I would try a trade down and target a developmental CB (Nick Marshall?) and a speed WR/return man (Mario Alford?).

S Adrian Amos. I liked Anthony Harris and Derron Smith more, but he probably fits the size Fangio likes more and he can play CB & in the slot. Addresses a need. Works for me. Ran 4.37 and 4.4 at his pro day.

Not a huge fan of the pick, but it sounds like Fox likes 4 RBs on the roster. I think Langford immediately becomes out best goal line back.

What was the opportunity Pace had to get out of the Cutler contract? And who would be our QB instead ?

My personal board would be: -TJ Clemmings - Don't care about the injury because he doesn't NEED to play right away, but too much talent to pass up. -Derron Smith - Probably the best coverage safety left -Anthony Harris - More of a SS, but can cover well enough to maybe challenge Mundy for a starting role -Ifo Ekpre-Olomu - Another injury concern who doesn't have to play right away. His size doesn't seem to fit the scheme, but he'd be hard to pass up. -Daryl Williams, OT, Oklahoma - The last OT I can see challenging Mills for the starting RT spot. -Max Valles, LB, Virginia - Best pass-rushing LB left. -Jake Ryan - Get a bit of a Chris Borland vibe from him. And then, Pace had a QB he loved between Petty and Hundley, I would honestly be OK with that.

Have this strange feeling it will be Brett Hundley. Hope I'm wrong.

A little "meh" for me only because I thought this was a semi-deep draft at C and he doesn't seem to offer much position versatility. But not having an embarrassing pick in the first three rounds is nice.

Anthony Harris may also be in play.

Also Phillips has had back problems. Not what I like to see from a big guy.

At this pint, I'm just hoping someone gets to Gregory before the Packers or Patriots.

Bears will pass on Landon Collins, will draft Jaquiski Tartt, Jason's head explodes.

I'm just not sure if, given this teams awful defense last year, you can depend your first two picks on offense.

Going to be hard to pass up a decent trade down offer, IMO, unless the Bears have a guy way up on their board left or there's a particular position they feel they need to address (NT?). Off the top of my head, option include: DB: Jalen Collins, Landon Collins, Eric Rowe, PJ Williams OT: Jake Fisher, TJ Clemmings, La'el Collins (if a consideration) DE/Edge: Randy Gregory, Preston Smith, Eli Harold, Kikaha, Orchard NT: Eddie Goldman, Jordan Phillips LB: Kendricks, Perryman, McKinney You could trade back 15 spaces, get extra picks, and still pick up at least one of those guys. FYI, 1st/2nd round picks Bears brought in for visits were LB Gregory, OT Clemmings, DE Edwards, LB Harold, LB McKinney, RB Tevin Coleman, CB Williams, and LB Orchard.

No trades. No big surprises. Browns didn't even mess up their pick ( though they have another shot). This is like one of those FanSpeak auto-drafts.

Man, I'm starting to feel a bit of dread set in, I think just based on our history. I mean, 2011 was the last year we drafted someone that most Bears had targeted before the draft (Carimi) and that didn't even work out. Before then it was probably Chris Williams (ditto). So I've become conditioned to either expect the unexpected or be disappointed with the expected. I liked this so much more then it was Saturday and Sunday, because even if you didn't love the first pick, you hopefully had at least one more pick that you thought was OK or could talk yourself into. If we do something crazy tonight, I'll be in a bad mood for at least 24 hours.

Has Markus Golden been taken? He might be a bit of a boom or bust, but we haven't taken a pass rusher yet and seems like the kind of player Fangio could move around and get some solid use out of right away. Pace has mentioned you can never have too many pass-rushers.

I know you're a solid "no" on Tartt, so I would say Grayson or Marcus Hardison.

OK, by my math, we're about 24 hours from the Bears pick - so who will it be? I saw either Kevin White or Danny Shelton and will ultimately guess Shelton, because I think White will be gone. The Bears would love to trade down just a couple spots, but no farther than the Browns at #12 (Rams would be ideal) and get an extra pick. If the Browns trade up to #2, maybe the Bears would be OK trading back farther, but I think the Browns would take Shelton if the Bears didn't. As it stands, the Rams only have six picks and probably don't want to lose more and after that is the Vikings, and I doubt the Bears want to help them go up and get someone they like. Ratliff is the only NT on the depth chart. Shelton fixes that and at least answers one question on defense. My dark horse pick is Devante Parker. If White and Cooper are gone in the first six picks, that suggests to me that the 1st round will be chock full of receivers, and suddenly guys you had hoped you could get in the 2nd (Dorsett, Agholar, DGB) go in the first and you're left with Greene or Coates in the 2nd. If the Bears want a guy opposite Jeffery this year, they may need to take Parker in the first. Plus it keeps him from going to the Vikings and reuniting with Bridgewater.
