We are so far past dysfunctional right now. Pisses me off as I know it does everyone else
-
Key phrase there my friend. You hit it on the head. "acquire and develop". We have sucked at both phases til recently. Where we have acquired some nice looking talent but we still don't seem to develop anything
-
Now that I agree with 100%. Rebuilds are tough by nature and made worse by fans. Fan is shirt for fanatic. Someone who thinks no team should ever need to rebuild and most don't have the patience. Over reacting after 2 games is ridiculous. This certainly will be a very very tough year. And most of us acknowledged that prior to the season. It's important to stick to the plan. It's just not easy to stick to that when the coaches and front office personnel won't actually tell us what the plan is. But remember just last yr we had 1 of the oldest rosters in the league and now half out roster has new faces. And we are now 1 of the youngest teams. Patience patience patience. I know it sucks I get that

Honestly I think id rather go about it using the draft. And I don't like giving up alshon for someone we don't even know if he's better than hoyer. He hasn't played so it's a complete unknown at this time
-
Gould was already set to make $4M this year and now you want to bring him back and give him an increase?? Are you nuts. And wanting to immediately hire toub to be hc? I seriously question that. We don't even know if he can even run an offense or a defense successfully. And imo if we fire fox and company right now then I suggest you fire everyone on the time and start brand new. All players and coaches, gm. Everyone. Completely gut it. How can you even know anything if your not even willing to give a coach 2 yrs when we are beginning stages of a rebuild

Ok I'm sorry clearly you missed my point. No where did I say Jay isn't the problem. Clearly he is part of the problem. Now there are some QBs out there who can do things without the benefit of s running game and solid oline. Of course every one would benefit with those but my point is we have known for w very long time that the only way Jay can succeed is with those. So fault is absolutely on Jay. But also the front office who paid a very handsome price in order to acquire his services and failed to surround him with the necessary talrnt to succeed. Its now been 8 yrs and the front office keeps screwing up regardless who is in there. Why is that? Do they honestly think he can do it himself? A player is also much easier to train and coach when they are young. Well when he was young he had Hester as a top wr and bad oline. I think that stunted any possibility of him learning. And now it's simply way to late. Jay certainly is a problem along with everyone else. I'm becoming more and convinced that rvrn if we had Joe Montana in his prime that we wouldn't know what to do with him.

Any ideas on what there definition of awhile is

What do you mean by Oakland has Carr. I'm probably not following. Oak seems on the way up and Carr seems to be part of there future and thry aren't as bad anymore
-
Amen brother. Weather we like it or not on this current roster Jay really is our best option. There's a reason hoyer has bounced around and after seeing the pre season games I saw him make mistakes just like Jay. Sure his mechanics aren't as bad but his judgement in my opinion is worse and he doesn't have that arm that Jay which helps Jay get lucky at times and get away with mistakes. I saw hoyer on 1 play where he had plenty of time In the pocket stare down his receiver then proceeded to a throw to a spot where only a defender was. Defender didn't even have to move. To bear in sight. When Jay does that we rightfully crucify him. In a way I feel bad for Jay. He's been here 8 yrs. He's never had any consistency here with anything except he had forte. He's only had a mediocre to good oline 1 time and it quickly went to shit. Dude spemds majority of his time on his back because of that oline and yet we ridicule him. And then when he does get hurt the fans call him a pansy. I know the rest of the qbs around the league see exactly how the team and the fans treat our QB's. Why would any one want to come here
-
Jay is at his best when he's got a running game. Jay is not a guy who can do this all by himself. This team right can't run the ball which forces Jay into doing things himself. When that happens we see those bad decisions and bad mechanics. We do need a new qb but we also need help at oline and other play makers on offense. I won't judge white yet. This is essentially his 1st yr. And remember he came from a school where he wasn't asked to run the entire route tree so it's going to be a learning curve for him. He might not break out fully until he gets a year under his belt. Unfortunately that could be stunted if we can't find a qb for them to gain continuity
-
I to agree it's time to move on after this yr. I blame him and the bears for him though. We traded for him then proceeded to put garbage around him and the constant change of coaches is a proven recipe for disaster. It's been proven on so many occasions that you need continuity to even have a chance of any success at all. Until we learn from this lesson this will continue to be a problem regardless of who is at qb.

What can I say my friend I'm getting soft in my older age
-
Oh good flipping god. Who else is going down tonight. We are already bereft of talent. Calling all beer men lol
-
Yeah it is. I'm not a fan of throwing rookie qb like him to wolves though. Especially with this oline
-
No body can even hang on to the damn ball. Just ridiculous. These injuries are a killer though as well. God himself knows this team has no depth at all.
-
We can't continue changing the front office every 2 yrs and expect anything good. Must give them a 3rd yr. Everyone knew this was a rebuild from top to bottom
-
I'm starting to like Glenn as well. Was that a 3 and out. I didn't think that was possible
-
Part of a complete rebuild from top to bottom unfortunately. I think I saw some where that 22 of the 53 man roster is a new face from last year. I'm actually not surprised on the talent level. Our biggest weaknesses starts upfront both sides. Cutler has some nice weapons but no one respects the run game. Makes us 1 diminionsional
-
Bend but don't break defense scares the shit out of me.
-
Defense can't get off the field. Need to get better
-
Let's be honest about BM though. He had always looked great on the field. On the field he's 1 of the best WRs in the game. It's the rest of the time with his mouth and others well documented problems that has now found him on his 4th team already
-
I follow ND but sad to say with everything I've been thru the last 2 yrs I can't say his name rings bell at all
-
I cant see us letting Howard go in order to make room for him. Howard is young and I'm sure the team would like to see what he can do. I would bring him in for a look but don't see it happening. I do question why saints would let him go though. They have enough salary cap issues and cutting him hurts even more as he continues to count for the next 2 yrs. Is he really that bad
-
I refuse to trade for a backup from ne. We've seen that story to many times. I'd much rather draft a qb and go from there instead of trading picks for someone else's backups. It's extremely rare that that story actually works out well.
