    Barkley

Well that certainly helps a great deal. Allowing us to get into the draft before knowing and other teams that miss on there guy might get desperate and be willing to make that trade for him. I still wouldn't want to go into 2017 with cutler on the roster for game 1.

    Barkley

I have to agree completely. I am not sure how anyone can be a top 5 defense when our defenses biggest problem was they simply could never get off the field and absolutely couldn't seem to ever get any turnovers.

    Barkley

I am starting to think We go with Barkley and Shaw with a rookie. Hoyer doesn't turn the ball over but in the same sense he can't put points on the board at all. Barkley turns the ball over at an alarming rate but he still can move the ball and put points on the board. I'd love to see what Shaw can do. He's the big mystery at this point.
  4. If Pace can get the same production or better from the 2017 class like he did from the 2016 class we are well on our away to getting back to respectability awful quickly.
  5. I'm not saying it is horrible if the 1st rd QB starts off by holding a clip board. But what I am doing is looking at from Pace's shoes. He's had 2 straight bad seasons including this past year was one of the worst in the franchise history. I would have to know if 2017 isn't a drastic change for the better than most likely I'm not around to see 2018. So if I'm looking at that from that perspective I am looking at getting someone in the draft that can help from day 1. From a fans perspective it would be great to draft a QB let him sit for a year and learn from someone on how to properly read a defense and be a professional. But lets also be honest How many 1st round QB's sit the 1st year any more. I agree with your sentiment that they are rushed into being the starter from day 1. Part of that is because owners want to see results right away. So my overall point I guess is that as much as Allen might be a great pick Pace can't afford to take him with that #3 pick. Maybe what would be best is taking 1 of the DE's with that #3 pick and then taking allen in the 3rd. Honestly I don't know if he lasts that long but who knows I guess.
  6. Agreed. Each of the top 3 QB's have traits that I love but like you just said you don't see that as a top 20. What I would love to see is Pace take Allen with the 3rd overall pick and then have the QB's slide and if the get to around 15 I would be on the phone trying to use our 2nd rd pick to try and move back into the 1st round to take 1 of those QB's that have slid.
  7. Wow is all I can say after reading that. He admits Josh Allen isn't ready to play but has him going 3rd just because hes raw? He thinks Pace's best move is to start Barkley all year and draft Allen for 2018? So let me get this straight, in today's NFL when GM's need to hit with there top picks. Does anyone think Virginia and company will give Pace a 4th yr if 2017 isn't a drastic improvement? If we go Barkley for the entire year do you really think we will see a drastic improvement to allow Pace to see 2018? This is also the 1st time I've ever even heard his name and somehow Pace is going to make a drastic mega leap and take him ahead of all the other QB's except for Trubisky? IMO Pace can't be thinking to 2018 for the 1st time we see our 2017 1st round pick see the field otherwise its a very good bet that he never sees 2018. Remember Pace is still heavily criticized because White, his #1 pick he made as our GM has barely even had a cup of coffee to this point because he hasn't been able to be on the field. Pace did well with the individuals he drafted in 2016, but to this point nothing has equated to wins. And at the end of the day everything comes down to wins and loses. Also IMO we need draft some one with that 1st pick who can step in and begin day 1 not year 2.
  8. Yes he did figure something out but to completely overlook the beginning of the season would be a mistake. He clearly was struggling. His completion percentage was at a career low and we weren't just talking about a couple games. This was more than half way through the season when every one was talking about. Did he have a good season? Absolutely But in the same season he was not himself either for a good portion of the season. What made the season stats look so good was how hot he has been over the past 6 week winning streak. Take away that and his stats don't look so good.
  9. I tend to agree. I'm thinking 1 QB goes in the top 2.
  10. Interesting work? thats extremely generous to say the least. I don't know anything about this guy but his stats look very bad. In my opinion if a QB in a 2nd or 3rd tier school can't dominate his competition I want no part of him. and a completion percentage that low is very ugly. Based on stats he'd never hack it in the NFL. May I ask what round Miller has the Bears taking him? Who else does he have us taking?
  11. Yeah I think that is the best case scenario. I'm not to worried about Detroit and GB. Detroit wins the division more than likely if we didn't injure Matt Stafford. After that game Stafford was never the same and they lost 3 in a row after we hurt him. I know no one wants to talk about Rodgers but we all saw it at the beginning of the year. Something was definitely wrong with him. He did just turn 33 which most people fail to realize. Many want to blame his supporting cast but even my father and my grandmother who are huge packer fans who all agreed something was indeed wrong with him although the supporting cast is a concern. The packers had win 6 or 7 straight just to get in to the playoffs. However for right now we can only worry about ourselves and no one else. If Pace and company can nail the draft this year like he did in 2016 and we can get White back to healthy who knows how things turn out. Either way I think we are 2 years away from seriously competing if Pace can nail things again. The majority of the moves he made for 2016 worked out pretty well overall.
  12. That doesn't surprise me any more. I think we are seeing the beginning of many players either taking it easy in the bowl game or sitting out all together ala Fournette and McCaffrey. It seems like most of us are in an agreement with taking either Allen or Garrett.
  13. I like your idea but the 1 question I have is who do you see as a future franchise QB for us in the 2nd rd considering more than likely all of Watson, Kizer and Trubisky will be gone. I'm asking because outside of those 3 I don't know many others. Unfortunately spending the last 7 years as an over the road truck driver I haven't watched much college outside of ND.
  14. I wondered about Landry Jones when he was coming into the league. Not exactly sure what happened to him since.
  15. Absolutely loved what we saw from Howard. Pace hit a monster home run with him so far. The dude just runs extremely hard and has the dude ever been stopped and fallen backwards. I swear every time hes hit his feet keep on going to pick something up. I seriously think our 1st pick needs to go to a playmaking defensive player. Our defense created a total of 11 turnovers. Thats not bad. thats beyond pathetic for Chicago Bear football. If I'm not mistaken that's a franchise low. We need a new QB, not exactly sure what to do with that position. I don't trust either of the top 3 rated QB's for the upcoming draft and the free agency crop is beyond horrible. Maybe we can get lucky and they start falling into the backend of the 1st allowing us to trade back into the 1st to get the guy we want. But I've got a really bad feeling all 3 will be going top 15. Obviously need help in the secondary as well. Biggest need overall is PLAYMAKERS. This team only has 1 guy in that fits that and thats howard.
  16. Needs to be a playmaker who can start from day 1. I wish that would be a QB, but unfortunately I don't like any of the guys available at that spot. I'm so confused on what to do with that spot.
  17. Adam Schefter is reporting today that Fox is not likely to be let go. So that should put all of this debate to an end.
  18. Ok with that I would be ok with letting him play the 1st half and see if he can get it.
  19. No one questions that fact that Trubisky as a ton of talent. I think hes extremely raw though, which if you want to blame on his coaches for not playing him earlier that's a valid point. Completely agree with you on Watson. I think his weapons make him so much better than he really is. I was not impressed with him during yesterdays game. Kizer has problems that isn't on Notre Dame. His biggest problem is himself. He loves to improvise and many times it gets himself into trouble and putting the team at a disadvantage. Doesn't like to set his feet either like you mentioned. And you also just said that none of the 3 are probably ready to start week 1. So then the problem is do you really want to draft one of the 3 with a top 5 pick if they aren't able to start from day 1. Personally with a top 5 pick I think that pick needs to be able to start right away.
  20. Thanks man, The one on the bottom right is my girlfriends daughter. Her daughter and mine are just 4 months apart.
  21. Ok questioin I have is how close is he to the record.
  22. Congrats buddy. I drafted a half way decent team and got ravished with injuries. Oh well part of the game. Hopefully with my new job allowing me to be home every night and every weekend it allows me to spend more time looking through guys. It got exptremely difficult the past couple of years of trying to draft while I'm driving and not being home much to even be able to put a sheet together.
  23. Got to go BPA. Honestly to me none of the QB's are worthy of a top 5 selection. Trubisky is just way to raw, not enough playing time especially against top teams. Kizer ive said way to many times that I am a Notre Dame homer but I've got a really bad gut feeling that his game doesn't work well in the NFL. Maybe alot of it is the fact that he loves to improvise and we have seen those type of guys get demolished in the NFL. And finally Watson. For starters he loves to run to much for my like and he takes way to many unnecessary chances especially in double and triple coverage and he gets picked alot. I hate to say it but part of him I see Jay Cutler.
  24. Honestly I don't think Loggains has been a major problem but with that said if we replace him with someone who has experience then I'm perfectly fine with it because this is a perfect time. Now as far as Connor's original thought about Cousin's. Like most here I agree about not giving up top picks for him. We need to finally draft someone and develop him. No more screwing around with this.
