  1. Since we are going KC connection route, watch them hire Beinemy and he makes Nagy the OC. How would that taste? Actually I heard QB coach Mike Kafka is an up and comer. He could be a OC target. I kind of hope Pole goes his own route. We did the Saints route and then the Chiefs. We need to create our own route. He did give the Ole Lovie quite of hit the road running...or get off the bus.
  2. So if Polian was hired to consult back in November, then the leaked rumors that Nagy was getting fired were true. The Bears were busted, played stupid, and didn't know what to do . Hence the many days it took for them to make a public. statement about Nagys job. Nagy or Pace probably confronted George about this and they cowered and told them their jobs are safe and they will be evaluated at the end of the season. So they held off contacting candidates because if they did the leaks would have blown the roof off and potentially harmed the process.
  3. Rumor is Caldwell is canceling his remaining interviews and it is believed because he thinks he has the job in Chicago or Jax. He was one of the only coaches to bring winning seasons to Detroit.
  4. I have a feeling if Harbaugh was to return to the NFL, he would go to Vegas. I would be shocked if the Bears make an announcement and if they did, it would probably be McGinnis 2.0.
  5. Per Hub, Jim Harbaugh had a brief conversation with the Bears. I think if he were a realistic candidate, their would be more to the leak.
  6. I seen Olave on the sim and made the pick. He seems to be slipping to late 1st lately so maybe he could drop to the 2nd. Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 7: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State (A) - slim chance but possible. Bears add a familiar target for Fields. Round 3 Pick 34 (N.O.): Brandon Joseph, FS/SS, Northwestern (A+) -traded down and have landed a hometown kid who can be a ballhawk. Can play both S positions. Round 3 Pick 35 (N.O.): Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State (A+)- Another familiar target for Fields. Great blocker that takes advantage of targets. Round 5 Pick 5: Zach Charbonnet, RB, UCLA (A+) - Big RB with speed, like Javonte Williams. Runs through players, has good vision. Bears need to run the ball and wear opponents down. Keep stacking RBs. Round 5 Pick 7: Cole Strange, OG, Chattanooga (A+) - small school G that has the attention of many scouts. Push Daniel to C, Whitehair to RG and Strange to LG. Round 5 Pick 18 (N.O.): Josh Paschal, DE/OLB, Kentucky (A+) - universal defensive lineman at Kentucky, play him like Parsons in Dallas. Round 6 Pick 23 (ARI): Joshua Williams, CB, Fayetteville State (A+) small school CB that has attracted attention with his 6-3 length, quickness and knack to be a downhill defender. Round 7 Pick 24 (ARI): Jeremiah Hall FB/RB, Oklahoma (A+) - would like to see a true FB back in the stable again.
  7. Just to stir the pot a little more... Regardless of who the Bears hire as GM or HC, they will use the work of the current scouting department for the 2022 draft like when Pace took the job. I see no problem with them hiring a GM. What is the difference if they hire a Operations manager, it is still hired by the board. What I would like to see is a good GM that can eventually move into that role and build the football mind group.
  8. Thank God JF is not playing well because if he was, then we would get another 4 years of Nagys offense. Teams know they can pressure JF and he will make mistakes. Good players and coaches figure out how to beat that and right now JF and Nagy cannot figure it out.
  9. It would be awesome to see Trace Armstrong come in and clean house. I wouldn't mind if he kept Pace as long as he handcuffed him on trading. Love to see Trace shut the McCaskeys completely out of decisions because I think they have a huge input in players.
  10. I think it will take a good pre-season to know more about Jenkins. I hope his injury is not too bad because I'd like to see him get as much action as possible the remaining games. Either way, I think we have great bookends in the making. As for C, I wish Daniel's could make the transition because he may grade decent at G, he was supposed to be a potential all-pro C. Get a good RG in the draft and the line could go from below average to above.
  11. CB is a position I would prefer they spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on. Since those high picks are scarce next draft, I am alright starting with Johnson locked on one side and Graham/Vildor/FA/Shelly competing for the other side. Maybe take a flyer on another late round pick if there is someone they like but not sure how a late round will be able to lock that other side down. The following year I think they can go high with a 1st or 2nd. We can scrap TE Ruckert or the FB Horvath for CB but those are elements that I think can help the offense.
  12. I like Pickens and believe he would be a 1st round player but big injury makes him a risk. If he is there when our pick comes up, trade down and then if he is still there later, take him.
  13. I said it earlier and will say it again....trade down and get those extra picks. If we can move down enough in the 2nd to get a 3rd and possibly a 4th or 5th do it. Look at the contributors we are getting in those 3rd-5th rounds. We are not giving up on Jenkins/Borum, so OT is set. We may have found the #2 CB, so that may wait. If we sign William's to pair with Mooney, WR is not a must. We will need at least 1 S, preferably SS since we are stuck with EJack so 3rd round could net a decent player. I wouldn't mind spending a higher pick at DT since we are losing possibly both Hicks/Nichols. If a stud is sitting there at 37, then maybe not trade down. Your Picks: traded 37 to Cle 47 , a 3rd and 4th Round 2 Pick 14 (CLE): John Metchie, WR, Alabama (A) Round 3 Pick 5: Phidarian Mathis, DT, Alabama (A) Round 3 Pick 15 (CLE): Jarrett Patterson, OG/C, Notre Dame (A+) Round 4 Pick 14 (CLE): Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State (A+) Round 5 Pick 3: Nick Cross, FS/SS, Maryland (A+) Round 5 Pick 5: Zander Horvath, FB/RB, Purdue (C-) Round 6 Pick 4: Jack Sanborn, ILB, Wisconsin (A+)
  14. I remember mentioning Kyle Shannahan years ago for a HC search because of his adaptability as an offensive coordinator. He designed an offense for RG3 that was pretty exciting for a short time. He couldn't coach RG3 to slide though. Now i look at Greg Roman as that coordinator. I just want to have an offense that works and a QB that becomes great.
  15. I hope they clean house soon so they can start interviewing. I feel for Nagy since he came in and tried to his best to create an exciting offense but what he didn't realize is the playbook he swiped from the chiefs was re-loaded with fake plays which left him empty handed ? It would be great to see the Bears hire a front office of football minds, a gm that is an A+ student and a coaching staff that can mold to the players instead of the other way.
  16. Today there is a report the Bears spoke to Trace Armstrong about becoming the Head of Football Operations for the organization. Even though Trace said it was not true, I think that is the route the Bears need to go before deciding Paces fate. Get someone in place to find the GM. Maybe Pace moves up and Champ Kelly takes GM.
  17. Right now I'm in the boat to have the extra picks to increase the odds of finding those starters. Edit: added - I'd love to steal Devante Adam's from GB to replace AR. DAdams was also drafted 2nd RD 53rd pick. Having the QB that can do what Rodgers can do helps make WRs, so I am hoping Fields can do this for us.
  18. I know our 2nd round pick could be attractive to keep, trade down or if Pace is still in charge use to trade up. Since we used picks to trade up in the past, I would like to see a trade down once or twice if it can net us a some more top 120 picks. Let's say we trade down in the 2nd twice to get to pick 56. First trade to SF pick 2-38 for 2-49, 3-85. And 4-122. Then trade BUF for pick 2-49 for 2-56 and 3-87. This could give us a group of contributors/starters maybe not an all-pro, but a good core. 2-56 John Metchie WR AL 3-71 Josh Jobe CB AL 3-85 Bubba Bolden SS Mia 3-87 Jameree Salyer OG Ga 4-122 Jeremy Ruckert TE OSU 5-143 Tyler Goodson RB Ia 5-148 Tyreke Smith OLB OSU 6-185 Jack Sanborn ILB Wis
  19. Maybe it was a set up? Like a conversation at Halas Hall close to different employees to see if the story leaks. Maybe each convo had a different twist. I wouldn't put it past the beat writers to find out who the lower level employees and feel them out to see if they can get info from them
  20. That is it. The key to this team is Justin Fields. That means they have to hire the top offensive mind to be the HC so he doesn't get plucked away with Fields success. Since great OCs don't leave teams unless they get a promotion, that will be the hire. Luring college coaches may be getting more difficult with there increase in pay, so I think if the Bears make a change it will be within the league.
  21. Why not Greg Roman? He created the offense to fit Lamar Jackson in Baltimore.
  22. Fields had a decent day the first go round with Detroit. It would have been nice to seem him get another shot with a little experience under his belt. Watched part of the Ravens game last night and it would be nice to see an offense created for Fields like Roman did for Jackson. I think Fields could be better than Jackson tbh.
  23. Mack and Hicks both. Seems they both catch a bug around the time the team starts sinking.
  24. It was exciting at the time acquiring him. The pattern this team is in over the past 15 years needs to end. Throwing multiple picks at players has not worked. I would now rather draft Mark Anderson pass rush specialists over and over instead of dropping huge coin and draft capital for that final puzzle piece.
  25. Not sure this trade worked for either team. Fields better be the dude and the Bears better never trade a1st rounder again unless its trading down for more picks.
