Yep. And he didn't tell Cutler to wind up like he was a major league pitcher on every throw either... Or pound the ball 15 times looking for the deep route only when guys are running free 10 yards from him waving their arms.
-
Bears get shutout in the first half, go to Hanie in the second and get 10 points from him. I gotta feeling we're losing this weekend.
-
Well there I agree with you.
-
Collins blows. He ought to be cut after his performance last weekend. He proved he doesn't belong on an NFL field anymore.
-
Puh lease. Drop all the melodrama will ya fella? He had a concussion. Quit talking about the guy like he's about to kick the bucket. About 100 NFL guys have a concussion every season and they all seem to survive. It's getting multiple concussions that does the damage over time. And if Cutler's was a major deal, he wouldn't even be being considered for this week.
-
If this is true I take back my harsh assessment of Cutler. I read that look on his face as not giving a shit. And his tossing the ball in the air as he was running out of bounds, etc. was all part of that body language I talked about in my earlier post. It looked like he gave up to me... early. I hope I'm wrong.

Give me a damn break. Cutler got sacked legitimately 4 times and IMO ran into a bunch of others. Two of the "sacks" were him running out of bounds behind the line. Yes, the line BLOWS and I've been saying that for several years. Several here have debated me on that FACT and now want to jump on that bandwagon. Welcome aboard! But that doesn't change the fact that Jay quit on this team well before the alleged concussion occured. You would've never seen Jimmy Mac or hell, even Favre, do what Cutler did yesterday. And this forum can get on me all they want for the title but I stand by it 100%! The Giants got into his head with the first couple of sacks and he wasn't even looking for receivers at some point. He was watching the line collapse around him and dancing around. And what the HELL happened to his delivery? He had the biggest windmill of a throwing motion I've ever seen last night! You're all right, Martz didn't help by continuing to bullheadedly call deep routes. But there have to be checkdowns available and several times I saw receivers in the middle of the field open. Cutler didn't get the ball off anywhere near as quickly as he needed to. Get used to it fellas. This line sucks AS PREDICTED and it ain't getting better. And now every team in the NFL knows they can get in Cutler's head but putting him on his ass a few times early in the game. This is going to get ugly.
-
Bullshit. You mix it up. A moving pocket is an easy thing to try. It's crazy to have him keep taking 7 step drops and pound the ball. And that wasn't the only thing I said to try. This is embarrassing.
-
Wish that could explain the first 29 minutes.
-
I've never seen a guy quit on his team like I'm seeing from Jay tonight. Sure, the line is playing poorly but close to half the sacks thus far are purely ON JAY. Probably more. And his body language is totally unacceptable. If I were Lovie I'd bench him. Roll him out, go to shorter drops. Jesus, this isn't rocket science!

Pretty luke warm endorsement.

I think he'll be a sub or in a rotation all year long. We won't get offered anything for him at this point anyway, given his contract. I still feel like there may be more to this story.
-
Frankly, you're both right. If the players produced they'd make Lovie look smarter (or luckier at least.) But going for it then and there when you could put the game score at a comfortable lead, particularly after failing over and over... Made no sense at all. And going into "prevent" with the score being what it was then absolutely made no sense at all. Angelo deserves the blame for this line. Without question. If it comes together and isn't the huge weakness I believe it to be, he'll then deserve the credit for sticking to his guns. But right now they don't appear to be a team strength and that's very kind of me. I'm happy with the production of this offense (aside from the turnovers) but with that said, I'm not sure what'll happen when we play defenses that exploit our line. I was in the 3-13 category before this game and while we were lucky to win, we were a few fundamental plays away from blowing the Lions out. So, upgrading my take on the season to 6-10 isn't out of the realm of reality. That still gets Lovie fired.

You boys know I'm one of the biggest koolaid kids here. So, it may surprise you to hear this... THIS TEAM SUCKS. No, not tonight. Who gives a SHIT about tonight? * I've been bitching about the O Line for 3 years or longer. Angelo has ignored it. Biggest problem on the team now, no question. * We bring in almost an entirely new coaching staff. Everyone knows it usually takes a new staff two years to pull it all together. What do we do? We SIT our starters for most of the preseason and when they play they SUCK BALLS. * We have one of the toughest schedules I can remember. Our own division is great and we play the east in the AFC and NFC. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!!!! *Our LB's are all injured and our DB's all pretty much blow. The Bears know there isn't going to be football next year and they've dealt the team a hand that will allow them to cut everyone and sit on the sidelines with no expenses for the lost season. They'll then bring in a new GM and staff, slowly. God I hope I'm wrong.

I can't tell you how HAPPY this makes me. I LOVE it when bad things happen to douchebags.

Tice is a troll. His brain is the size of a pea. His using the word "elite" means nothing since he could've meant to use one of 10,000 other words and they just didn't come to him while the synapses of his brain fizzled. With that said, this grunting giant dope is going to be one hell of an O Line coach. Face it, they're all oafs. They speaka his language.

I have no problem with the Cutler trade. He didn't live up to expectations but I still love the deal. The Gaines Adams deal made no sense.

I think you guys are NUTS! If JA proved anything with this draft he proved he blew the SAME position picks in recent drafts. This is ONLY made better if we sommehow bring in Faneca and these crapshot guys in the secondary we drafted pan out. Tice should be able to coach up the OL but you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. RD3 - Major Wright FS - OK pick. We were lucky he fell to us. I think he'll fit the system well. RD4 - Corey Wooten DE - Hasn't JA learned from picking injury prone players yet? RD5 - Joshua Moore DB - I hope he can play corner. I'm sick of drafting nicklebacks who suck donkey cock. RD6 - Dan LeFavour QB - Sure, I like the kid. It was a great scene in suburban Chicago when he was picked. But we need a #2 and that's going to be a veteran. That means we'll tie up 3 spots for QB. When you have a guy like Cutler, you should beef up the line to protect him and expect he'll play every game. Let me ask you, how many times have the Colts had a #3 QB on the roster during Manning's tenure? RD7 - J'Marcus Webb OT - Probably won't make the team. Not that many #7's do. We should've went for the center from Notre Dame who went 2 picks after we picked the QB. He's got real potential and under Tice would've been someone we could count on when old man Olin dies on the field. You know I'm usually a very positive koolaid drinker but damn if I can find it in me to like this bunch.

Angelo needs to get fired if the O Line sucks like I think it's going to SUCK.
-
My question is, assuming this season goes off without a renewal of the CBA and there is no resolution to the problems keeping ownership and players from agreeing, could we see scab football again in 2011? I was reminded of that horror by the fact that Peyton was our QB back during the CareBear era. Is there something in labor law that would prevent that this time around or can the owners declare a deadlock and hire scabs to fill the uniforms and break the union?

The only problem I have with Turner's firing is that it took a year or two too long to do. As for Martz, this is a one year experiment for the entire staff. If things don't come together quickly, the whole shooting match is going to hell. And the Bears may actually hope 2011 is a year without football. They could bring in Cowher and have him slowly put his pieces in place. With that said, I'm excited about the Bears next year and I wouldn't have been with Turner at OC. At least it'll be different. Perhaps not better. Time will tell. Nothing will improve unless we get some horses in the O Line and the D backfield. Hell, I called for Hester to be traded or cut and now with Martz on board, the kid may have a lot of upside. Who knows. Forte should get back to form in 2010 assuming he's healthy. The O is no longer the biggest concern. This defense is old and doesn't have a lot of depth or headline talent.

Nice list, toolbox.

What is this? It takes forever to load and I've got a T1 here.
