Let's hope that isn't the case. We're seeing in dramatic fashion what 8 years of complete Republican rule leads to. I know the Dems have had "control" of the Congress these last 18 months but: 1.) Face it, impeachment wasn't a realistic option and that's the only thing that would've stopped Bush/Cheney 2.) The Senate rules make it impossible to change course without 60 votes So, when you have a loose cannon President and no real opportunity to stop him, you try to contain him until you can make a change at the top. That's why it's so important that we elect Obama. I'm not saying he's god or anything, hell if I know. But he's not controlled by the same interests who've been taking us down this perilous path for 8 years now. He simply can't do any worse than McCain would now that McCain is beholding to the same powers Bush is.

I don't have confirmation of this but a fantasy site is reporting it to me via email.

Historically I've been one of the biggest Grossman backers here. But I still think the coaches made the right decision going with Orton. Grossman and his happy feet didn't win them or me over. I assumed Rex would win the job but, unfortunately, he didn't. Orton wasn't great yesterday (or against the Colts) but let's face it, in two games he did enough for us to win. Olsen gave this one away. BTW... After hearing that the play to Booker was an Orton audible, I'm backing off the fire Turner thing. He called a decent game until the late third quarter. I still think he needs to grow a pair but the biggest blunder in this game wasn't Ron's.
-
True. But if we play with some balls in the second half yesterday... And Olsen doesn't play like he has vaseline on his hands, we're 2-0. One other thing, Orton is a big boy now. It's expected of QB's in the NFL that they be able to produce in those situations. I'll give him this one as a "learner" but he's got to step up and Turner has got to take the training wheels off him. If he can't get it done better than this, I'd almost rather have Grossman come in as a "reliever" at the end of the games like this so he can provide some energy. Not being able to produce at least a FG in this situtation is unacceptable. With that said, I personally think Grossman would've pissed the game away a lot earlier given the pressure Carolina was bringing. We need someone with Orton's stability AND the ability to put up 200 to 250 yards per game in the passing attack. This 150 yards bullshit isn't cutting it.

I'd do Palin in a heartbeat. I wouldn't do Clinton with your dick.

Hey Drunk Bomber... Just thought it was a lot more fun arguing with you than dwelling on the game. McCain is old. Later.

I'd like to know where Hester's been.

Obviously Olsen didn't help but this is on RON TURNER. Fire his ass now.

The Chicago Bears have declared RB Adrian N. Peterson, DL Anthony Adams, QB Caleb Hanie, OT Chris Williams, SS Craig Steltz, OG Dan Buenning, WR Earl Bennett, DL Matt Toeaina inactive for Week 2.

How's the cross burning going?

They’ve made this week the Raven’s and Texan’s bye week. The Texans will now play the Bengals in Week 8 and the Ravens in Week 10.
-
Dang. You went for the hippie angle so I went for fat Republican. Thought it was a natural.
-
I understand this is a picture of you at a recent McCain event. BWAAA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! You fat Republican bastard.
-
So predictable. I'm for Obama so in your small, mildly retarded mind, I'm unemployed.

Interesting... Not really Bears related but so topical I thought it really belongs on the main page. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3585348 No decision has been made. Wonder if we could see a Tuesday night game? If postponed deeper into the season, how do you score fantasy games this weekend? Crazy.

Only idiots. In this case, idiot being defined as anyone who'd look around after 8 years of George W. Bush and say "Gee, I'd like 4 more years of this".

Power to the people. or

I've got no patience for folks like you who enabled the man who sent over 4,000 of our fine men and women to their deaths, bankrupted the treasury and trashed the Constitution so you could gain a few silver coins, Judas. You'd rather let this government continue, as is, when so many are obviously hurting and the course we're on is so obviously wrong. Yep, I guess that makes me an idiot. Here's an idea, do what I told you to do in the first place... Put the dunce cap on and go sit with your main man W over there in the corner. The grown-ups have work to do.

Excellent post. I agree with nearly everything. As I've said, I respect(ed) the Jack Kemp Republicans who were more in line with your libertarian philosophy. The problem is, this ain't your daddy's Republican Party. Obviously the Dems have their own issues but I see a sincere interest in competent government from them and that's good enough for me these days. Getting our ducks in a row financially and not shitting on the rest of the world is key. Bringing people who believe in science and who support green initiatives are important to me as well. Remember, you really aren't voting for Obama himself but an administration he'd bring with him. On so many levels, the world is ready for us to become leaders rather than bullies again. Staying out of people's bedrooms and medical decisions is also important to me, even though I'm personally against abortion. I'd also like to have someone in there with the brains to make the right decisons on deploying our troops. A real energy policy not written by the oil companies too! And I'd like to pull the US Constitution out of Cheney's paper shredder.

And a response to those Republicans who now deny voting for Bush... Former Republican John Cole on Sarah Palin: Why do you think they love her so? But Cole really nails it here: Conservatives are trying to rescue the reputation of their battered ideology by claiming that Bush was either incompetent, or not a good enough conservative. It may be laughable, but they've got to somehow explain away why conservatism has failed this country so disastrously. Their ideology is sacrosanct, infallible. Conservatism can't fail, only people can fail conservatism. Yet as Cole notes, the very qualities that made Bush such a failure are perfectly encapsulated in Palin (with a healthy dose of Cheney-style abuse of power for added spice). MY TAKE: Obama was right, it's time for Republicans to own their failure. Stop passing the buck or trying to repackage this dog shit you've been peddling. We're not buying. Go stand in the corner and shut the f*ck up. We'll take it from here.
