  1. As the days turn into weeks and weeks run into "Week 17" I'm feeling more and more confident that the Bears WILL be in the playoffs. However, I am guarded on how well they will do once in the playoffs. Things as they are right now; Kaepernick is a "known" entitiy and Mannigham is out I better like the chances of Chicago against SF matchup redux. That with the return of Jennings and quite possibly Urlacher could prove to the Bears' favor. The only real area of concern with the Bears right now are Forte (let's face it he really hasn't been a major factor this year) and Conte. I am one that avoids looking too far into the future and don't want to assume that a win is guranteed in Detroit either. So, should the Bears be able to win in Detroit...I like how things are shaping up. At this point I wouldn't be surprised (based on what you wrote) if the Bears at least make it to the NFC Championship.
  2. LOVE IT!!! Despite all the boos!! And for the record, I look forward to seeing more of this on Sunday with Peppers upping his sack total in the process. (Props to "Adam") - Disclaimer, I know Ford Field has artificial turf...but whatever.
  3. Considering (Peppers) he has 11 1/2 sacks on the year (better than 4 of the 6 previous times he was chosen to the Pro Bowl) and he's 32, I'd say it makes it sense. With Briggs its almost an "assumed" invite as his stats show he is in decline and he's been named to the previous 7 Pro Bowls. In fact his total tackles for this year to date (69) are the second lowest to only his rookie year in 2003 when he got 65. His INT rate is up to his highest with 2 only being surpassed in '08 with 3. Briggs is like the John Stockton of the Bears. Better in the support role than as the highlight. He thrives more when Urlacher is playing. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BrigLa99.htm
  4. I thought you were done with this booing thing last week.
  5. Well played sir. Nicely put. I'm in.
  6. Add one more! Nice work Peanut.
  7. And the D set a new team record in scored TDs. Held since 1924(?).
  8. Agreed. I have asked numerous times this season why they don't do more "hurry up". They do it well when they do.
  9. If you would try to rise above patronizing you would realize that I don't want the team to fail. At any cost. If you would actually read some of the other posts you'll see some here that would hope for a loss not only for Lovie and crew to be gone but get a better draft pick. I DO consider myself a fan, through thick or thin. I want the team to win now, next week and if they continue...then too. I don't give two craps about what happens after that right now.
  10. So as fans we "hope" for them to lose? Just to make that transition? Sickening.
  11. And funny that you should say that. As I was posting that I was just thinking how "sick" I'm getting of some of you actually hoping for the team to fail. Just to get rid of Lovie. I don't know how you can consider yourself a fan with that way of thinking. THAT, to me, is pathetic.
  12. YOU can only hope. Keep the bad vibes coming.
  13. So you've "pulled the plug" on the season. There are some here who still hope. Sorry that you are so fair weather.
  14. Capers failed not once but twice as an HC. Different than Carroll* and Belichick. *I would caution to compare Carroll and Belichick in same sentence. And speaking on "coming from winning organizations" and sticking with the Bellichick pedigree. How are Romeo Crennel, Josh Daniels and Charlie Weis doing these days?
  15. You call yourself a fan with this sort of talk? Sad.
  16. No. Look at Capers in Carolina and Houston. Greene is a punk POS. And they both stink of GB.
  17. I'd like to see what they were going to do with Gurode. I'm intrigued by his signing. *edit* never mind, found out he was waived at beginning of month, oh well
  18. Simply put, I'd have a hard time sticking with Lovie for .500 or less this season. ANYTHING above that would need to be considered. Example: if the team comes out flat for the final two games of the regular season (regardless of wins or not) I would be hard pressed to support Lovie. If they go in as barn burners and excel these last two games (and make the playoffs) I would hard pressed NOT to keep him.
  19. I have ranted a few times about his lack of maturity. One time in his causing the team to have to use a timeout to get his shoe on and the another time when he lost his shoe during a game because, I'm sure, he didn't tie his shoe. In fact it eventually caused another timeout as Cutler had to tie his shoe for him and Cutler didn't have enough time to get the play together. So two times for a damn shoe issue? My 8 year old kid has more sense than that. Give him velcro shoes for pete's sake!
  20. Alaskan Grizzly

    GoodBye

I would be curious to see where the Bears offense ranked during its existence. But would be satisfied just to see how they stack up since '85. I did notice they have had 11 (not counting this year) winning seasons since then. That in and of itself is telling.
  21. Even though I'm still one of the last Lovie supporters, I can see the writing on the wall. As much as I would like for Lovie to turn it around and go one more year, I don't think it will happen. My thought on the matter is how about someone like Tom Moore? Currently of Tennessee Titans formerly of Indy Colts noteriety? He's an OC and has "been there, done that".
  22. Thank you and couldn't agree more. Well said.
  23. So are we still doing the "back and forth" or will this be it? Simply put, are you on the team? Unless you're playing for the 2012 Bears, you are an outsider. His frustration is equally postioned on how he feels at the moment and how he feels from his time in Chicago. Is his commentary pragmatic or simply emotional? Probably the latter. *Edit* The original point was of this whole post and how I see it as an overreaction on your part. Because he said this, you would just as soon write "Goodbye Brian" because he said it. And why I suggest it is "sad or pathetic" is because you might actually mean that. I'm not that dismissive of him as a player and what he's produced for us, the fans.
