  1. It's funny because when the Packers lose bad, it's a fluke, but when the Bears lose bad, it's who they are And what’s even more ‘strange’ is how no one realizes how one-dimensional GB is. Look no further than their TB game where TBs Defense was relentless with its pressure on Rodgers. That pressure is really what turned the game in their favor and revealed GBs HUGE vulnerability. Or heck, how about the game a few years ago (Mack’s first as a Bear) where Rodgers was injured for most of the game. The team did a 180 when he was out...until he came back.
  2. I’d agree with this; especially in the case of Mahomes and with his set up (coaching) in KC. Watson is in a bit of a ‘weirder’ scenario with former HC O’Brien’s sudden self-destruct scenario breaking out late last year. One that saw Watson lose his best WR in Hopkins and some other odd occurrences. Yet as you point out, Watson is still doing ok; despite it and his team not winning.
  3. Yes there was/is. Since the interview with Griese and after the game, Foles has since walked back some of his comments. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2020/10/26/21535701/matt-nagy-nick-foles-react-to-espns-brian-grieses-comment-on-broadcast
  4. I was wondering about that. I have seen a lot of teams sign players to their PS when it would seem they’d go straight to their active roster. Antonio Brown to TB as one example.
  5. The Packers beat them by 7 (37-30) in NO a few weeks ago. Would be interesting to see how well the Bears do in comparison. Considering how bad they lost to TB a week after the Bears beat them.

The Bears are maintaining their top 5 standing in a few categories. There is a grey lining to every cloud .
  7. He’s been signed. Safe to assume Ginn is done? PR fixed...now onto the Oline.
  8. 2. I didn't watch most of last night but the little bit I did see highlighted the two largest blights on this team. Nagy's playcalling and the line's inability to block. I had just tuned in after Foles missed the wide open Mooney streaking down the left side of the field. As Griese pointed out, the reason Foles could not get that ball to Mooney was because he could not step into the throw. Same for many of the throws last night and really throughout this season. Was that also why Trubisky couldn't hit anything longer than 20 years with consistency? Dunno. Naqy's playcalling is hampering Foles' abilty to run the offense. Last week I commented that Foles is better at running the offense than Nagy is calling it and I still believe that. The only reason I would suggest a change between Foles and Trubisky at this point is because of Mitch's mobility, but that's about it. What he gains in mobilty, he lacks in decision making and consistency. 3. From what I could see Mustipher seemed to do ok. Of course the whole O-line was pretty much a sieve for most of the night so it really was hard to see whether he specifically held his own. 4. Again...Nagy. Historically speaking, at least during the Pace age, the success of this team has been largely on the defensive side of the ball. Fox ushered in a defensive mindset with a vanilla offense that was perfect for the team rebuild needed at the time. He also brought along with him Vic Fangio. There is no question Vic built the defense to what it is and has been since that time. Pagano has continued that but with a few adjustments of his own. Ironically enough the struggle we see and have been is on the offense side of the ball. Nagy most likely isn't the answer to fix it.
  9. Was it Griese that noted Graham coming out right as they most needed him? Seems an odd call for sure now that it blew up. Nagy is proving he's not up to the job. (And now Whitehair is out...ugh). Defense is gassed, plain and simple.
  10. I’d like to see what L. Miller, Pierce and/or Nall can offer. I have to think Miller is still recovering from last year’s injury if he hasn’t played yet.
  11. This game might be just the time where Nagy starts adding Trubisky as a gadget player or distraction. Maybe lining him up in the slot occasionally and running pass plays from there. Or even doing a modified “Philly special” with Foles rotating to the edge and Trubiksy looking to throw to Foles or run it himself. A few years back the only offensive TD scored against the Rams was when Trubiksy threw a TD to Bradley Sowell. MNF seems like a good stage to pull our some tricks. Would be a good way to keep Mitch involved and feel like he’s contributing.
  12. HOLY HELL!
  13. Saw a story pop up about this. Possible help at PR where he’s historically done well and so far Ginn Jr is struggling. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/gm-report/bears-give-tryout-to-former-pro-bowl-punt-returner
  14. Can’t help note that TB is #1 on this list, and the Bears beat them. Hmmmm...
  15. I feel about this game similar to how I did when they went to LA in 2018 and ended up winning in spectacular fashion. The word to describe it; ‘apprehensive’. I know they are capable is winning but will they? The D is definitely trending up (see pic below). But the offense and specifically the play calling is a huge question mark for me. If Foles gets killed behind the line it’s nearly all over. If the running game doesn’t get established, at some point, they become very one-dimensional (Foles is nowhere near as mobile as Mitch) and Defenses like the Rams will focus on that to disrupt it. All that being said I’m predicting a big game by the D. Jackson (or someone else on D) will finally get a pick six counted and a few other TOs will occur along the way. I get this feeling that Quinn is due a big game. Is this the one?

Seems we aren’t the only ones noticing this (Adam Hoge : Adam...any relation?). https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/hoge-bears-defense-playing-nfls-rules-keeps-getting-punished?fbclid=IwAR3iMstUa7LeIK-iSlxWj3n0K3vsng2AsMWBbmaSe_B59jAiunCeeLM6fZY
  17. Corradelle has been doing this a few times this year. Tried suggesting Bridgewater, Stefon Diggs and even Brady think about joining the Bears during the beginning of the season. And more recently unsuccessfully lobbied for "Snacks" Harrison. Encouraging that he's at least trying. I'm curious why aren't we seeing players like Bars, Mustipher and Spriggs step up? I can only guess Spriggs' more recent injury history is an issue but he has played both Guard and Tackle earlier in his career. Bars and Mustipher were bright prospects on the PS last year....
  18. Interim GM Corradelle Patterson is in: https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/quinton-spain-likes-bears-recruiting-tweet-cordarelle-patterson?cid=Yahoo&partner=ya4nbcs
  19. Aw c’mon Leno isn’t all bad, between he and Massie, Leno’s usually the first one there to pick up Foles after he gets knocked down.
  20. He’s still a bit slow on crossing routes but you’re right, he’s meeting running backs coming out of the backfield with force. As is Gibson by the way...as a true SS should. Im not sure why they brought Te’o on either before they considered a stout NT. Still think they need to fix that for the run D.
  21. Wasn’t directed at you, just in general between here and other sites that talk Bears football. I’m part of a ‘smack-talk’ group on Twitter too that was sure Pagano was the biggest problem on the D. As BF2000 and Adam have said above and you, I think a lot of what we’re seeing from the D right now is Pagano getting more creative and the players getting more time to gel. The lack of a true training camp and PS hurt a lot for what is normally a time to work out any wrinkles. I will say this; what Pagano is making up in creativity Nagy continues to remain stagnant. At this point I think Foles is better at running the offense than Nagy is calling it.
  22. Bears sign LB Monti Te’o to the Practice Squad. Does this spell the end for Danny T? Te’o was a pretty decent LB in college. Had speed like Smith... https://www.chicagobears.com/news/roster-moves-bears-sign-manti-te-o-to-practice-squad
  23. I saw that too. If memory serves he had two receivers along the same line. One that was deep (dont remember who) and covered and one closer in, I believe was Kent who was uncovered. Foles looks to have been trying to either hit the deep receiver or throw it out but as you said didn’t have enough mustard to get it there. I think he could have hit the underneath receiver but want to say he didn’t see him. Foles has had a fair number of throws where he can’t get his feet set and still had just enough to get it to where it needs to be. Something to be said about his ‘balls’ while in the pocket. He’s touched (not necessarily hit) by a defender in just about every passing down.
