Cutler sucks
Sticks and stones Cracker. Skills wise and pocket presence wise, Cutler is by far the better QB. They are about equal when it comes to decision making. But Grossman's record speaks for itself. Playoff record (while with the Bears): Grossman 2-1 Cutler 0-1

Cutler sucks
He did have a better record against GB than Cutler has. Even if you're right, the team is still 2-3 at this point. Interesting.

Garza returning and Christian Jones
Good to see Roberto back in time to play against his former team. Although DLP has done well. But what I'm really intrigued by is the possible starting of Christian Jones. I look forward to seeing how he does in a full game. He looked a little raw last week in spot work but something tells me he could be another gem in the making. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...b4-2bc193050e61

Similar to how McCown could have been a better (not best) option in the current regime? That was more rhetorical but I suspect you or someone will respond.

Cutler sucks
I would almost think Grossman was better because not only did he win a playoff game (or two) he also made it to a Super Bowl. Others would make similar comments to include Brian Billick: http://thebiglead.com/2014/10/09/brian-bil...er-jeff-george/

Cutler sucks
Funny since in this above cited article there is another where Calvin Johnson is "frustrated" with playing with a bad ankle these last few weeks and being used as a decoy. Megatron doesn't strike me as any less a player than Marshall when it comes to toughness so curious to see the disparity in this instance.

Cutler sucks
Or in the case where he "miscommunicated" with Cutler and was quadruple covered when one interception was thrown...or not caught.

Cutler sucks
Pretty smarmy of you. In the context of this "discussion" that question has no relevance. And you know it.

How about this?
Since I watch a fair share of Nebraska football I did see some performances of Suh while in college and don't recall his " dirty play" being as much an issue as it is/was with Detroit. Something tells me with Schwartz gone that could be more a thing of the past.

Cutler sucks
In reading the article from Mullin, I got the feeling Trestman wanted to actually call out Cutler more than anyone. It just so happened that looked to point at BM for making the mistake. I have to think Mullin was onto something since earlier in the season there was that other "miscommunication" with Bennett when Cutler threw the short pass behind him and was INT. There have been others over the years that fall prey to "miscommunication" issues that result in INT's. The receivers (and excuses) change but one element remains constant. Cutler.

Bears workout Trindon Holliday
Just read up on him. Sounds like he has "ball security and poor decision issues". This would be better how?

Cutler Doesn't Suck
So speaking in the hypothetical and using 'what if'... and considering hindsight being 20/20.... What if...Hester was kept around for another year or two and Trestman actually utilized him as a return/slot player? Imagine the field position the team would have in many of the games rather than behind the 20 or losing the ball in a fumble . I don't think DeCamaillis could even screw that one up. What if...Cutler hadn't been paid so much for so long? Would the defense have been better through other players brought in? Hindsight says yes, probably a staring safety. But otherwise they did what they could. Think McCown will be available to re-sign next year as a backup for dirt cheap? Considering the experiment in TB doesn't seem to be going so well. What if...Urlacher would have been kept around for one more year? Would it have made a difference for this year? Considering he probably wouldn't have been playing this year? Something tells me that he could have made a difference, if not for only play calling, in last years defensive performance. Some further thoughts on an upcoming reunion: http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpos...amp;src=desktop

I think he was saying that 'tongue in cheek' or being cheeky.

Cutler Doesn't Suck
Issue is, when two of those "bad plays" become turnovers which translate almost directly to points (as they did in Green Bay) then yes he is more than just "part" of the problem. We all agree that the D is a weakness too. Probably expected it. Tucker is running it. Allen is not the same as he once was, nor is Briggs. Houston...was he still on the team? Conte comes and goes each game. And the rest comprise mainly of first year players. Even if this D was performing at 'average level' (say ranked 16th or so) you can't expect them to stop every extra scoring opportunity the opponent gets. Especially if it's extra opportunities they wouldn't have had to begin with.

Cutler sucks
The above stat is why I, as a fan, am most frustrated. And equally frustrated about the second part of what you posted. If the team could somehow put together a winning streak, this discussion would be null and void. If, the Defense was like it had been before (and scoring their own TD's on occasion) there wouldn't be as much pressure on Cutler. His negative stats would be more a footnote than a headline. If Hester (or any competent returner) were on the team and getting the team in better field position (paired with a great defense) again, this all would be moot. But, the fact that Cutler IS having problems and just signed a huge contract, the expectation is for him to take the lead and set the pace. There is no way I can expect Kyle Fuller, Ego Ferguson, Will Sutton or Brock Vereen to take the defense and make them into the powerhouse they once were. Not when compared to the expectations we should have for Cutler.

Cutler sucks
Really? Is that what you call a response? The observations are what they are. And what they are do not translate to someone who is really trying to get better. As you say we have to accept who he is. true, which unfortunately is our QB for the foreseeable future. And with the way he's playing as of late he and the team will stay mediocre.

Cutler sucks
I get what he's saying and have to agree. Jay has been like that for years. Even did it when they brought in that QB coach he liked from Denver, whatever his name was. The fact that each time you see him on the sideline he looks like he's day dreaming or something is a bit disturbing. He has the opportunity to review the previous series and just sits there staring off into space. Now the fact that we see it on TV doesn't necessarily mean that he's doing it all the time but the fact he is when we do is telling.
