Christian Jones would be nice, if he lasts. Did Skov ever get picked?
-
Herron's still available. Also, while he's not a burner, T.J. Jones from Notre Dame has return experience and he'd fit the Bears NFL legacy theme - his uncle is Phillip Daniels and his godfather is Rocket Ishmail!
-
Some names: Tevin Reese, Jared Abbrederis, Isaiah Burse. Also, I don't love him as a CB, but how about Chris Davis?
-
Mettenberger seems the better fit and I'd certainly take him.
-
Three of Bears' five picks have relatives who played in the NFL: Fuller's brother Corey plays for the Lions, Sutton' father played in the 80s, now Vereen.
-
Nickel corner better be Kyle Fuller.
-
Traded 5th this year and next , but also picked up a 7th this year. Real nice move by Emery. And a reason to watch the 7th round! Nawrocki had a good write up on Vereen in his draft guide.
-
Watch the YouTube video if him against Washington State. I thought it was impressive running, catching, and blocking.
-
Works for me. Some had him as the top RB going into the offseason, then he ran slow. Sounds like he's good in pass pro too. Some say he runs too upright , but I heard the same thing about Forte.

Aldo, if the Bears really love, and have a plan for, De'Anthony Thomas, maybe he's the 4th round pick. Lots of decent RZbx left, though
-
I could see them waiting on RB - Bears don't need a starter and there will be plenty of good names left in the 5th. I'd like to see them use their 4th round pick for the most NFL ready safety on their board, someone who could at least conceivably push our pu pu platter of safeties for a starting job. That means probably not a small school guy (Huff, Dowling) and probably not a convert (Watkins, McGill). That would leave guys like Dion Bailey, Ahmad Dixon, Antone Exum, Craig Losten, Ed Reynolds, Jemea Thoman, maybe even Vinnie Sunseri. I've also heard good things about Brock Vereen from some. I just want someone who can push for a job, because the thought of a Mundy/Jennings (or Conte) safety tandem does not fill me with confidence.

I'm sure Ego looks forward to Shea teaching him both things he knows.

Man, you watch Sutton's 2012 tape and he looks a lot like Donald last year. Sutton bulked up from 285 to 315 last year for some reason and lost explosiveness. He says he's back down to 290 now. Excited to see what he can do.

Seems like every year I say "I wish we had the Ravens' draft."
-
Marqueston Huff, Wyoming. Book it.
-
Yep, and I get that. Ferguson had 58 tackles last year, which is a nice number for a DT and the kind you associate with a run stuffer. Hopefully he can develop some more penetration this year, but we definitely need DTs who can tackle. I don't hate this pick. My only though is, did the Bears have a drastically better grade in him than Nix, Quarles, McCullers, Johnson, Sutton, and other 2-3 round DTs that you had to take Ferguson here with a guy like Brooks and others still on the board?
-
Hope he's good and has good size and tools to work with (will probably rotate in this year). But after having your sights on Aaron Donald, a guy with 5 TFL and 1 sack in his CAREER is a bit of a let down. In Emery we trust I guess.

There was some buzz. Kiper actually had Bears taking Fuller in his last mock.

I've never heard of this guy, just stumbled across his account, so I have no idea if he has any credentials at all (welcome to the internet!), but figured I'd pass them along anyway: Ty Youngfelt@TyYoungfelt·7 hrs Player I hear most connected to Bears today: Terrence Brooks Ty Youngfelt@TyYoungfelt·4h Bears entertaining idea of dealing next year's 1st to acquire additional 2 this year - have 5 players w/1st rd grade still avail, 1 top 15

Here's an article from the Bears website with some of them: http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...d3-2c9d5c6a7dec

I'd love Brooks in the 2nd, but I just can't see him lasting until our pick. Too many teams in front of us need safety help - Lions, Cowboys, Rams to name a few.
-
So, all it takes for a prospect to be great is for Mayock to like him? Blaine Gabbert will be so relieved to hear that (his #4 prospect and top QB in that draft). So will Shea McClellin (his #14 prospect) and Gabe Carimi (who he called a plug and play starter at RT and starter for the next ten years). Truth is, some guys loved Fuller, others did not. Defending the pick based on the rankings of one guy doesn't make sense to me. You say he can play any DB position, but we don't know that and Fuller admitted he has never played safety (closest he came was inverted safety against Georgia Tech, which is more like a LB than anything else). I hope he's the best CB out of this class. But for a team that wants to win now, I have a hard time believing that a nickel CB helps this team next year more than a starting safety.
-
DE, but I can see him moving inside on 3rd down /passing situations.
-
If this was Emery's guy, I get it and I hope he's the next Revis. I just think part if the draft is effectively predicting what others will do and managing your picks accordingly. You can get a nickel CB and future starter in the 2nd ir 3rd round of this draft. Not sure you'll be able to get a starting safety.

I like those guys fine (particularly Huff), but I can't see them starting next year.
