I look at this in a different light. I still believe that we will be playing off the ball for the most part however now our coaches are realizing that you need to play bump in run also, which is something we have failed to do in the past.
Didn't we upgrade our D by signing Marinelli and with Lovie taking over the play calling and also by the signing of Cutler. Seriously people really should look at everything that has happened instead of just basing it on last year.
I deliver the Sun Times but unfortunately didn't have time to read it this morning. Thanks Pix for posting it as I was going to try and find it myself. That is one of the better articles that I have read. Kramer tells it like it really is. Even when comparing his abilities to Jay's abilities.
I agree, if we can generate a consistent pass rush like we did couple of years ago, then our LB's will be playing to there strengths. We have a much better LB core now than we did back then so I think we could have a better defense.
If this was just his first offense I wouldn't have a problem but considering that he has had problems since his college days I don't want him that bad.
First of all Hester is a much better WR than a DB unless you were watching some other game during his rookie season. He was horrible as a DB and if my old age hasn't bitten me to much Hester improved quite a bit last year. There is a reason that Jones is still unsigned as of August 1. This club has shown in the past that it won't deal with headaches. We do have a person on our current roster that is 4 years younger and faster than Jones and has excellent hands. The only thing seperating the 2 would be that the guy I am talking about is 6'0 and Jones is 6'6". I am talking about Johnny Knox. Just watch I believe that he is going to be a stud in this league. Maybe not this year but then again Jones won't be a stud this year either.
I like Joey as well but of course kinda figured he wouldn't make the team. We have plenty of good LB's right now so they are going to have to excel at Special Teams to make it.
To further my point about Wade being jealous look at this list of QB's he has work with.
2003 Chris Chandler and Kordell Stewart
2004 Jonathan Quinn, Craig Krenzel and Chad Hutchinson
2005 Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman
2006 Kerry Collins and Vince Young
2007 Tavaris Jackson
2008 Tavaris Jackson and Gus Ferrotte.
Ouch that is a pretty sad list. Who is the best QB to throw him a ball??? lol
Obviously its slow otherwise no one would be talking about this. This is retarded. The better news on that same site is the one about Favre. Way to funny.
An expert that I respect was asked was asked about Minny's chances and he said that Minnesota still has a good team and could still be a playoff contending team but because they do not have a QB that can throw he sees them being just like last year and losing in the 1st round of the playoffs. Minnesota would have been better with Favre because Favre can still win games by himself and can stretch the defense because the defense has to respect his ability to throw deep and accurately. As of right now though they do not have a QB that you have to respect and teams will continue to stack 8 men in the box to try and shut down Adrian Peterson. Peterson is going to have win games however he will have an increased work load because of the QB situation and therefore will probably turn the ball over just as many times as he did last year. Lets also not forget that Minny still has no pass D.
