What the hell??? We play Manning at nickel all off-season then move him BACK to FS??? Two of the last 3 seasons have ended primarily because DM was out of position and got torched. How many times are we going to move Corey Graham? He has a change to earn the FS job, he's moved to nickel when DM gets hurt, so when Peanut goes down he becomes the back-up corner???? I'm pissed. Lovie used to preach of the importance of keeping guys in the same position. Our secondary is 29th in the league and all we do is juggle guys. Ubelievable.

Urlacher was defensive POY in 2005 and a finalist in 2006. So far all Cutler's done is work hard & get drunk with Olsen. I only mention that cause it's easy to jump on the Cutler band-wagon. Come on, Pix. Its hard to believe Url said something stupid. When has the guy said anything smart? I've grown tired of Url's act. The whole "pay me" and then play mediocre is old. This defense needs a leader, so he needs to put up or shut up. Agreed 100%. His erratic behavior is starting to remind me of Favre. Except #54 ain't never won a Super Bowl and he don't have a street named after him. If he is mad that Cutler is the talk of the town or whatever junior high bullcrap he is doing, he needs to get over it. Urlacher said it never happened. Not true IMO, but that implies he'll get over it. And there is a difference between calling people stuff to their face and saying it to your "Viking" friend. Have you ever seen an old friend/colleague and proceed to talk smack about somebody you both know? Much like an old woman who gossips, I'm guilty of it . . . and most people have at some point or another. The fact that were talking about Urlacher calling him a pussy is laughable. I'm just happy to have anything to talk about on the eve of TC. If this story goes much further I'll be ticked.
-
Is PPC points per catch? (For some reason I always called that PPR) I personally HATE the individual defensive player. Perfer the team. I like the standard WR/RB flex league. I guess I like most of the "standards" just cause that's what I'm used to. But I'll adapt to whatever.

The SCORE also had two sources saying that it may not have been at the OTA's, but at somepoint Urlacher went after Cutler. The SCORE also "unofficially" said a woman was involved. Is that hard to believe? I like how Bobby Wade prefaced it by saying, "I don't want to get him in trouble, BUT . . . " Him dropping that line reminded me of all the fumbles he used to drop. Either way, one guy going after another is no big deal, and neither is the "p" word. The last time we had a player conflict like this we went to the Super Bowl (Thanks Cedric). Even if it's stupid, I'm just happy the SCORE is talking about football.
-
The SCORE is also reporting there's a 3rd party that's the cause of the friction . . . (they mentioned that a previous caller was 100% correct and made jokes about balls flying past Urlacher's head . . . I have no idea what that meant. I personally believe that: 1. It's 100% true 2. It really doesn't matter. I don't give a damn if they don't like each other. Especially since neither will be on the field at the same time.

Thanks for the invite but at noon on Sunday I'll be approaching TC. I plan on getting in line at 1:00 for when they open the gates at 2:00 for the 3:00 practice.

I hope that's correct. I just remember Chris Williams getting injured on the first day of training camp, and he wasn't back until week 8 or 9. Maybe Chris Williams had a worse injury or maybe playing tackle made it more difficult. Having the opportunity to shut him down for 6 weeks to make sure he's more then ready to go might make sense. Of course it depends on his progress.
-
Sheer speculation, but since he won't be at training camp I'm guessing he can start the season on the PUP list? So he'll be back after week 6?

I stumbled across this on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBZj5pJNuSA I've seen it all before, but damn it's fun to watch. Especially about the 5 minute 40 second mark when he circles around and just runs through 5 Viking players like they were spectators. It's too bad Jeff Joniaks "Windy City Flyer" label never caught on. Either way, I'd much rather see Hester working at this then becoming a #1 WR.

While I hate (love) to be a smartass, here is what was posted previously: Ok. These are all free leagues. Everyone who will definitely do a pay league either pm me or post in the thread. I need to know if you can draft on either Aug 30th or Sept 6th, a basic idea of what type of league you would like it to be scoring and player wise and a range of money you would be comfortable playing for. Once I get an idea of what Im looking at I will create the league. I already have a few people who have committed to being in the league so if I get a few more we will move along quickly. So, even if you have sent me a PM already or posted that you would like to be in it somewhere on here please do it again to let me know you are still interested.

Maybe it's just me, but it keeps saying "League is not registered." I tried it for talkbears leagues 1, 2, and 3. No good. Is anyone else having this problem? As for the pay-league, I'll happily pay up to $50.00. Please sign me up. I'd prefer we keep it to 10 teams, otherwise it gets too diluted. Other then that, I really don't care.
-
I'd thought you were going to say Donnie Avery. He really got better as the year went on. He's a former #1 draft pick and he's easily their #1 WR. He's pre-ranked at #74. He might be a steal there.
-
We need to get times set up ASAP. I already have two drafts for the weekend of August 30th. I don't know about a $100.00 league, but I wouldn't mind coughing up $50.00.
-
Good luck selling the pre-season tickets. Is there a bigger hose-job anywhere then pre-season ticket prices? Not to mention the $50.00 to park, etc.. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to go, but not for that much. Don't feel too bad about buying the wrong tickets . . . last year I finally got through on Ticketbastard, and I was so excited I didn't both to check how much they were. It turned out to be $250.00 tickets in the Cadillac Club (or whatever club it is now.) It came to $560.00 total. I about shit. I wouldn't have minded paying that much for great seats, or for playoff tickets . . . but the seats were high in the back-corner. I sure as hell didn't have that much to spend. I sold them on e-bay and actually lost $50.00. While cheap seats go for double, nobody wants the damn club seats.
-
Like you, I got booted for the double browser (it didn't do that last year.) I tried again and snagged two to the Arizona game in section 429 for $68.00 each . . . although the total came up to $169.00. I immediately went back in and the only thing left were single tickets for $350.00. Wow. That means after 3 minutes, pretty much all double seats were sold out. Damn that's fast. Last year I'd tried to by 4 seats and got assed out completely. I knew better this time.

Further, I like the situation we have now, which is one I have never seen. We have a legit franchise QB, and behind him, we have a young QB w/ talent who can develop over a period of time. That is the situation teams love to have, but one our franchise has always lacked. Why the hell would we worry about developing a young QB??? That's pretty much all we've done for the past 50 years and where has it gotten us? Instead of developing, they usually end up cut and are soon out of the league. If they're lucky they end up as a #3. The exception to this is Orton, but I'm anxious to see how he plays this year. The plan is for Cutler to be the franchise qb for the next 10 years. To hell with the young talent. The only reason I can think of for developing a guy is that he might be the next Matt Cassell. But our back-up will be throwing to Hester & Bennett, which is a far cry from Moss & Welker. Griese - The problem w/ Griese is, he wants to play, and has said as much. I am not sure how ready he is to sign for the minimum, or for a team where he has no legit shot to play. I think he is more likely to look at teams w/ a less stable QB situation, you know, like the bears for decades leading up to this season. Not saying he will demand an opportunity to start right off, but look for a team where the starter is less established, and where he may have a shot at some point during the season. Griese needs to decide if he wants to be a #2 or if he wants to retire. If he couldn't cut it with Miami, Tampa Bay, Chicago, and Tampa Bay, he ain't going to cut it anywhere. In Tampa Bay & Chicago he had a great opportunity to become the man and he failed. Hopefully he's smart enough to figure out his time has passed. Losman - Honestly, I don't even know what is up here. Loseman was a QB I wanted to target heading into the offseason. While he didn't develop as expected, he has only failed w/ one team, which means something to me. He would seem ideal, but I also have to wonder why he has drawn zero interest around the league. Even freaking Cade McNown drew interest after failing in Chicago. 1st round picks who fail w/ one team always seem to find other teams interested, but nothing for Losman. I just don't know what is up, but wonder if there is something we don't know about. Losman's young enough where he's a guy I could see signing as a #2 hoping to become a #1. For that reason, he'd be nuts to sign with Chicago. There has to be better opportunities for him. No question a more experienced QB would make everyone feel a bit more comfortable, especially if we we only go w/ 2 QB. At the same time, while I do not think Hanie is the next Romo, I do wonder if he wouldn't be just as good as most any other options available. It's the known versus the unknown. With our defense getting older, I view us as having a 2-3 year window to win the Super Bowl. Why the hell would we risk having an inexperienced back-up?
-
Agreed. I'd even take it one step further: Does any team pick up Caleb Hanie if we cut him? There seems to be a glut of veteran QB's available who we could likely sign for the minimum. Losman & even Brian Griese are the first two the come to mind. I know there are those who believe that Hanie could be the next Tony Romo, but I have a BAD feeling he's far more likely to fall into the "Chad Hutchinson, Medicine Woman, Craig Krenzel" category. We sign a durable veteran as a back-up and we can easily go with two.
-
So when are you setting the leagues up?
-
I just found out that one of my pay leagues is dissolving, so I wouldn't mind being in two $20.00 leagues if we have enough to join. I'd prefer to keep the team number at 10 if possible. When you get 12 the talent becomes too diluted.
-
Crappy 4th. Hasn't quit pouring down rain here in Central IL. But thanks for the sentiment.
-
Sunday August 30th would be good. I'd prefer it on a Saturday or Sunday. Time doesn't matter.
-
Agreed with setting it up early. Although I wouldn't want to have the actual draft until after the 3rd pre-season game. I'd love to draft Tom Brady and have him re-injure his knee before the season starts.
-
My fault Mongo. I couldn't get it to load and thought it meant for this year. I should have known you wouldn't be that upset about this year.
-
Our defense has been god-awful ever since Chico left. The thought is that Urlacher's old, Harris is hurt, and if Lovie's boy Bob Babbich couldn't get it done, why should Lovie be able to get it done?
