I'd love to sign Jeffrey to a long term deal except I honestly don't get the feeling that he wants to be here. Plus I still think he is wanting that mega deal that pays him like a top 5 WR. And I am sorry he is not that top of guy when he certainly isn't reliable to being able to stay on the field between injuries and this year the 4 game suspension with PED's. I would look to get a team friendly long term deal that has lots of incentives starting with games played and then stats. If he disagrees we franchise him 1 last time and if someone is willing to give up 2 #1's we jump all over it. But under no circumstances can we allow him to walk without getting something for him

No kidding. It's the last thing the team or the players need

What's that 19 players? Now on IR
-
Yup those are the only 2 I can see but it is nothing more than a popularity contest

It does seem awful odd that a minor knee surgery done during preseason and the dude still hasn't played when Adrian Peterson has major surgery and he's not out as long. I'm definitely ready to move on but I doubt we can get anything for him more than a conditional 7th

I went CB. But not just cb it's time for a stud shutdown CB. We did great things when we had peanut back there. That can hide other ineffenciences when you can take out the #1 wr with just 1 guy leaving safeties to help out on the other side. I also went LT. Reasoning is because a great Lt can make a good QB look amazing. Then obviously QB

For someone with a total of 4 career starts, he's playing with a bunch of backup receivers and he's never had to deal Chicago weather before. It was said that San Francisco game was the 1st time he'd ever played in snow he's done very well. He damn near willed this team to victory after all the issues he had to start the 2nd half. I'm quite impressed by him. He has to be at least given the chance in camp to take the job after all he's done

All I'm going to say is just watch Barkley. Sure he made mistakes but unlike Cutler the dude puts it behind him and he's fighting his ass off. What was that about the team has quit on fox? Just saying

I'd be interested in seeing what cousin's would command. And I've got a feeling he's going to ask for the moon
-
The problem is before we can even attempt to utilize fuller the dude has to become available to play and unfortunately to this point he is always getting hurt

Rodgers wasn't a 2nd Rd pick. And if you remember correctly many thought he was going to be the #1 pick that year going to San Francisco. San Francisco takes Alex Smith and Rodgers fell hard. Ever hear what Andrew Brandt has said regarding that situation. Andrew was in the green bay front office at that time and when it was there turn to pick they tried to do everything they could to trade that pick because they already had Favre and he was still performing well. They couldn't find a taker and the only reason they took Rodgers was because he was the BPA. He even acknowledged they didn't bother scouting Rodgers or even talking to him because they all knew he would be well gone and they had many other needs.

Mike Freeman Reporting Fox will be fired at the end of the season

I honestly dont believe that Virginia and the bears are going to want to be paying 3 different coaches in 2017. Very hard time wrapping my head around that. Honestly I think he's given 1 more year considering how bad the situation was when he took over. -
What a shame. Dude has some talent to be a good #3 guy if he could only stay on the field
-
Honestly I'd offer new England our 2nd Rd pick. I think that's fair overall. I wouldn't give them our 1st pick. It's way to high of a pick for him considering we have other issues that need to be addressed
-
If I had to choose I'd go defense this yr mainly because IMO there isn't a franchise QB in this draft. I'm a notre dame fan and I'm not impressed with kizer and if someone takes him top 5 I'll sit back and laugh. I honestly don't think he translates all that well to the NFL.
-
I agree with you. We can't ignore the secondary. We have been trying for so long now to just plug in late round picks since the mike brown days. Except for a Daniel Manning in the 2nd Rd. We must get a playmaker back there either in fa or the draft. We simply can't continue this method
-
I do think we are better than most think but I don't think we are ready to compete. Every team faces injuries. Granted we have had more than typical this yr but the over riding theme this yr has been the lack of depth. Something we desperately need. Pace has done a decent job so far and he needs to continue but he needs to find playmakers. Real game changers

I really like what I've seen from Barkley. He's only made a couple throws that are absolute head scratchers. And he completely outplayed Stafford. I'd love to see what Barkley could do with some real play makers out there. He's been putting us in a good position at end of games. We at least get into overtime this week if it wasn't for the 2 holding penalties. Especially that 1st one on Leno. That was so obvious he didn't even try to argue it. With sitton I agree he hasn't played well. I think it's a combination of joining the team late and he's been injured alot
-
Absolutely not. We aren't just a qb away from competing. Trading for him would set us back IMO. Barkley has actually surprised me. I still don't think he's the future but he's certainly good enough to bring back next yr. Give him a chance to compete and obviously draft a qb high
-
I honestly don't see him all that appealing as another gm. If I was gm I would honestly just wait til He's cut and get him at a fraction of the cost. And if I'm correct that his contract decision has to be made by 3rd day of league yr then that means I could take my shot with trying to get him there amd if I can't no big deal I try the draft where you can possibly get someone for the foreseeable future at an even cheaper cost. I know so many are trying to say he can be traded but I just don't see it. He's got little to no value right now. Coming off an injury and when he was on the field the results were poor. And you want another gm to not only give up a draft pick but also fork over $16M a yr for the next 2 yrs for someone on the wrong side of 30. Sorry not seeing it

Rumor mill....... not happy about what I read
bowlingtwig replied to Chitownhustla's topic in Bearstalk
All I'm going to say is look who the author is. This dude every year makes bogus shit up and very few of his rumors ever turns out correct. He's 1 of the main reasons I stopped listening to the score when he was on air. -
I disagree with things but very very well thought out post bro. And while I agree with the fact you can find suitors for a guy like cutler. I keep coming back to 1 thing that every GM will be asking themselves. "why should I trade for him when it's all but guaranteed they are going to release him". And someone please correct me if I'm wrong but if I'm not mistaken don't the bears have to choose by the 3rd day of the new league yr if they wish to keep him for 2017 and take on that years money or to straight release him and owing him nothing. I could be wrong on that but if I'm right that certainly complicates things just a bit

In the reading I did he started off well in TB but his play slipped and he was inconsistent. Part of me wonders if part of that has to do with all the turnover that happened there. In Detroit I don't think he was ever really given a shot. The way I look at it is 1st off can get on the field and play. If so he's got 4 games to show Fangio what he's got. It's not like he can do worse than what we have. Fuller can't even stat on the damn field but considering his contract he's all but guaranteed to be back next yr so I give banks the shot to shine.
