  1. Martz will be with the Bears next season.
  2. They're both tools. With that said, it wouldn't surprise me if the Bears went 0-4 the rest of the way. It also wouldn't surprise me if they won 2 or 3. This team is as good as the D and Cutler's decision making allows them to be. If Cutler takes the sack rather than tossing it up, even our glaring issues at O Line are diminished. If he doesn't fumble or get injured. The O Line seems to be run blocking well and that's better than nothing. If you can keep 'em honest with the run, hit the right number of passes and get turnovers on the D, you can win in this league. And usually, our ST's are better than our opponents too which gives us better field position and can lead to easier scores. I'm not paying attention to the national media these days because they just irritate me. And Colin Cowhead isn't worth my time even when he isn't talking Bears. He's an idiot.
  3. Perfectly said. Hey, I'm generally not a fan of the "Prevent" but in this case it was worked to perfection other than the unbelievable pass Vick threw for the TD. And if he was capable of that miracle, imagine if the Bears had played their regular D and gave that pass up a few minutes earlier... This team has FOUR former/current head coaches on it and while the former ones failed as head coaches they were all well respected in the areas they're currently employed in by the Bears. I'll take their decision making over some internet "expert" any day. Internet "experts" all believe they'd have this team at 11-0 right now. Yeah, right...
  4. Ha, I actually took Young's comments as overall positive so to each his own. Basically the way I saw his comments were the Bears have the chance to get to the Superbowl if Jay plays less risky. And frankly Jay had more than one bad throw yesterday. The TD pass to Olsen was a pick if not for a great play by the TE. And the TD pass to Bennett on the outside was thrown off his back foot and floated there. If Samuel was on the field, that's a pick 6 the other way. So, in short, I agree with Young. This team has a chance to do something interesting BUT they need to see continues growth from Cutler.
  5. The "prevent" worked in this case as it was supposed to. 100% All the D was out there to do was keep them from scoring before the 2 minute warning. And they almost kept them from scoring period, but for an absolutely perfect pass into triple coverage. I'd say the coaches not only get a pass on the game from me but deserve a pat on the back.
  6. Amen to that. I just thought it showed heart. Hell, even ol' man Olin was kicking ass yesterday. I love it when this team plays with a chip on its shoulder. And whoever said above that Jay isn't getting the preferencial treatment Manning, Brady, etc get, you're right! But he hasn't earned that treatment yet either. A few more games like yesterday and maybe he'll be considered an A+ QB by the refs.
  7. Cutler has lost his confidence. Blame the line troubles, coaching or his lack of intestinal fortitude. Whatever you like. He's got happy feet now and is throwing the ball up for grabs. There isn't an easy answer here guys, the O Line isn't a quick fix and Cutler's swagger is gone.

    Mark my words

Per sources I've spoken to personally in the Green Bay area, this is absolutely nothing new for Favre. He's been a well-known womanizer up there since his career started. Remember he was best buds with Chewy when that little hot tub incident happened and Chewbacca was accused of rape. Not a laughing matter. It was pure dumb luck that Bert Favor wasn't there that night.
  9. Tell me, what kind of guy sends cell phone pictures of his crank to a woman he doesn't know while his wife is battling cancer? In the history of douchey behavor, this has got to rate a 10.
  10. Kyle who? He doesn't play for the Bears.
  11. I agree with your agreement.
  12. Couldn't agree with you more on this one Pix. With that said, I personally said the Bears wouldn't score this week until they brought Hanie in. If I can see it, why can't they? And why didn't they drop this dead weight before he embarrassed himself? And yeah, for the smartasses out there on this board, I know the Bears put up some points while Collins was in the game. But I'd say NONE of it had anything to do with him. Solid D, great special teams and a Matt Forte that looks completely back from his injury made the difference. Let's hope we get Cutler back this week and his confidence is back. We can't have a QB with happy feet out there like he had against the Giants.
  13. I'm not a huge Hanie backer or anything either but DAMN!!! At least Hanie has a little life in him. Collins was DONE years ago.
  14. http://deadspin.com/5658206/ This story has been out there for a while now but there are now pictures and audio tapes of him. This could be interesting.
  15. Yep. And he didn't tell Cutler to wind up like he was a major league pitcher on every throw either... Or pound the ball 15 times looking for the deep route only when guys are running free 10 yards from him waving their arms.
  16. Bears get shutout in the first half, go to Hanie in the second and get 10 points from him. I gotta feeling we're losing this weekend.
  17. Well there I agree with you.
  18. Collins blows. He ought to be cut after his performance last weekend. He proved he doesn't belong on an NFL field anymore.
  19. Puh lease. Drop all the melodrama will ya fella? He had a concussion. Quit talking about the guy like he's about to kick the bucket. About 100 NFL guys have a concussion every season and they all seem to survive. It's getting multiple concussions that does the damage over time. And if Cutler's was a major deal, he wouldn't even be being considered for this week.
  20. If this is true I take back my harsh assessment of Cutler. I read that look on his face as not giving a shit. And his tossing the ball in the air as he was running out of bounds, etc. was all part of that body language I talked about in my earlier post. It looked like he gave up to me... early. I hope I'm wrong.
  21. Give me a damn break. Cutler got sacked legitimately 4 times and IMO ran into a bunch of others. Two of the "sacks" were him running out of bounds behind the line. Yes, the line BLOWS and I've been saying that for several years. Several here have debated me on that FACT and now want to jump on that bandwagon. Welcome aboard! But that doesn't change the fact that Jay quit on this team well before the alleged concussion occured. You would've never seen Jimmy Mac or hell, even Favre, do what Cutler did yesterday. And this forum can get on me all they want for the title but I stand by it 100%! The Giants got into his head with the first couple of sacks and he wasn't even looking for receivers at some point. He was watching the line collapse around him and dancing around. And what the HELL happened to his delivery? He had the biggest windmill of a throwing motion I've ever seen last night! You're all right, Martz didn't help by continuing to bullheadedly call deep routes. But there have to be checkdowns available and several times I saw receivers in the middle of the field open. Cutler didn't get the ball off anywhere near as quickly as he needed to. Get used to it fellas. This line sucks AS PREDICTED and it ain't getting better. And now every team in the NFL knows they can get in Cutler's head but putting him on his ass a few times early in the game. This is going to get ugly.
  22. Bullshit. You mix it up. A moving pocket is an easy thing to try. It's crazy to have him keep taking 7 step drops and pound the ball. And that wasn't the only thing I said to try. This is embarrassing.
  23. Wish that could explain the first 29 minutes.
  24. I've never seen a guy quit on his team like I'm seeing from Jay tonight. Sure, the line is playing poorly but close to half the sacks thus far are purely ON JAY. Probably more. And his body language is totally unacceptable. If I were Lovie I'd bench him. Roll him out, go to shorter drops. Jesus, this isn't rocket science!
