I like it. He is a good defensive mind and should add experience that a young DC can lean on. Now to draft some OT's, WRs, and QB that can upgrade that side of the ball.

One thing if the Bears do trade for Wentz is they are off the hook for his guaranteed money. That accelerates and is on the Eagles to pay. Wentz may hold out until he gets a new contract or the Bears may avoid it like they did with Foles by giving him a new contract right away. Since the word is out that the Eagles and Wentz both want to move on and Wentz has had injury and performance issues, the trade commodity value is lower. I would guess the value is a 1st and the Bears can offer Foles and say Miller.

I can see a SS to try find a long term solution there. Starting with DT Barmore is possible, wouldn't mind it if they can get a OT RD2 or 3. As much as I want 2 starting OTs drafted, I can settle on one.

That is funny. Because of that, the cost for Watson is probably deeper than our arms.

For some reason since I'm envious of KC, I'm rooting for the old goat. Envious because we could've had a different QB and different situation. Also, would like to see Brady win one without the mad scientist HC.

There is a lot of hype with the Bears right now, but I would think they would have the medical info if they were indeed making offers. If they cost the same draft pick wise, is the 5 million extra for Wentz worth it? Does one of those two make the Bears the best? I know I wouldn't lose out on a top LT for a QB that Foles was at least as good as.

I understand the thought, but the Bears would have to get Lawrence or maybe Fields to justify the cost imo. I think we can talk about Hicks, Fuller, or Arob as trades.

I think taking on 38 million of dead cap would top the Texans for worst GM move. The Bears would need 2 first rd picks at least for that damage.

I do think the Bears can trade Hicks. Hate to see him go, but if he can give the Bears say 2nd round value and cap space, it helps the situation.

Mack is not going anywhere this year. Next year, they can shop him but still costly as his dead cap = another great players salary. His last year if they cannot trade him, I hope they do not cut him because of the compensation pick rules. Our luck GB will sign him, it won't hurt them from their comp pool and we won't gain comp value which would be 3rd rd value most likely. So I think he is a Bear until his contract expires unless we can trade him his last contract year.

I really do not want them to spend any draft capital, so that eliminates a handful of potential options. We bet on Foles, so I think he is option #1. Option #2, I would like to see them get a FA vet to compete with Foles. Not sure what he has left, but RG3 has experience in a Nagy style offense. Besides his mobility, he was also noted to have arm strength and accuracy. Can a QB guru get him on the right track and revive his game? It would be interesting and shouldn't cost a fortune. Option #3- draft the QB who has the traits but needs work (3rd-5th rd prospect). Jamie Newman, Tanner Morgan, Desmond Ridder, or Kellen Mond. Use the draft to strengthen the oline, find a #1 wr, and a couple defensive pieces. Come back 2022 and draft QB again. Get two young guns who can push each other until we have a good one.

It was a theory. But hey, we are 84 days, 3 hours, and 24 seconds until draft day. After the big game hopefully we can get some targets established for the beloved.

Knowing what we know know, yes. Looking back before the draft, Mahomes was just as much an unknown as Mitch. I may have said Mahomes comes from a professional athlete home, so he would know some ins and out to adjusting to pro life. That was one thing I liked about Mahomes. Mitch it was accuracy.

The Bears have shown interest in Michael Carter too with an official visit at the Senior Bowl. Also SB visits: Mac Jones QB, Tylan Wallace WR , Dillon Radunz OLT, Robert Jones OL

As for the owners selecting, this is mainly the first round bc after it gets too cloudy. The gm tells them this is 3 or 4 players that we think, then they make the pick. I'm sure this would have leaked, but it sure feels like some of the same moves over and over from GM to GM. I also say they are involved because they also lean towards "safe" players which they may have implemented after the tank johnson fiasco.

I think he would be a decent pick in the 6th rd if he's available. Montgomery, Carter and Cohen would give the position speed and duel threat run/catch. If he can add about 10# he'd be similiar to GBs Aaron Jones.

Michael Carter by chance? NC has 2 decent draftees and Carter is a late RD selection I think fits.

Wow. This tells you right here that you need to draft a QB every year even if you get one right. Become the factory and trade them for multiple firsts. Gives Detroit some tools to rebuild. Unfortunately they will waste one on a RB.

Then trade for Watson and now we are 25-30 million in the hole. The Bears are not players in any of this. Couple cuts and sign a few vet minimums will be the highlights as we are rolling down the hill

How far back does this go? Angelo, Emery, and now Pace. Is it the GM or is there a master behind the curtains pulling the strings? Is Virginia making these picks? The Bears might as well go the Raiders way and hire Mel Kiper. Since I do not think Pace or Nagy survive and are gone after next year, they should be forced to follow a safe draft script. As much as I would love to have a QB like that, how do you justify trading those assets for that salary. We are already in the cap hot basement. The Bears have to stop borrowing against the future and figure it out and get ahead. If they stopped being "cute" it is easy. How many smartest guys going against averages do we have to go through.
