I don't think an uncapped year will hinder FA movement as it may increase it because you have teams like Dallas and Washington who have big pockets. It will absolutely kill a team like Green Bay.

Excellent point Pix. Everyone was so upset the way FA started out and now most of us can't wait for August. I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a Bears season to start. Was to young for the early to mid 80's teams.

I am ready for a culture change. We need vocal leaders who have no problem yelling at teammates if that is what it takes to get them back up. It is the 1 thing I don't like about Lovie and also Url. They both lead by example but neither of them are vocal leaders. Our 1 true leader on D last year is gone(mike brown)we will all miss him but who will step up this year and be that Leader. I am kinda hoping its Briggs or Harris.

I somewhat agree. I can't quite say SB yet. I am not satisfied with the Defense mainly at this point as they must play better otherwise it won't matter what Cutler does. I know our D is helluva lot better than Broncos was but they have to play better. 1 thing that will definetely help is knowing that you won't constantly be put in 3 & out situations all the time. We need to draft a WR, OL and a S. I would prefer the Safety from ND. I want a WR that can go up and get up. Don't really need a speed guy as we have that currently.

I think I read somewhere that the cap space available is something like 22-23 million range but either way we have plenty to go around. Personally I want to see us sign 1 FA WR(Holt preferred) and then with the 2nd pick I go WR unless an OL falls to us and then in that case I would go WR with the 3rd(Barden preferred). I also want JA to wait until the season has at least started before negotiating a new deal for Cutler. Cutler up to this point has never said anything about money it was all about how he was treated by McDaniels and Url even said himself that he would have been pissed to if we tried to trade him without talking to him. I at least hope that we talked to Orton and told him of our intentions. Orton is a class act and hopefully we meet him in the Super Bowl. He always did what was asked of him. He won 10 games his rookie year and then the following year he was 3rd string. Throughout the entire Grossman saga Orton never said anything except the right stuff. My hat is off to him.

I read an acticle somewhere either in the Trib or suntimes and they were saying that they wouldn't be surprised if the Bears got into things with Holt because Holt and Pace both have the same agent. However I also read somewhere else that Holt's agent has said that Holt wasn't interested in coming to Chicago. Not sure if that was said before or after the signings though.

The Tribune had a nice article today about this saying how much of a great move this was considering the fact that JA hasn't had much luck drafting offense, much less drafting offensively. This deal plus the other additions that JA has made will provide him the ability to mainly focus on his speciality, defense. Of course the same article said how important it will be for him to get these picks right considering the lack of picks and the lack of receivers to throw to. He also agrees that Hester and Bennett could have great years.

I agree that he will have to win over the team. I believe he won't have much problem doing so. Considering that the one thing the bears have lacked is QB who can overcome problems, like throwing a pick. Cutler has proved that his best quarter is the 4th quarter. Which is exactly what we need. A qb who can win late ball games.
