With only a few days until the draft are you getting excited or do you have anxiety? All the conjecture and BS stops on draft night. Are the anti-Williams folks resigned to the choice or still hoping for a last minute surprise? Is your focus more on the second pick at this point? I’m hoping for an Offensive Tackle myself More importantly, how are you feeling about the season? Things should be much improved but we’ll have a rookie QB. There are obvious exceptions but usually that’s a tough first year. Lastly, are there any FA’s left that you’d add depending on what happens in the draft?

Cool. I didn’t know that. But simulations are far different than what happens when humans get involved.

Now moving up for Alt might be a different story. I might do that but only next year’s second, not first. We’re only moving up 4 spots.

I would have traded back and picked MHJ but not the other way around. And gotten all the extra picks, etc. Fields is gone and that ship has sailed. Take a blue chipper at 9 and be done with it.

I love the OL help, conceptually. Don’t want to drop back if one of the top guys are available at 9 though.

Maybe a new branch on this thread but I still want to grab a blue chip OT with 9.

Lots of rumors out there connecting him to the Bears. Anyone reading anything that suggests it’s more than just internet speculation?

Pix, thanks. I absolutely hated this when I first heard about it but have come around. It’s putting the return game back in play but with hopefully fewer injuries and penalties. Kickoffs have been boring as hell for too long.

Preseason sucks and the HOF game is the worst one. But if the Bears are playing, I’m watching. LOL

DBDB - I’ll admit it was all hearsay and things some said here. I hope I’m 100% wrong (and so was all the stuff I heard) since it really looks like he’s a Bear in April.

He appears to be a better passer than Fields. No pressure, etc. So who knows. But we’re past that now and all we can do is move on and hope for the best!

I’m pissed off. Not only because I’m a Fields fan but mostly because this is crap. They procrastinated through the time when a much better deal was available. They’re going to have a huge problem explaining this to the Fields or Die people out there. I’m embarrassed to have believed in Poles.

For the capologists here, what happens if they ultimately get to a long term deal?

The data is skewed a bit by the fact that teams drafting in the top ten are the worst in the league. By the way, despite that, there are still some great names on your list.

Dumb call by Campbell, plain and simple. He’s a meathead but usually it works for him so more power to him. Him team plays hard and has progressed. The momentum swung hugely when they failed on the first go for it attempt. He could have taken that three and gone back up by 14 or 17. Instead he gave them the short field and it was a close game only minutes later.

That is very well said. I haven’t ever put my finger on just this well but you nailed it. He’s fun to watch play (and frustrating at times) and just a good dude. I’d be 100% behind sticking with him if he’d ever shown the ability to drive the team for a comeback win. He’s come close but hasn’t done it to my recollection.
