  1. SS or FS is debatable. I hate to keep quoting Nolan Nawrocki, but I've got his draft book in front of me. He had him listed as a FS. Nawrocki also had him as the #85 player overall.
  2. I do hope at some point we draft for need. I'd really like a RB/TE with the next two picks.
  3. My bad! Arkush and Gabriel on the SCORE said it was the 7th. Either way, it wasn't a reach, and if we believe in a guy, go get him. It wasn't like the 49ers trading into the 1st round to take Josh Garnett, who everybody had projected as a 3rd or 4th rounder. On a side note, Lawrence Holmes Tweeted this and it left me laughing my ass off: "Kiper is like: this guy has that "Bears mentality" just say he's white w/ short hair & has a Polish last name... "
  4. ILB is a physcial and demanding position. You can't expect Travathian and Freeman to play every game. It's quite possible when the season starts, we may not have a single ILB who was on the team last year.
  5. Which projection? Nolan Noawrocki had him listed as a 3-4th rounder and the #86 player overall. Based on that scale, getting #86 at #115 is good value. Well worth throwing in an extra 7th round pick.
  6. Bears traded up to 15th in the 4th round
  7. Agreed 100% about Kyle Long. As for Whitehair, it's not just the arms, it's the fact he's 6-3 3/4. That's prototypical guard height. Granted Leno is 6-3 but I'll bet he has much better arm length. Meanwhile, Bobbie Massie is 6-6, Kyle Long is 6-6, and Fabaluje is 6-6.
  8. Grass better be bulked up by trailing camp. No way it should take an NFL player more than a full off-season to get bulked up. If we move Long, I just hope we make the switch now and not wait until after Labor Day to make the move.
  9. Everything I've read suggests that Whitehair can't play tackle in the NFL. He doesn't have the arm length. In terms of tackle, Massie cannot play LT and Leno cannot play RT. My guess is we look at Fabuluje at swing tackle and we'll add a veteran.
  10. Yeah, but we have a glut of guards. You feel like Slausson, Grasu, and Long are the starting interior o-lineman. Ted Larson is a starting caliber player and Ramirez is a really good back-up who can play multiple positions. Then we add Whitehair who Nolan Nawrocki listed as the 34th best player available in the draft. It really makes me wonder if we'll see Kyle Long at LT.
  11. I was thinking the exact same thing. Round 4 would also be a good place to pick up a TE. Jerell Adams would be a nice get for the Bears.
  12. Big day today! Draft Picks: Round 4: picks #19 (117) #26 (124) #29 (127) Round 5: pick #11 (150) Round 6: picks #10 (185) & #31 (206) Round 7: pick #9 (230) I'm glad it's raining here in Central Illinois so I have the perfect excuse to waste the entire day following the draft!
  13. That might be a bit of an exaggeration. If either Whitehair or Ballard was picked in the first round, it was late. But I get what you're saying. Two really good players with lots of options for tomorrow. Can't wait!
  14. Hell yes. Booker would be real good. Dixon would be good. Jordan Howard. Paul Perkins. Alex Collins. Lots of value at RB.
  15. Don't forget RB. So far there have only been 3 drafted.
  16. Go Bears! We could go damn near any direction with this pick.
  17. Yep. Having 10 4th round draft picks gives us a lot of options.
  18. What's weird is the speculation was Green Bay jumped in front of the Bears to draft OT Spriggs. So O-line was a priority in round #2? I'd have bet anything it'd have been d-line.
  19. guard cody whitehairj. Can we just go ahead and move Long to LT?
  20. We just traded down! We added a 4th round pick
  21. We've dropped 15 spots for 3 4th round picks. Not bad.
  22. Yeah. The last two picks for the Bears remind me of what happened to the Giants last night
  23. Or it could be Jaylon Smith, Hunter Henry, or Myles Jack. I'm assuming we weren't stupid enough to trade up for Xavien Howard.
  24. The Bears now own picks 117 and 127 in the fourth round, plus a 2017 fourth-round pick, only moving down eight slots. as per Chris Emma
