Cliff Stein Doin' Work
That's awesome! And I give Stein tons of credit for the Bears having tons of cap space year after year. After the 2014 season, we extended Cutler, Marshall, signed Willie Young, Alan Houston, and Jared Allen to big contracts. We were able to spend freely and we're still 7 million under the cap. That being said, with the rookie scale, what's the deal? Why does it take teams several months to sign their rookies? I believe with the #1 pick, there is an issue with a 5th option year. Kevin White accepted it, so in his 5th year, we can use it giving him the average of the top 25 WR's in the league. Otherwise, we'd have to franchise him and give him top 5 average salary. In short, with the rookie scale, signing rookies ain't a big deal.

IF they live up to their potential....
Agreed. We've added lots of really solid football players. But who on this team makes the pro-bowl? Parnell McPhee? One of our really old former pro-bowlers like Jared Allen, Antrelle, Rolle, or Jay Ratliff? We expect Eddie Goldman to be a solid run-stuffing nose. Not a big player maker thus not pro-bowl material.

OT Tayo Fabuluje
In round 6. ESPN had him ranked as the 321st best player in the draft.

6th Round Pick
Think it will be a cornerback. Still a need. I could really see us trading it for a late #6 and a #7.
-
5th round pick
That's good speed. Nice pick.
-
5th round pick
Agreed. I think this draft has set a record for the fewest trades ever. I keep expecting the Bears to move down. I'll be SHOCKED if we don't draft a secondary player here. Course I was SHOCKED we didn't in round #4.

5th round pick
CB Ifo Ekpre- is still available.
-
Bears Draft RB Langford
Disagree on both. I don't think we view him so much as a replacement as we do a #2 back and reduce the load. The fact he can do all the things Forte can is nice. If Forte continues to be great, I think we'll look to resign him. Also, with the age of 30, I think that's more about mileage and wear on the body then it is actual age. So his might be age 32.

5th round pick
How about La'El Collins? Although we REALLY need help in the secondary.
-
Bears Draft RB Langford
He was considered the best "all around" back in terms of blocking, receiving and running. Also good special teams background. Apparently we really don't like Kadeem Carey. I am STUNNED we've drafted offense with 3 of our first four picks. STUNNED.

GM ability
I was again the Marshall trade. However, once I realized that we were going to emphasize "team first" instead of "me first" and send that message, I think it's a step in the right direction. We're no longer catering to a-holes. I'm good with drafting Kevin White as long as we can resign Alshon. Otherwise it will be like we're just spinning our wheels at the position.

4th Round Big Board
You left off Doran Grant that Scouts had ranked 86th overall. They have Gaines 94 and Ekpre #103. Our new scheme places more of an emphasis on corner coverage. IMO, after 3 rounds of the draft, corner is our thinnest position. We have Kyle Fuller, Allan Ball, and Tim Jennings. After that we have a bunch of special teams guys. CB is an area of great need and we can get a pretty good one in the 4th.

GM ability
I was thinking the same thing. Kevin White will be a 2015 starter. In 2016, I feel like along with White, Grasu will be the starting center and Goldman the starting nose. These all seem like safe picks that will be starting players for years. GM's talk about building their teams from inside-out, Pace started with the center on offense and defense.

Bears draft Oregon C
ESPN has him ranked as the 87th best player in the draft. They rave about his character and leadership.

Bears draft Oregon C
Twitter. There's a delay. It's Hroniss Grasu

3rd Round Big Board
No La'el Collins? If he's innocent, it's one helluva a pick.

anybody Thinking. ...
We don't need to draft another bad QB.
-
DT Eddie Goldman to the Bears
As for playing anywhere, he's 6-4 336. There's only one position he's playing at that weight.
-
DT Eddie Goldman to the Bears
Yep. I really feel like we've drafted two potential opening day starters. I'd also add that the two positions we neglected the most in free agency were DT and WR. No smokescreens.
-
Randy Gregory
We agree again! Although I'm still pissed the Jets took Williams.
-
YES!!!!!!!!!!!
It's always nice when a player falls to us in the 2nd round. Not when we reach for a player (Jon Bostic/Ego Ferguson)
-
Jay Taking Care of White
He probably made White pick up the tab and then drive him to the nudie bar.
-
DT Eddie Goldman to the Bears
He's a big fat lineman for the 3-4. Two down player. Here's why we didn't take Danny Shelton
