  1. Actually 3 of the 4 first picks the Bears had went to D. They used their 4th to trade up and get Paea.
  2. Same here, I'm off this thursday but, by the time the Bears draft, I'll be at a sports bar with my friends for our weekly thursday night out. First draft I'll miss with you guys in years.
  3. I know he is doing this for the money, but long term he'd be better off getting a job as a running back coach. He's already well known for the position he held the ball, a well known name in general, and could lead to better coaching opportunities in the future.
  4. He wouldn't be bad for depth, just not a starter
  5. Because you said, "CAN YOU SAY "GARBAGE TIME!?" You're are grabbing a random date, Nov. 28th and excluding others to make your argument? On the year the Broncos scored more points per game than the Bears. They had 3 more first downs per game and so on. You're taking a team with a turd of a defense, to make a QB there look bad, compared to a team with an awesome defense with a turn of an offense. Who cares if they had 2 TDs or less in half of 10 games going into the 4th quarter. The league median for the season is around 22 per game. It averages out.
  6. Cortisone treats anti inflammatory, not a pain-killer. I think they said he got pain killers at half time, but that was just for the one drive to start the second half.
  7. Orton doesn't suck. It's easy to mix and match stats. He's just no Rodgers or Manning. It's stupid to cut on Orton to defend Cutler. The Bears were 30th in offense this year and Cutler has thrown 42 picks over the last 2 years. How does Denver's failure on defense make Orton "suck" and Cutler good?
  8. Bashing Cutler has nothing to do with accomplishments this year. The accomplishments were on defense. The offense sucked.
  9. It's simple to me. He played after, he could have continued to play. Instead fighting to play in the biggest game of his career, he instead stood on the sideline. I really think he saw it as an out and took it. He had been horrible all game. I don't think he is mentally tough at all. He mopes when things aren't going his way. He wants out of Denver after when his ego got hurt. He plays bad, and doesn't want to keep playing after he gets hurt in a huge game. Crying doesn't help. Leftwich and Rivers may be pocket passers, but Cutler isn't exactly Mike Vick. I'm glad he couldn't man up, he wasn't going to give the team a chance to win how he was playing.
  10. Not quickly enough. They wasted the 3rd quarter on a guy with 10 completions vs. 5 ints this year.
  11. He could still play, he played after the injury. other QB's played through worse. I was happy to see him not play tho, he was atrocious all game.

  13. I'm wondering if Cutler wasn't hurt in practice this week. It seemed all of his throws were all are and no touch this game.

    National Anthem

The reason it doesn't apply to women, is because at the time it became common place, women's hats were harder to get off and on. They were more likely to have pins holding them on, flowers, and so for. It was seen as more of a costume. Guys on the other hand, it supposedly goes back to the knights and filtered down. They would raise their visor with their right hand, showing that one they didn't have a weapon, and opening their visor left a place to strike. They would often do it when they were around the king, to show a sign of submission. It filtered down to farmers taking their hat off, to show submission to people "greater" than them. My argument on why people shouldn't have to take their hat off is un-Bears related, so I won't post it here. Maybe in the other forums if someone feels the need. Sorry, to the other poster, I am not in the taliban. I'm actually patriotic and very supportive of the troops.

    National Anthem

There's nothing wrong with wearing a hat.
  16. Looks like a no win situation by the basis of that article. If he stopped and signed the shirt or hat, then he would have been doing it for the cameras. The article criticizes doing stuff set up for publicity. If he doesn't sign it, then he is a bad person. He most likely never noticed her, and was going about his business. If Aaron Rodgers stopped for every autograph people wanted, then his throwing arm would fall off. If you notice at the end of this video, which shows more, she had a Clay Matthews Jersey. Matthews said when he was told by the stewardess about her, there's a camera there, so it looks like a set up thing for her to meet Matthews. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1bWg6Iaa9A&NR=1 Plus, he had signed her Jersey just the week before and had signed many things for her in the past. Her and her husband supposedly go to try to get autographs as much as possible according to her. There's the follow up the station had done with her, after she had found out about the video going viral. http://www.wbay.com/Global/story.asp?S=13857012

    Mock Drafts

Yea, I've heard of free agency. That's why this line is in the shape it is now. There are few good OL available, the really good or rare young ones are expensive. In the past the Bears have gotten a few years out of some of the guys, but in general it has proven to be the demise of this line. OLinemen tend to make the transition to starter easier than most positions in the NFL. You don't need a ROY. Just someone that isn't as bad as what is there. If the Bears are in "Win Now Mode" as you say, then they better fix the line and fix it fast. The defense were 4th best in points, where as the offense was like 21st. I fail to see the logic in how a rookie DT or CB will make as much as an impact as Olinemen.

    Mock Drafts

If the Bears go defense in the first round, they better draft 3 or 4 more QB's. They will need them if this line returns.
  19. I refuse to root for Green Bay and would love for the Bears to put an end to this Vick nonsense. It's hard to win in Atlanta, but they haven't won against a good team in weeks. Since week 13 they've faced Carolina, Seattle, loss to NO, Carolina, and now a bye week. I'd much rather see them win over a team they should easily beat and come out flat in the NFC championship game. The Bears would have beaten a good team gaining momentum. Plus, Urlacher nullifies Vick, always has.
  20. Taylor started his slide last year behind a good line in Minnesota.

    Devin Hester

Absolutely not, imho, at least not at this point of his career. He's a great returner and poor WR(in HoF context), as apposed to a great returner in Deion Sanders who also was one of the best CB's ever. Only special teams player made it into the hall so far that didn't contribute at a hall of fame level on offense and defense. It was a kicker. Hester will probably have to do a lot over the next 5 years of his career to even be in consideration if you ask me. At this point, I think it would take a change in what voters deem HoF worthy, a push to get special team players in, or a very weak ballot for him to be in consideration.
  22. The Saints will outclass the Seahawks. Philly beats Green Bay. Urlacher eats Vick alive like he always does. Atlanta beats New Orleans and the Bears, because they don't lose at home. The Jets pull out a close one over the Colts. Kansas city steps up against the Ravens and then lose to the Steelers. The Jets goes over the Pats as their O does enough against the worst D in the league to get the W. Jets pull it out in the AFC championship game against the Steelers, and roll over Atlanta in the Super Bowl.

    The Three Bears

Drunken frustration, I had read an article earlier in the night where he said he should be MVP while being referred to as come back player of the year by the writer. Vick missed almost 4 games and they did fine with Kolb. I'm a little biased on the 3 ppl I listed. I always said Brady was overrated, then I witnessed what he did to the Bears. I'm a Bears fan and Urlacher is a major reason the D has turned around, but not mentioned in MVP talks. Plus, Rivers is a QB I try to watch every week. I really think he gets little credit for being an extraordinary QB. Once Manning, Brady, and Brees retire, I think he will take all their places in the current great QB discussions.

    The Three Bears

I agree on Briggs, but Urlacher I disagree with you on. I don't think that there is a case that could be made, I think the case has been made. Urlacher, while not mentioned in the conversation, should be in the MVP race. He is the QB of the defense, and we see how this defense has improved leaps and bounds over last year where he didn't play. Unfortunately, he will have no chance at that. Definitely come back player of the year, and unfortunately MVP, may go to a player that deserves neither. People want to like Vick, so he is getting more credit than deserving this year towards MVP. He doesn't have the stats or importance to his team as Rivers or Brady. Kolb beat the Falcons and looked impressive filling in for games he missed this year. Vick doesn't deserve comeback player of the year imho just because I think it should be be reserved for injury or retirement, not time missed due to felonies.
