What I remember is that Payne is good with laying the big hit but so far thats it. He missed alot of tackles last year because he was going to lay the wood.

Great point Milwaukee.
-
Good point JA doesn't like FA for some reason.
-
I know that right now we have near $32 mil available but I don't think we can get both Haynesworth and Housh and the Barnes but I don't think that will be possibly. Housh and haynes are going to want to mega money.

I completely agree Mongo. I am hoping that we are big time players in the FA market, however with all the new signings and tags I am starting to doubt that we will be now.

Hey guys lets refrain from making personal attacks. Lets keep to the topic at hand.

Whats everyones thought on Gerald. I just noticed that he benched 26 reps and his arms measured a whopping 35". Also of note is that he ran a better than expected 40 time. Thoughts?

Ok, Ok. I believe in miracles. I am actually finding myself agreeing with NFO. Can't remember the last time that this has happened. NFO maybe you know but I sure as heck don't. Getting to old I guess lol. The big difference that I see between us bringing in Moose and possibly bringing Marvin is that we brought in Moose to be that #1 go to guy. He has never been that #1 guy, ever. Before we signed him I remember the score was leary of him because he has only produced in contract years. Thats bad news. I hate guys like this but we gave him a try for far to long. Marvin has produced well in every year albeit in a great offense with 1 of the best QB's throwing to him. Harrison won't come in thinking that he can regain his top form. He knows that he has lost a step and he won't be counted on as being that go to guy. I believe that Hester would still be the #1 go with Marvin being a good #2 or if we get a top WR in the draft we could use Marvin as a slot receiver. Marvin has some of the best hands in the league and is not afraid of a little contact. I say go get provided it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

I know I will get grief for this, but by now everyone especially Pix knows I don't care about letting people know what I think. I understand why you guys all don't want him but if I was JA, I would AT LEAST consider it. I wouldn't give him the kind of money that he is being stated that he wants. By why not at least look at him. After the stomping on the cranium issue people are deservedly pissed off at him and I am still fueming about that incident. He is lucky he didn't get suspended for an entire NFL year. JMO. But just think of what could happen if Tommie and Haynesworth coexisted like a family and it didn't cost us our grand childrens lunch money in the process.

I like Fred Taylor personally and don't think he would be looking to replace Forte as he is getting near the end of the road of his career and for the past couple of years he was durable because the Jags split carries so well. I think he would be a perfect compliment while being a very good teacher.

At least the Bulls did become active with bringing in Miller and Tim Thomas. Del Negro says he can work with Tim Thomas so lets hope so. Those are the only guys that will contribute really and I love Miller.

Heard on the SCORE this morning that Crabtree has a stress fracture in his foot(i think) and will be out for around 10 weeks. Will he even be ready for his pro day? Does anyone know when his pro day is? If he can't go by then that could cause him to drop to us and then I wouldn't go for him because of the injury.

What is a joke is that Oline. They will never win 5 games or more until they at least upgrade the line. If they upgrade the line they have the potential to win more. We proved last year that with a piss pour WR corps you can still have a .500 record.
-
I was dying this morning when I heard this but the Lions are looking at both Stafford and Sanchez to take with the #1. They are leaning towards stafford but not sure yet lol. Why would they even consider Sanchez at #1 unless they are desperate for QB and won't be able to sign Stafford.

Sounds like Bears are trying to lock down St. Clair
bowlingtwig replied to Connorbear's topic in Bearstalk
Unless that rookie is Oher. -
No way JA even thinks about this move. He not only embarrased himself, but the team, the fans and the city for his ignorance. Although on side note he would fit right in with Cincy wouldn't he. That would be funny. They would then have at least 2 former Bears players that got ousted because of there stupidity.

My best friend is a Raiders and he has gone on record saying that the game past up Al Davis a long time ago and they won't be any good until either Al sells the team or he dies. One can only hope. This is absolute crap and I wonder if Al even thinks about what he is doing before he does things like this.

Pix I agree with you like always it seems like. I believe I saw enough of Hanie last preseason to at least give him a shot. Your not losing anything by giving him a shot at #2. Now I think I would be a little scared if were going to hand over the reins to the offense completely over to him but we are not doing that.
-
I understand what you are trying to say but for me personally this isn't even a question. 1 question that we must ask ourselves is which is more of a priority QB or Oline. We got good play out of Orton last year considering what we thought at the beginning of the year. With Tait retiring and St. Clair not resigned yet. So for me this isn't even a question any more. I believe we can live with another year of Orton if that means we provide him with a Line to protect him. With Oher there it would solidify especially if Williams stays healthy(I know BIG IF).
-
I agree with you Madman. I would first of want Oher unless we land a stud OLine in FA. If we grab a stud Oline in FA I would love Laurinitis. I have seen enough of his games and I think he is a beast. He is extremely intelligent and believe he could adapt to playing both Will and Mike positions. You hit it on the head about Urlacher and his back problems as well. If Urlacher returns 100%. Then we have a GREAT LB crew with Briggs, Urlacher and Laur. That would be unbelievely. Plus Laurinitis plays fast thus Lovie is probably looking at him already. I honestly don't think we will take a LB in the 1st but we can always dream. But only if we land a stud FA Oline.
-
I saw that the other day and I think I would just want to shoot myself if that happens. I don't mind facing him at the most once a year but not 2 times every at least guaranteed.
-
Wow, thats a big assumption there. Our biggest need is OL. If we make this trade but don't upgrade this Oline it won't matter who is throwing the ball. We also can't assume that Boldin would bring us a super bowl win, much less even get us into the playoffs. This day and age in the NFL nothing is guaranteed.
-
I completely agree. Without a good OL in won't matter who the WR are.
-
How much do you honestly think St. Clair will garner???
-
Cedric still thinks he is god. Good luck trying to get everyone to believe you.
