  1. I think there’s truth in this rumor. Under Nagy last season, Kareem Hunt caught 53 passes for 455 yards. In two NFL seasons, Jordan Howard caught 52 for 422. The problem is that over the past two seasons, no running back has more dropped passes than Jordan Howard with 10. Unless Howard’s hands can improve, his role will be greatly reduced. I anticipate that instead of 1200+ yards, he’ll get around 800. I feel like if Jordan stays in this offense, he’ll just be a “meh” running back. I’m okay with selling now while his stock is high.
  2. Barkley may fall????? Did you miss his combine numbers???? Cleveleand may take him #1 overall and then draft a QB #4. If Cleveland doesn’t, the Giants might jump all over him at #2. Indy would love to take him at #3. And then you have Cleveland at 4. There’s no way in hell he makes it out of the top 4.
  3. That’s a damn good point. I’d take that one further: How much is Landry’s trade value worth vs. Howard? For starters, both are really good but not great players at their position. Neither is considered elite. Landry’s franchise cap hit is 16 million. Then you have to sign him to an extension. Meanwhile Howard only made $600,000 and has two years left on his salary at a real low rate. AND I believe Miami is over the cap or damn close to it. How about we get Landry and a 3rd for Howard straight up?
  4. Or not. PFT is now reporting they heard from a source there’s no way it’s happening. No further explanation was given.
  5. It’s being reported by Moon Mullin that the Bears would trade Jordan Howard and the #8 overall pick for Jarvis Landry, the #11 pick and a 3rd rounder. I actually like this. Howard doesn’t fit our new offensive scheme as he’s a terrible pass catcher. It’d also be nice to get a 3rd round pick. The downside is we’d need to sign Landry to a long term contract extension as he’s been tagged. I’m also not thrilled about dropping from 8 to 11. But this would take care of our most pressing need.

  7. Thanks for the insight on that. I was wondering how that process worked. That being said, if we hadn’t signed Glennon, Wheaton, Cooper . . . We might have gotten an extra pick? Good lord that’s depressing. Granted, we did sign Prince and he worked out, but everyone else . ..
  8. Damn good point with the scheme. If we cut him because we want someone more mobile, I can buy that.
  9. True. But if we’re looking at this year, why didn’t we keep Josh Sitton for 8 million? He was our best offfensive lineman. In 4 years, Kyle Fuller’s had 8 interceptions and sat out a year because he wasn’t 100% healthy. Yes, he’s good in run support and had quite a few breakups . . . But there were several games where teams specifically targeted him because they were avoiding Amukamura. Fourteen million for one year is a ton. And I don’t see how we can trust him long term.
  10. As per the Score, Wade Phillips is making 3 million per with the Rams.
  11. That’s awesome to here and I hope it happens. I keep thinking about how we tried to retain Marinelli and he quickly left for Dallas. But it seems like Pace has his shit together and his ducks lined up in a row. So here’s my 2 cents: 1. I could be way wrong, but I feel like it’s a done deal. We wanted to make this day about Nagy. Tomorrow will be about Fangio. Pace is moving quickly and with determination. As aforementioned, I could be way wrong. 2. It was reported Green Bay may have balked on Fangio’s asking price of 2 million. Good lord, why are teams afraid to pay coaches? These teams are worth a billion minimum. Fangio has exceeded expectations. It’s like an extra $500,000 is a dealbreaker for teams. I don’t get it. 3. I think the Packers hired the Browns ex-coach cause they know Fangio is returning to Chicago. Again, I could be wrong.

    QB Comparison

I agree with your assessment. Although, actuallly, I think we slightly lost the trade. But it was close. I'm shocked at what a big deal this has become. You'd think we'd have given up next year's first rounder on top of everything else. While I kind of hate it, I'm okay with the fact we are going to be bad next year. I'm guessing next year we will go all in on free agency. Not just a bunch of puny ass one year deals.
  13. The problem with that theory is that if he was told to draft a QB--why not stand pat and take the best one that fell to us? I don't think it would be hard to sell the McKasky's on Watson. Instead, we not only target Trubisky, but we decided days in advance to trade up. We likely signed Dirty Sanchez AND invited Mike Glennon to the draft party. Both smoke-screens knowing we wanted Trubisky. And with our dealings with San Fran we: 1. Refused to tel them who we were going to draft 2. Insisted they not tell anyone else we wanted to move up 3. Sent out a rumor that we wanted to trade down. Lots of covert business here. We were all in. On a side note, has anyone talked about the fact we tried to trade up for Marietta and Wentz in successive years? Doesn't the fact we struck it 2 years straight explain why we traded up?
  14. I agree, but with UDFA's, those players look for destinations where they have a chance to contribute. Or at least make the team. If he doesn't get drafted, he'll be the top UDFA QB available. Chicago is currently heavily invested in the QB position.
  15. The biggest thing is that going into it, we had 6 picks and a ton of needs. I figured we'd trade down and end up with 8 to 10 draft picks. Instead we end up with 5 draft picks. And every damn one is a project. Every damn one. It's unlikely that those 5 will do much to help our team next year. Not to mention, every single one was arguably a reach.
  16. Dang! Nice call! Although you pry didn't expect him in the 4th.
  17. Yeah. You hate to compare this to previous Bear drafts, but typically when we've done this, the players suck and the GM gets fired. Maybe our next GM and head coach will lead us to the promised land

    Day three

    Don't forget corner back
  19. And he's coming off a bad injury. So like everyone else we've drafted, he should be ready to start in 2018. Did we really have to trade up to get him?
  20. We hoped we would trade down in round #1. Draft multiple players to start on opening day and help us in the future. We traded up. Drafted a QB who will start in 2018. Traded down. Drafted a TE who might help us in 2018. At best, this is a mediocre team next year. That's at best.
  21. Unless his hands suck. There is speculation his hands suck.
  22. Best draft pick since Mark Bradley
  23. Apparently we do not plan on winning next season
  24. Yep. We currently have a 2, two-4's, a 5 and a 6. We need more numbers here
