Been seeing talk of people wanting the Bears to sign current FA OG Dalton Risner. Previously a 4 year starter with Denver. And one year teammate with Whitehair while both at Kansas State. That season Risner played Center and Whitehair at Tackle. Yeah that was my takeaway too. I was hoping that Walker would be more of a Fields like player and be the primary backup, but after Bagent’s performance this last week it would appear he’s making the case. And oddly enough he seems more a pure pocket passer than Justin does . But again I have to limit my expectations due to Bagent playing against 2nd and 3rd stringer defenses. Maybe he gets more time this coming weekend to get more “tape” but for now he’s making a compelling case to at least be on the 53-man .

Much chatter confirming same on Xitter. Some speculate Jenkins could be out for up to 6 weeks. In comes Leatherwood to prove himself and I suspect we’ll see some of recent waiver acquisition Logan Stenberg. If after this next preseason game (or before) the Bears make another move for IOL then there’s still some decisions being made. Looking forward to how Tyson Bagent pans out. Maybe tonight he solidifies a spot as a back up or at least on the PS?

The stories I was able to find on Jackson was repeatedly that he was “lighting it up” during practice . And that he had a pick six against QB Richardson before he was shook up.

Another intriguing waiver pickup.

Interesting to see for how “broken” the oline was last year, they only swapped out two players. A former first rounder (Rieff) for a current first rounder and Mustipher for Davis. Who for me is still a question mark. You could make the case neither Ebner nor Gipson making the team. Gipson could potentially be a trading chip if he keeps producing in the pre-season.

Bears used their primary waiver spot (again) and grabbed Logan Stenberg (OG from the Lions) to help bolster the interior oline. Here’s some info with that RAS stuff you guys refer to.

My takeaways from this report: - Stevenson doesn’t have an issue standing up to veteran players. Hoping that doesn’t add up to Javon Wims style lack of discipline but rather confidence building. - the interior line seems to be a mess. So far I’m not keen on Davis. Leatherwood and Jenkins are cream puffy and I’m glad Patrick isn’t the starter anywhere.

I read somewhere Allen was let go on an ‘injury waiver’. ??‍♂️. You’re right that all we’re seeing here are true highlight films but seems pretty good at blocking at the point of attack and occasionally good at getting behind the defense for big gains. Maybe there’s something to the Marcedes Lewis protege(?). He could either be this years Sanborn or previous years’ Kellen Davis or Adam Shaheen.

Something I didn’t know (or forgot) was that the Bears maintain the #1 waiver priority through week 3. Good to know.

Compared to Witten and Gonzalez with regards to longevity, both of which were able to contribute late in their careers. But man I swear Lewis started playing when I was in HS. And that was decades ago. ?

Funny, I was just reading the article below when I saw the next article about the Ngokue signing. Interesting to see not only he’s the top DE FA (according to the source) he’s one of 5 in the top 20 overall FAs. Explains more why Poles was able to wait it out. And it looks like a pattern has been set with Poles signing FAs of need late in the off-season with Rieff and Schofield last year to address the oline and Yannick today . Or so according to Shiftys prediction some weeks ago.
