  1. There were two 'roughing the passing calls' that were nearly back to back. The first one was the result of the player being blocked into or rolling towards Trubisky while he stepped back (if I recall correctly). The second is the one that you refer to where yes, the defender was clearly late on his hit.
  2. From the "TV" perspective, it was pretty obvious you guys (the Bears fans) were there. Whenever they showed shots of the crowd it would seem there were more blue than red jerseys in the crowd. And the loudness? Well that confused both me and my wife a few times. I kept having to look at the field or scoreboard to remind myself that the team was in Arizona and not in Chicago. Pretty impressive. Again from the TV perspective, a fair number of the mid to long range passes looked way and above the receiver's heads. This is consistent with what we saw in games 1 and 2. Perhaps Gabriel isn't as fast as we'd hoped or Robinson as tall as he appears. But in one example, Trubisky was supposed to be throwing a back shoulder fade to Robinson in the end zone but it sailed about 5-10 feet above him. This by itself wouldn't have been an issue but given we've seen this type play already, and consistently, its concerning. You make light of this below in your own observations, among others. From your perspective, how did White look? I could see that he was on the field for many of the plays but its like Trubisky never once looked at him. Is he not getting open or Trubisky just not getting his progressions? Yes...he (Kush) looked like hot garbage. Might be time to seriously consider getting Daniels in somehow (provided he's as good as advertised). Either he at Guard or Center and Whitehair in wherever they don't put him. Yes its nice to see the team where it is. If they can keep 'stacking wins' then things will be just fine. Could they contend deep into the playoffs right now? No. But there's still a lot of season left and 2-1 is a heck of a lot better than 0-3.
  3. Ultimately Arizona kept Chicago in the game. They had some bad calls (one roughing the passer and unsportsmanlike hit on Gabriel) etc. that helped the Bears’ cause. I fear that if Rosen had started the game this wouldn’t have turned out the same. McCoy did call a good game on the offense side of things. He was able to game plan for Mack pretty effectively. Bradford just wasn’t able to produce late in the game. I think the pressure started to affect him. But....we won and that’s really all that matters. ??
  4. Well played sir! Haha! That’s actually what I was thinking when I saw that first INT.
  5. Sherrick ‘who?’ McManis with the pick!!! my favorite unknown player on the team.
  6. Howard is a beast! Love that kid. https://media.giphy.com/media/3o7aD3NMl3nuMSOvvO/giphy.gif
  7. They don’t have to cover the deep game because Trub has little or no accuracy there. Just about every one of the long range throws have been about 5-10 feet above the receiver. Instead they’re bringing nearly 8 in the box or tight zone on just about every down.
  8. Yay!!!! Trubisky lobs an INT. ? Are you sure this isn’t Cutler incognito?
  9. So...our offense was able to come away with three points thanks to 30 yards of penalties from Arizona. Yay...
  10. Beetle juice...beetle juice....beetle juice.lol ha. Yeah, i know. It’s painful to watch him ‘learn’ while all these other lesser round picks do good for their teams.
  11. I’m absolutely tired of seeing this power run up the middle crap. Go back to zone blocking where Jordan excels! Shite!
  12. Wait... I thought this was a first round pick? He’s our ‘future’?!?! **edit** never mind about Daniel...for now.
  13. Ouch!!! I’d personally like to see Wyms step up now! It would be even better if former 1st rounder White contributed.
  14. Dang you Mad and your eternal optimistic ways!!!! What does a Bear fan have to gripe about if not for its teams’ failure? But I hate to say it...you’re right. There is an awful lot of good going on in Halas Hall these days. When I saw Nagy break the team on ‘family’ before saying “that’s the only thing that matters to me”, I knew we had us a keeper. And now he’s adding the disco ball to the locker room when they win? Just like the Cubs?! Great stuff. Ill try and do my best to minimize my gripes but will be ready to dish my disappointment if I truly am. Until then...a tip of the hat, good day and cheers!
  15. Didn’t quite say he was “shitty”. In fact didn’t even use the word. Just questioned whether his best year was behind him. Not looking back at a ball you’re intending to defense seems would be a basic fundamental as a DB. We all know he has the potential to be a great DB. My concern is he’s only good if there’s a contract to be renewed.
  16. Perhaps your self-affirmed clairvoyance is failing you, or at least clouding your normal perception that the rest of us have. But more on that in a minute. I did watch the game and clearly saw Fuller looking directly into the chest of both Allison (GB) and Lockett (SEA) during their respective TD's. Yes it was tight coverage but he was in no way a position to effectively defense the ball. He was hoping he'd be able to get in the way. Where he was at in both of those plays put him in a better position to get a DPI than anything. And just because I suspect you think my 'Debby Downer' way of thinking is singular, here's this from the Chicago Sun-Times: "The touchdown that Kyle Fuller allowed in the fourth quarter — a 19-yard pass from Russell Wilson to Tyler Lockett — looked a lot like the 39-yarder he gave up to Geronimo Allison the week before. Both throws were in the back right corner of the end zone. Both times, Fuller had his back to the ball when it landed in the receiver’s arms." And this.... "For the second consecutive week, cornerback Kyle Fuller was the victim of a perfect pass. But Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett’s 19-yard touchdown catch against him still will be a focus for Fuller’s coaches. It was a play-action play in which Wilson clearly thought he had the advantage with Lockett against Fuller, who didn’t turn to the ball, play through Lockett’s hands or run him out of bounds. Fuller also was caught flat-footed in zone coverage on Lockett’s 20-yard catch on third-and-five in the fourth quarter. Seven plays later, Lockett beat Fuller for his touchdown." As far as Prince, I love the guy. But it's pretty apparent he's slowing with age. I know his specialty is press coverage but that double juke Adams put on him to score the week prior in GB was something even Hicks could've probably covered. Sports announcers across the league are taking notice of Chicago's D. Mostly because of Mack's arrival but many will say they didn't realize how solid the REST of the defense was now that they are doing what they are. When they speak at length about it they realize the Bear's D has been gradually getting better each of the years Vic has been there. If you think for a minute an owner won't take notice of something like that when it comes to hiring a new HC...well
  17. I saw some article recently speculating that the Chicago D may end up unintentionally committing a homicide at this game. Had to laugh.... We saw what our D can do against mobile QB's. Virginia is more mobile than Sam. I recall either last season or the season prior when Bradford was playing for Minnesota and our D was eating him alive. So they put back in Keenum who ate us up in the passing game. I suspect we'll see Rosen in the game before it's over. Or *gulp* Glennon......LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
  18. Last week Sims was critiqued for being behind the first down line in two of his receptions. One of those was his fault, where he took on a defender head on, rather than go around him, and was stopped. The second was more on Trubisky since Trubisky threw to a place that was easily behind where Sims was located. The throw, more than Sim's route, precipitated our team's inability to make the first down. Yes I saw some resolve from Trubisky especially after those errant throws that resulted in INT's. The problem is there were easily one, two maybe three other throws that could have just as easily turned into turnovers...we just got lucky. He needs more time...plain and simple. This one bothers me the most. Why is it that Nagy isn't using our sole consistent offensive piece more often? The guy only ran 14 times for 35 yards last night. He's proven all of his short NFL career that he can run the ball a bunch of times and get nearly 1000 yards per season doing it. Last week when the Bears had a 20 point lead, Nagy was still playing around with gimmicky plays and not giving Jordan the opportunity to do what Jordan does best . Even last night when the Bears were protecting small leads of 7 and 14 points we see our team going to play action, screens and deep throws more often than having Jordan run it. And is it me or have they completely gone away from zone blocking? It seems that most times Jordan gets the ball he is running straight up the gut and into a defender. What happened to letting him wait for the block to develop before running to the hole? Love Robinson. Thought the same exact thing about that awkward tackle. And after that long INT by Trubisky where Robinson was blown up by the second defender? Seems a bit extreme to me. But yeah...really like Robinson. Amukamura looks old and slow...a majority of the time. The reason he looked good against Marshall was because Brandon is getting old and slow too. I love Prince (especially since he's a Nebraska alum) but we need to start looking for his replacement sooner than later. And Fuller? I'm beginning to think his contract year was going to be the best we'll ever see. Twice in two weeks now he's gotten beat on long scoring plays mostly because he's has his back turned to the throw. This is elementary stuff. If he's not intercepting the ball he should at least do what he can to avoid getting an DPI call. As far as the rest; still like Nagy. His coaching style seems to really work effectively with this relatively young team. Mack is the real deal...no two ways around it. Smith needs more time too and I trust he'll be right up there. And Vic...well at the rate we're going the Bears will need to find whoever can effectively take over for him as he finally gets the chance at HC that he deserves.
  19. Same here Pix. I was going to respond to AZ about this matter but saw your response and felt compelled to add my two cents because my thinking is similar. Comparing Trubisky to Watson and Mahomes right now is not fair to Trubisky. Going back to their college years both Mahomes and Watson had 2.5 (nearly 3) years as starters where Trubisky didn't get that distinction until his Junior (and final) year. In all the games played Mahomes was 857 of 1349 attempts for 11,151 yards with 93 TDs and 29 INTs. Where Watson was 814 of 1207 attempts for 10,168 yards with 90 TD's and 32 INTs (its also noted that he ran for an additional 1934 yards and scored 26 TDs - and played in two NCAA championships; winning one). Lastly although he too had a three year career, Trubisky's total accumulation was 386 of 572 attempts for 4,762 yards with 41 TDs and 10 INTs. Good, bad or indifferent; Trubisky simply hasn't had the same level of experience that these other guys have had. You pair that with his lack of participation in this year's preseason and it's pretty obvious (at least to me) why he seems to be struggling. He simply doesn't have the 'stick time'. I'm still flabbergasted why Pace did what he did to get Trubisky but as many here have pointed out, he's our man. Similar to the rest I'm hoping (wouldn't say optimistic) Trubisky works out. So far I find myself feeling like all we did was get ourselves another Cutler...and that pains me to think that way.
