My guess is the School of Mines has a better defense than does LV? I know they have a better coach.
  2. Nothing says we couldn’t have both Fields and Bagent next year? Maybe a little Brees/Hill type combination? That is provided Bagent proves he’s able to play at the NFL? ?
  3. Not unless you’re Patrick Mahomes. And I think the poster explained the “bad reads” as a lowest possible issue if he has a hard time with it in the NFL (which right now is an unknown). It’s apparent he’s vulnerable to them after last week. ??‍♂️ Lastly, don’t suppose you saw this rumor regarding his (Williams’) want as part owner for whatever team he’s drafted to? Thought it odd.
  4. Yup. It’s hard if not impossible for any QB to thrive with that, let alone generational talent. Just ask Andrew Luck.
  5. Saw the below post on Twitter and it sorta encapsulates what I think about the Justin vs Caleb debate. I recently saw a highlight film of Williams and it reminds me a lot of Justin’s highlight reels at Ohio State. In fact most of the pass plays were of him being “delayed” in his reads and having to scramble to get the play off. And in the back of my mind I can’t help repeat the question, ‘who was/are their competition at the collegiate level?’ We saw how Williams did recently against a team that was ranked. How sure are we that Williams’ “generational” talent will translate to the NFL?
  6. Word. I was watching a video analysis of last Sunday (I'll try and find them and share), one of Fields and one of Bagent, and in both of them you can clearly see how bad the oline was, esp along the left side. There were two times within close proximity (can't remember if it was when Fields was on the field or Bagent) that Borom was sitting on the ground. And another where Jenkins completely whiffed. Yes there were highlights of Justin missing some reads but there were just as much (if not more) illustrations of bad oline play. I'd say D- on oline play and F on play-calling...but that's just me.
  7. Especially curious given the same management (and theoretically talent evaluators) were the ones that picked Trey Lance and Brock Purdy within a year from each other. Similar to when Washington drafted RGIII and Kirk Cousins the same year. Again illustrates just how much the "experts" really don't know.
  8. The date of the attached article (03 Oct) stated Mahomes was second only to Jackson and Daniel Jones with his 154. Either Jackson and Jones had exactly the same stats at the time or Forbes is REALLY bad at doing NFL articles. Agreed. Although after yesterday he really looked lost and lethargic. When I saw someone point out the possible concussion during the game, it made some sense.
  9. This is a good no-nonsense review of Bagent’s plays. One observer pointed out when he threw it was to his first read, minus one. https://x.com/imbearingdown/status/1713946333457834443?s=46&t=KrpJmhSTc4DI1sACtjisOQ
  10. Uhm…?. Phil Snow is the new ‘Defensive Strategist’ (or whatever Eberflus called it).
  11. Being a Fields sympathizer, he did what he had to win. The Broncos game was more a defensive letdown (aka coaching issue) and due to their having third stringers playing in key positions. They gave up a 21 point lead. Washington has one of the top (if not THE top) front four linemen in all of defense. He also had 2 turnovers, one of which resulted in a score. Let's see how he does against LV (or any other opponent after that) when they have some tape on how Bagent vs Fields runs the offense. One thing from the outset we know about him is he doesn't have the elusiveness Fields does and a bit of a noodle arm in comparison.
  12. Hmm… ok. Mahomes currently leads QB in total rushing yards and this article even notes his 4.8 speed. And some would say Montana was a true pocket passer, Young not so much. But maybe tomato, tomahto. ??‍♂️ https://www.forbes.com/sites/jefffedotin/2023/10/03/the-kansas-city-chiefs-patrick-mahomes-is-running-more-than-ever/amp/
  13. Wasn’t Steve Young considered one of the first QBs to run a lot? And I’d think Mahomes is considered mobile. ??‍♂️
  14. I’m still ready to throw in the towel yet. For me it’s hard to go from how the offense looked for the first two games then followed up with the two game performance Justin showed us against Denver and Washington. To me yesterday was more about a potential concussion that may have slowed his reflexes . A few here observed even in the designed run plays he looked sluggish. This kid was setting franchise and NFL records even this year yet somehow we’re convinced we need to throw out the baby with the bath water . There’s no doubt Justin’s struggled at certain times but so has the oline (missing starters) and defense (playing with third stringers). And then there’s the ever present “three WR sceens in a row” Getsy. I’m not on board with Williams being the savior either. He showed what he’s like playing against ranked teams this last weekend.
  15. If in fact dislocated, he’s probably out 4-6 weeks.
  16. Thank you sir. Justin appears to be doing better than even I thought. You know Vick (part 2) seemed like a better player than the original version. Maybe the maturity aspect? He sure could sling it.
  17. And from what it appears, Flores’ defense is a blitz happy bunch. They’re lower tier on the pass coverage and about average on stopping the run. Thing is they don’t have the same horses that Washington does along the front. Should be interesting.
  18. You have a formula readily available to show how Vick might compare here? If not I’ll do the slow math. I’m curious s because I see a lot of Vick when I see Fields play. He’s almost a McNabb / Vick hybrid prototype it would seem .
  19. I suspect Minny will be focusing a lot on DJ this game (can’t imagine why) and perhaps draw extra coverage his way. Because of that I feel Mooney will have a good stats game. He’s been off just a tick these last few games. He’s due.
  20. I suspect they’ll be a handful more run-design plays for Justin this week. If Foreman is able to get going I’d agree with AZ that more play action and screens will be in order.
  21. All I can say is “oof”. Anybody here able to fill in as an RB this weekend?
