Poles value chart. 1.QB, 2.OTs, 3. Pass Rush 4. CBs 5. LBs, 6. FS. Tells you how he might view the draft and FA. Bears may look OT and CB with 2nd and 3rd if they don't see a OLT on the roster.

I love reading the profiles while shopping. Really like this draft with a few trade downs. Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 12 (CLE): Phidarian Mathis, DT, Alabama (A) can play 3T in 4-3, 6T in 3-4. Round 3 Pick 11 (DEN): Christian Harris, ILB/OLB, Alabama (A+) Mike in 4-3. Round 3 Pick 14 (CLE): Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama (A+) size, speed, hands, routes... grades out high in all. Round 4 Pick 15 (N.O.): Brandon Joseph, FS/SS, Northwestern (A+) big, physical, can play either S position. Round 5 Pick 5: Darrian Beavers, ILB/OLB, Cincinnati (A+) will play SLB in 4-3, OLB in 3-4 Round 5 Pick 7: Zion Nelson, OT, Miami (A+)- LT at Miami, could compete with Jenkins/Borum Round 5 Pick 18 (N.O.): Cole Strange, OG, Chattanooga (A+) solid RT prospect Round 6 Pick 7: Zander Horvath, FB/RB, Purdue (A)- Mike Alstott 2.0. Would go higher if he didn't break fibula. He is the Derrik Henry or AJ Dillion big RB. Bears re-tool the D. Get starting 3T, two starting LBs, starting SS. On offense, they get pieces that could contribute right away at WR and RB and competition to eventually take OLT, RG. They will need to drop some money on offense in FA. Why not get a WR? They have been paying top coin to Arob, why not give that to Adam's?

I think we all feel refreshed like this after every new regime starts lol. The good part is the Defense should be a smooth transition with all of Fluses Indy personal on the staff. Offense will take some time and be a mystery. It is in Gets hands.

I don't think we will see too much cutting or trading. It just don't happen often in a tight cap structure. The NFL is also set up to reward teams to have players finish out contracts and reward comp picks when they move on. So if the Bears cut a bunch of their top players, a team like GB/NE can sign them, not lose draft compensation, and improve their team. Mack may take a pay cut to win a championship. If there are any, it may be to a guy like Jackson who has under performed. I think the cuts/trades will be minimal. The Bears have some talent the coaches need to tap into and design schemes to fit their strengths.

Would love to see D Adam's, no chance. DJ Chark, intrigued but it looks like he is not going anywhere. My number 3 is: Will Fuller - brings a deep threat that Fields would fall in love with if he can stay healthy. My Notre Dame bias doesn't help.

Good to see Lovie back I hope we didn't lose out on Marineli to Lovie.

It was from the blog posted earlier. Where they supposedly heard what Poles said in his interview. Which I doubt anyone heard https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-bears/ryan-poles-won-over-bears-with-brutal-honesty-on-current-roster/

I haven't payed attention to the damning measurable, other than we drafted a 1st rd talent at OT. Thanks Mongo lol. Poles said he liked Jenkins, so I feel alright for now. He doesn't like Borum according to the podcast.

Retooling will take a few years. Poles and Flus will have to work with some pieces they have and make the most out of the draft. I traded down a couple times to try and fill holes. Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 12 (CLE): Christian Harris, ILB/OLB, Alabama (B+) - meet the future Urlacher. Harris is a natural in coverage and starts at MLB. Round 3 Pick 7: Jordan Battle, FS/SS, Alabama (A+) versatile Battle takes over at SS and sparks a resurgence in Eddie Jackson. Round 3 Pick 17 (NYG): Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama (A+) - 6-3 190 the do-all Receiver without the big school hype. Round 5 Pick 5: Cade Mays, OG, Tennessee (A+) Big Nasty RG. Round 5 Pick 11 (PHI): Tariq Woolen, CB, UTSA (A+) small school CB that is climbing boards. Round 6 Pick 7: Clint Ratkovich, RB, Northern Illinois (A+) RB/FB/HB/TE - FB that can be used other than blocking Round 6 Pick 29 (PHI): Reggie Roberson Jr., WR, SMU (A+) - speed threat to stretch field.

I agree with looking at moving Whitehair back to C or maybe even Daniel's if he can be re-signed. Not sure I agree on the Borum assessment because he looked decent being a rookie. Maybe he was not the best selection if Jenkins/Borum are both only RTs. I still am curious at seeing Daniel's at C since Kreutz once thought he would be all-pro there. It would be easier finding a RG than a C.

He was different but I want to know why the Bears front office took nearly a week to come up with something.
-
Interesting. By chance did anyone ask him about the leak of Nagy getting fired after the Detroit game? I think there was something to it and George fumbled.
-
We can gain picks, but it will require trading down from the high 2nd. The only position I would take with that slot is a WR or DT.
-
The Bears reportedly contacted Harbaugh. My guess is he declined the interview either from past relationship experiences or he wanted power of GM/Coach. I am fine not having Harbaugh. I would like to see a front office built like GB, Indy, Baltimore, Pit and the coach isn't above the team.

I am good with it. Bring in Pep now to be QB coach
-
It looks like he has been a part of some good teams. Should be solid and he and Poles have a solid relationship, so he has someone close to him to lean on.

To transform the D, it might not take as much on the run. I seen an Opinion if Hicks leaves they replace with DeForest Buckner and can leave Goldman/Tonga in for run downs and find a 3T that can get pressure on pass downs. At DE, we have two greats. A Mike LB is a big need, so finding one that can play coverage in the flats LB/S mold will be familiar. One thing I recall about the Lovie years is all the Safties they seemed to draft, which we already need a starter or maybe two. On offense, the oline is actually pretty set if they get James Daniel locked up. Talk to Cody and James to see if they move one of them to Center or if that needs to be addressed by drafting or signing a FA. Signing a #1 WR to give Fields a reliable target is a priority, which I would love William's. Big FA needs: 5T to replace Hicks, #1WR to replace ARob. Re-sign Daniel's. Big Draft needs: MLB, C/G, S, Other needs - FA/Draft : CB, Will LB, WR, TE, 3T DT.

Seen Greg Gabriel tweet stating rumors Bears offered anyone a job a false. They have to go through a process of interviewing minorities (Rooney Rule) or can get in trouble.
-
The Fields do look greener in Chicago lol. Maybe GB and Den made offers but he wants to explore (Den interviewed him for HC). We will find out in a few days. Have to say, he has coached one of the greatest QBs for many years and helped him put up huge stats. If we can get 1/2 of that from Fields it would be good.
-
I have heard rumors that since Denver hired Nathan Hackett, GBs OC to be their HC that Aaron Rodgers will follow. I would think if Getsy is that good, Hackett or GB would lock him in quick.
-
Sounds like between Quinn, Caldwell and Eberflus, we may have got the diamond. One thing he will bring is accountability. If you loaf, you lose playing time. He will bring back a little bit of Lovie (hits) Hustle. Intensity. Turnovers. His style D is somewhat similiar too, meaning Roquan will be his prize Will LB. I worry about the offense but trust he has a plan since the Bears hired him. The Bears main focus was landing a coach with the best plan for Fields. Maybe Eberflus's plan was the defense will be so good the QB won't matter ?
-
HC Quinn 51 and OC Caldwell 66 combo could work. I know the NFL has gone pass happy for offense, but it still takes a great Defense to win it all. I always admired Quinns defenses and his first toy would be SS/LB hybrid. Caldwell is someone who isn't going to make players fit him, but he changes to fit his players. He can be a solid figure for Fields to grow with. Caldwell will build a balanced offense too.
-
Poles has completed his first interview for HC. Caldwell was still in town and just happened to run into Poles at the Meijer deli wearing a traditioal Ditka sweater vest. Kidding about being in town and the vest, but he did get the interview in.
