What if those two guys are there at 49??? Did we get a 4th round pick back?
-
Yeah . . . that is absolutely crazy.
-
Agreed. And none of the 5 techniques are off the board (that's what I'm rooting for).
-
Yes! But we don't know what teams know. The fact that Cleveland started by passing on him . . . honestly, we traded up to take a lb at #1. I'd be shocked if we took him at #2.
-
Here we go! It was great seeing Butkus! Browns are on the clock . . .
-
Which o-lineman do you want in round #2. Jason Spriggs would be a nice "get."
-
Nice! Ryan Pace talked about how much we'd like his charisma. God knows a player doesn't need to be charismatic. But it sure as hell doesn't hurt.
-
TD, that's crazy. If you don't want to spend time on this, I completely get it. I often lament the amount of time I waste on sports. But how the hell can you quit cause you don't like the GM who's just in his second draft? The draft is often frustrating. For example, one of my favorite picks was Gabe Carimi. One of my least favorite picks was Kyle Long. Enjoy it. Or don't. At the end of the day, it's ultimately about a stupid meaningless sport.

Disagree. It could just mean we really liked Ramsey. If we were desperate for a corner, we could have sat at #11 and taken Hargraves. Going into last night, some of us (myself included) viewed edge rusher as the #1 priority. We filled that need. We still need a 5 technique, cb, safety, TE, and RB, among other things.
-
You figure the Titans gave up a #1, a #2, and a #3 to move up from #15 to #8. For the Bears to go from #11 to #5, we'd have probably given up a 1, 2, 3. That was probably too steep for us. Just because we tried to trade up, doesn't mean we were willing to give a ton.
-
Yeah. It is HIGHLY probable we go defense in round #2. That makes me think we'd target offense in round #3. Need RB, TE, QB, and o-line . . .
-
Did anybody go last night? Man, I'm tempted. It's also tempting to simultaneously watch it on TV, listen to the SCORE, and read comments here.

Round #2 is pretty easy. There's 10 different guys I'd be real happy with in round #2. Who do we take in round #3?
-
Agreed. Although I'd include Robinson in that mix. I'd be real happy with any of them. I'd also be happy with Henry, Vonn Bell, Dereck Henry, or Hunter Henry. We're going to get a real good player.
-
I'll add that Shea was listed at 6-3. I stood next to him at training camp and that was an exaggeration. Not to mention he didn't have have length. I stood next to Julius Peppers and that dude is like a freaking giant. A legit 6-7 with arms down to his knees. Shea is built like a SS. You can't compare Floyd to Shea.

I'm pretty certain we carried 9 most of last season. Assume that we keep Sam Acho, that gives us 5 OLB. We'll likely carry 4 ILB. Who are you worried about getting cut?
-
Nobody gets traded. For starters, none of these guys play 100% of snaps as we like to rotate defensive players. Young probably still wants to play in a 4-3 front but he looked pretty damn good the 2nd half of the season. Houston can easily slide into the DE spot. We are loading up on pass rushers.

I've thought all along round #2 was the perfect spot for a 5 technique. We struck gold their with Goldman last year and the draft is much deeper. On a side note, Atlanta and Oakland both made deep reaches at safety in Neal and Joseph. i don't know what to think of that, but it helps the Bears in solidifying the defensive front.

Here's my thought on this: 1. I don't think we wanted to draft a secondary player this high. Fangio had a ton of luck with no-names this year 2. Based on Ryan Pace's philosophy, I don't think we wanted a high quality guy without a major medical red-flag. That eliminated Tunsil and Jack. 3. The only top guys that dropped had major red flags 4. Several mocks had Floyd going to the Giants. The fact they reached for Apple when they didn't really need a corner makes me wonder if they were confounded I hate that we gave up our 4th. But our #1 need was pass rush. In Fangio I trust. Good pick.
-
I didn't want a LT but I gotta admit, seeing Tunsil there at #9 I'd have been thrilled with it. Now that he's sitting there at #12 . . . something ain't right. We wanted an explosive playmaker--specifically a speed rusher. Floyd is the best in the draft. We thought Giants would take him. Considering they reached for Apple and really didn't need a corner . . . I believe it.
-
We gave up a 4th round pick to move up 2 spots. If we believe in the guy, I'm good with it.
-
It's Floyd. As per several Twitter accounts
-
Studs? We have Tunsil who teams are avoiding. Myles Jack who teams are avoiding. Hargreaves who is a cornerback . . .
