P - promising

They tried then but here we are. They tried a little harder so far this offseason which is inspiring. All I am saying is you have Justin Fields, make him the priority before he gets injured bad or loses the confidence he has left and you are back to square one. Hearing Poles is doing it the right way is what we heard with every GM's first year or two since Angelo left. The Bears might have first dibs on the best offensive lineman in the draft, what is that worth...RT McGlinchey signed 5 yr 87.5 million. I believe that is the route to go. Get Fields the pieces now and then they can go all out on D early next year. Especially if the offense looks special and d is a few pieces away.
-
It is true. I planned on going to that game.
-
Normally 2nd round is where a team should go, imo. Unless you feel that is the piece that puts you over the top, then late first.
-
I think he would be too big of a risk at 9 due to his size, but if we can take him round 2 I would be for it.
-
This was one player I wanted the Bears to draft a few years ago. Poles snatched up a good prospect and we will see if Eberflus can get more out of him than the Rams. I see him being more of a 3rd down specialist where he can get after the QB.
-
Maybe all it takes is a new opportunity. We played Dominque Robinson mainly because we wanted to lose, but Lewis would have been a better option.
-
Don't forget about Terrell Lewis. I think he fits in the rotation this year as he spent the end of the season on the practice squad and then the Bears signed him onto the roster this Jan. Walker, Gibson, Robinson, Lewis, and 1 2nd round rookie.
