    Bottom line

He deserved to be fired when he tried to call his own plays the one year. He was horrible. This game is on Angelo, Emery, and Mike Tice. This was an offensive let down, and not in his specialty. I agree if they don't make the play offs this year he should be fired tho.
  2. You're right on one thing. This game showed what makes Rogers great and holds Cutler back in the middle of the Pack. They definitely both faced a lot of pressure tonight, but with quite different results.
  3. Tonight was a perfect example of why they needed offensive linemen. Let's sit the sack, the hurries, and the knock downs aside for a second. Now let's look at people not getting open. Why couldn't they get open? The Bears had to keep 2 people to block outside of the offensive line every play. The Packers D, if they were rushing 5, had 6 guys to cover the whoppin 3 ppl the Bears could send out on a play. You're not going to get open in situations like that. If they had addressed the line, that wouldn't be an issue with these wide receivers.

    Jennings..

The whole D really did in my opinion. The corners forced turnovers, the Dline was getting sacks, the Linebackers were tackling machines. I can walk away from this game happy knowing the Bears D is this good, and not every team the Bears will play will have that kind of pass rush. The next 5 games don't look that rough offensively.
  5. This game had the same as the Cardinals, "They are who we thought they were" game. I kept watching for the D and Hester to score and win the game, but never happened.
  6. His confidence was shot early in this game, but he has extra time this week and should be find come the next game.
  7. Yes, I believe giving up 16 points to what is one of the most explosive offenses in the league is pretty darn good. Especially considering how long the D has been on the field considering the INTs and the 3 and outs the O has. 2 turn overs and 4 sacks to boot. The only embarrassment of this team tonight is the offensive line.
  8. From early, it looked like he was rushing things. He's just got sloppy since, he's to scared pressure is there and throwing scared. It's definitely the Oline's fault he is in that state, but his fault for staying in it and letting it get to him. He's playing almost as bad as Webb tonight.
  9. Tillman shoulda been a boxer, he's crazy at that!
  10. This D has been nothing short of Awesome tonight. Holding the Pack to 6 so far and 4 sacks already. I hate the cover 2 also, but they are playing great tonight.
  11. I just figured I'd add my fantasy football team i drafted a month ago for my pay league. It's not my favorite team I've ever drafted, but I'm happy with it's potential. PPR league, 10 teams, QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, D QB- Cutler, RG3 WR- Marshall, Jennings, Demaryius Thomas, Malcolm Floyd, Santana Moss, Jeffery RB- McCoy, Charles, Martin, Benson, Mendenhall TE Fred Davis K Gould D Bears

    TO Cut

Lol, I had just drafted him in our fantasy league we just drafted on here too. I had to cut him also
  13. I'm sorry, but Knox is the best WR this team has seen prior to Marshall, in many, many years. He gets too much grief for a 5th round WR that has over achieved in the NFL despite bad coaching.
  14. He's averaged 234 over his career. I wouldn't say that is too far off base if the line doesn't improve from last year. Negative 1.) Cutler will get hurt 2.) Forte's numbers will drop due to an increased focus on the passing game. 3.) Bennett will end up with around 20 catches 4.) The Bears will give up the 3rd most sacks in the NFL 5.) Davis will be held back from taking the next step as a pass catching TE due staying in to block 6.) Bush will be a nonfactor. 7.) The Bears defense will be lower middle of the pack 8.) The Bears are sweeped by both the Packers and the Lions 9.) The Bears miss the play offs 10.) Lovie will start starters in meaningless games at the end of the season, which will lead to a worst draft pick and injuries Positives 1.) Hester will have a career year in receptions, yards, and TD's. 2.) McClellan will be in consideration for the DROY 3.) Briggs will make the pro bowl 4.) Marshall will have his best year since his Denver years and be an alternate for the Pro Bowl 5.) Peppers will make the Pro Bowl 6.) Tillman will have 5 forced fumbles 7.) Jefferies will have a respectable rookie year with 40 catches for 700 yards 8.) Carimi will prove to be solid at RT 9.) While Forte's numbers will slightly slip, he will also be a Pro Bowler 10.) Emery will notice the deficiencies in the offensive line, and be aggressive in the offseason through free agency and the draft That's just going on how I feel right now. It's early in the offseason and I have my questions about the coaching on the offensive side of the ball and the offensive line. Something about this Urlacher situation just reminds me of Peyton Manning last year. This defense sucked horribly the last time he missed a year. Now if the Bears line can just play average and Urlacher is healthy.... 1.) Cutler throws for 4000 yards and breaks 30 TDs 2.) Kellen Davis becomes a Jemichael Finley type reputation from a few years back. 3.) The Bears have 7 pro bowlers. 4.) The Bears offense is top 5 in scoring. 5.) The Bears defense is top 5 in every category 6.) The Bears get a first round bye in the play offs, and yes that includes winning the division over the packers 7.) Robbie Gould will score the most points in the NFL this year 8.) Brandon Marshall will be 3rd in receptions in the NFL, 3rd in receiving yards, and also 3rd in TDs for a wr. 9.) The Bears will set single season team records in passing, receiving, scoring, and total offense. 10.) The Bears play at home through the play offs and eventually bring home their second Super Bowl win.
  15. I absolutely hated the pick. Yet, I can't think of a Bears rookie that has impressed me as much in his first preseason game as he did. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how he develops now, instead of being in wait and see a few years down the road mode that I was in before that game.
  16. 2006 had the QB in free agency I really wanted to see brought in. He's gone on to be a savior of a city, and the Bears got the QB they've been wanting now, so it all worked out in the end.
  17. I'll let the conversation go. It's old news, it's just a touchy subject for me.. To me, he was always a cancer that held the team back. Not in the TO kind of way, just in that he held the QB position in a stalemate for way too long because the team was so dedicated to his potential and he never produced.
  18. Grossman started off the season with good stats, no doubt, he also threw the most bad passes during that time too. I don't have a link since this is a 6 year old discussion, so I don't expect you to take my word on it. Grossman had low end QB ratings that year of 64.9, 10.2, 36.8, 23.6, 1.3, and 0.0. The Bears went 3-3 in those games inspite of him. In the play offs he never had a QB rating over 77, threw 3 TD's in 3 games, while having 3 ints and 3 fumbles 2 of which were lost. Throwing for 144 yards in the conference championship and 165 yards in the super bowl. He just wasn't that good, and personally I feel he hurt the team more than he helped them in the play offs.
  19. You asked why Orton didn't get the team to the Super Bowl, pretty simple he was replaced. It's hard to get there when you aren't playing, yet he did get the team a first round bye in the play offs. Grossman threw an int when the Bears were down 8 points to Carolina with the game is in reach. "Rex Grossman is our Quarterback." To be fair, that year Orton wasn't good. He didn't single handedly try his best to lose games, ala Rex vs. Arizona. But, Orton was drafted in the 4th round to be the 3rd string QB, getting barely in reps due to being behing Hutchison and Grossman. When Grossman got hurt, like every year, and Hutchison was an epic fail, Orton was thrusted into the starting roll. Actually, the lack of productivity from Orton his rookie year that you brought up kind of proves yourself wrong. If the Bears were such a great team that they could go 10-5 and make the play offs with a first round bye when a rookie starts, then the rest of the team probably helped carry Grossman to the Super Bowl. Add in Mark Anderson getting 12 sacks his rookie year, and that could be the difference between a play off loss and a super bowl loss.
  20. Because Rex Grossman took over at the end of the season and lost in the play offs?
  21. He was solid for the Bengals, I wouldn't take the vet minimum either if I was him.
  22. That's why I was so adamant on Forte getting paid. He has done a lot with little help since he has been with the Bears.
