  1. Unless there is something from next year's draft we haven't yet seen but yeah this doesn't seem good for us.
  2. Crazy how intertwined the drafts of these two teams are this year.
  3. We drafted two players that turned down more NIL money to stay with their current teams. Shemar Turner and Luther Burden. Burden took a pay cut to enable his team to sign other players.
  4. I like this pick. Adds more pass rush but he’s also good at stopping the run. His ability to move out to the edge is a plus. Dennis Allen can move around Dayo, Sweat, Jarret, and now Stewart. 3rd and long is going to be interesting.
  5. After last years circus act with DJ let’s hope Rome takes him under his wing.
  6. Not true. My inference is that Ryan Poles has to justify his job to the owner who approved him to pay a HC that much money. There should be an expectation from the owners to see results on the offense this year with all that investment. The timeline on defense can stretch a bit longer.
  7. The problem is Ryan Poles has not put a winning product on the football field. Technically neither have I. Until he changes that there is no data to prove he’s any better than the virtual fantasy GMs here on this board.
  8. We can all find rankings with all sorts of different values. Loveland here was 7 overall on Draft Network. I"m sure I can find him as far back as 20 or 25 but on average I'd say he was at least around 15 across the board. Might have been higher than that in the final rankings just prior to the draft. https://www.thedraftnetwork.com/list/nfl-draft-2025-player-rankings ....12 here on CBS https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospect-rankings/ ....Brugler had Warren at 10 and Loveland at 11. https://www.chargers.com/news/dane-brugler-top-100-draft-prospects "Two common names in recent mock drafts — Penn State's Tyler Warren and Michigan's Colston Loveland — are right near one another on the Big Board. Warren came in at No. 10 overall while Loveland was at No. 11." I checked a few other places and almost everywhere I look his value fit very close to where we drafted him. I wanted to build the trenches and didn't want a TE at 10 so I never really considered him, or Warren, unless we traded back a bit. Seeing him work out of the slot effectively gives me hope we got a good move TE and filled a clear need on the offense. I'm coming to grips with it. The fact we took him ahead of the popular pick in Warren shows me our talent evaluators and new coaches can make good decisions together. Or maybe I should be worried they agreed with my TE evaluation?
  9. What Ben Johnson sees in Loveland
  10. He'd have been a great pick for us on a big trade back but Loveland is at least better value at 10.

    Draft...

Phil Emery would agree with this statement.
  12. That was my pick but I'm not the guy who just handed a offensive head coach $13mil/yr.
  13. Actually a lot of people had him ranked higher or just as high as Warren. He's a better athlete in space than Warren and he's like gumby with his catch radius. Most importantly he is the better fit to pair up with Kmet and I think he'll quickly become Caleb's favorite target. The Patriots owned the league with Brady and 2 TEs for many years. I'm not putting anyone in Gronk's category (much less Brady) just saying that with the right offensive mind Rome, DJ, Loveland, and Kmet will cause DCs headaches running or passing. Add in the right RB in Rd 2 and we're well on our way.

    Draft...

It also came down to the fact the top 3 OTs were all selected before us.

    Draft...

The look on Poles' face when everyone stood up to applaud was priceless... "this draft sucks".

    Draft...

PHX....maybe too right since he went before us.
  17. Less likely because neither wants to lose the deal. Without Cunningham and with reports that trade deals are likely going to be 70% of normal trade value we can theoretically get a bargain for a blue chip player. I can’t see Cunningham giving his old boss a 30% discount. Or the new boss will be plenty upset.
  18. I haven’t watched a ton of film on Banks but have seen some. I think his floor is most likely on par with Jones. What I have not really figured is where his ceiling is supposed to be. Even if the ceiling is close to Jones and the team wants to keep LT on a rookie deal for 5 years I’m ok with the plan. I’m pretty sure Banks will be there at 10. If we don’t draft him I think that means they see Kiran as the future. I just can’t see them risking LT as an issue to fix next year.
  19. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/bears/2025/04/23/2025-nfl-draft-bears-will-campbell-play-left-tackle/83230685007/ “If they draft me, I’m playing left tackle," Campbell said Wednesday, via Jason Lieser.
  20. No clue. Plus I tried to summarize about ten hours of opinions. Can easily be my mistake too.
  21. From a true BPA value standpoint, and after all I've seen and read over the last few months I'd have to say Mathew Golden makes the most sense at 10. Having a legit 3rd WR is a need as well. Rome, DJ, and Golden is an insane trio for Caleb to throw to. My heart still prefers Nolen or even Wiliams, with a fallback to Banks since I want to build the trenches. I'll probably change my mind tomorrow.
  22. I've been listening to a lot of mocks and such lately on Da Tube. Here is a compilation of various scouting opinions (not mine) that go against the grain. Some of these are "my guys" too. Keep in mind I am paraphrasing a week's worth of reviews so don't quote me on anything. I just wanted to bring up some negatives I've heard on many of the players we're looking at as our pick between 10 to 20 if we trade back. One thing worth noting as we head into draft day. Jeremiah and Dane Brugler were both adamant that their boards are generic and reflect nothing about scheme. What a board looks like for each team is going to be wildly different based on scheme and needs. If you need a slot WR then you won't have Tet McMillan as the top WR. Mason Graham: Brett Kohlman and EJ Snyder both agree that he's talented but will not be a great player in the NFL because if he does not win early in the rep he can't win at all on a second move once the OG or OT has his hands on him. They didn't say he won't be a good player just not a great three-down DT. If teams see it this way then it explains the rumors he's slipping out of the top 5. Kenneth Grant: From Daniel Jeremiah... for his size he lacks the power you'd expect him to play with. There is upside to his skillset but he's far from being close to it. He has him ranked 31 overall. Walter Nolen: Various sources, PFF, Jeremiah and others. Seems there are work ethic issues, rumors he walked off the practice field at least once. Indications he takes plays off too. The raw talent is there to be the best DT in this draft and a true blue chip player. Kelvin Banks: Jeremiah, PFF, others. He plays too high. He's good against lower competition but against the good teams and players he struggled. He's going to face that caliber of player every game in the NFL. Tyler Warren: Just not a good enough athlete to really separate as a runner. Good all around. Mykel Williams: Not enough production as a pass rusher but a true stud as a run defender. He's a little stiff at the top of the arc. He has enough talent to improve as a pass rusher but his ceiling might not be as high as his run defense. Derek Harmon: Best pure interior pass rusher if you want pressure, equally effective in the run game. Can't bend, or change direction well, misses a lot of tackles. Membou: Unknown on the left side. Skills fit but risk/reward is not ideal if that's your only Oline need. Everybody loves Jeanty even if he's not quite in the same class as Bijan Robinson. Consensus seems to be there are 3 legit blue chips in this draft: Hunter, Carter, and at a slightly lower level Jeanty. If you think the challenge of trying to find a good player to draft at 10 it's far worse for the teams ahead of us. Trading down out of the top 10 is too pricey for anyone to move up significantly and then what player would be worth that price? This is going to be an interesting draft to look back on in 3 years. I don't even know who I want at 10 anymore.
  23. I just get the free Substack. Too cheap to get deeper into the quagmire.
  24. I think he had Ersery listed at 89 overall. Someone I thought was a 2nd Rd lock.
