  1. IMHO I think we will be fine with what we have also. Hester,Bennett,Knox,Rideau, JI, Davis and Kinder and the other Devin. So I see someone getting gut out of the group maybe Davis
  2. Bears | In holding pattern on adding veteran WR Comment (0) Sun, 10 May 2009 16:37:38 -0700 Vaughn McClure, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said the team could look to add a veteran wide receiver, but added they would be comfortable heading into the season with their current group of receivers. Angelo said, "A veteran receiver is something we could do. We've looked at just about everybody. But right now we're in a holding pattern. If we go to camp and go into the season with the hand we dealt ourselves, we're very comfortable with that as well." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bears | Have not discussed Toomer Comment (0) Sun, 10 May 2009 16:37:25 -0700 Vaughn McClure, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said the team has not talked about free-agent WR Amani Toomer (Giants).

  4. Gaines update The tight end has a Monday morning flight to Chicago to meet with the Bears' staff May 8, 2009, 12:33 AM By: Jeff Dickerson Updating our previous entry, both the Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune now report that Michael Gaines will indeed visit the Bears on Monday. Vaughn McClure of the Tribune notes that Gaines has a 6 a.m. flight out of Detroit, and that the tight end is leaning toward the Bears over the Jets. Gaines tells McClure that he was initially caught off guard when first contacted by Lovie Smith last Thursday. "I'm not going to lie, I was kind of shocked because of who I am,'' Gaines told the Tribune. "I'm a blocking tight end, and you all don't have tight end-issues in Chicago. You have [Greg] Olsen. You have [Desmond] Clark. You have a good corps of tight ends there. So to get the call, I was very surprised." It sounds like the Bears view Gaines as a potential contributor at multiple positions on offense. "Lovie sold me on the fact that he didn't see me as just a tight end, but as a fullback, too," said Gaines to McClure. "When I was with the Carolina Panthers, they moved me around. I was a fullback. I was on the line. They move me around so much and I blocked for so many different areas
  5. Bears | Pace tried to get Holt to sign Comment (0) Sat, 09 May 2009 06:30:32 -0700 Vaughn McClure, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears OT Orlando Pace said he tried until the last minute to get Jacksonville Jaguars WR Torry Holt to sign with the team while he was a free agent. "We were working on that for a while," Pace said of Holt. "But I think it's a good fit for him in Jacksonville. He wanted to be in warm weather." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bears | Interested in Toomer? Comment (0) Sat, 09 May 2009 05:53:49 -0700 Vaughn McClure, of the Chicago Tribune, reports the Chicago Bears placed a phone call to free-agent WR Amani Toomer (Giants), according to Steve Wyche, of the NFL Network. However, according to a source, the Bears did not place the call to Toomer. The Bears might be intrigued, but they're not jumping at the opportunity. Bears | Gaines leaning toward joining Chicago Comment (0) Fri, 08 May 2009 16:45:54 -0700 Vaughn McClure, of The Chicago Tribune, reports free-agent TE Michael Gaines (Lions) has narrowed down his options for a new home to the Chicago Bears and New York Jets. He said he is leaning toward joining the Bears.
  6. IMHO I would not say that their QB is unproven. Stadford will be playing behind Culpepper at the start of the year.......that could change but Pepper was a pro Bowl QB at one time. And they have added a few weapons on offense too
  7. Patriots | McGowan agrees to terms Comment (0) Tue, 05 May 2009 07:40:21 -0700 John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the New England Patriots have agreed to terms with free-agent FS Brandon McGowan (Bears) on a two-year contract, according to a source. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
  8. Simeon Rice Still Wants To Play Football Posted by Mike Florio on May 5, 2009, 5:52 a.m. Former NFL defensive end Simeon Rice still wants to be something other than a former NFL defensive end. After being out of the game for an entire season, Rice still wants to play. In a recent interview with WQYK radio in Tampa, Rice asserts that he can still get it done. “Right now, if I was to put on a helmet, I’m automatically in the top five in this league at that spot,” Rice said. “I want to say I’m the number one guy, I’m the king, baby. But I’m not gonna say that because that’s always an earned spot. So I’m humble enough to say, ‘You know what? I gotta go back and do my work.’” Rice said that he called new Bucs coach Raheem Morris about rejoining the team. Rice said that other teams, including the Bears are interested. He also said that he’s not doing it for money. “My motivation is going out there on top,” Rice said. “Going out there claiming my crown back and saying ‘OK, I reign supreme.’” Rice said that his play diminished only because he was injured. “I was a different person,” he said. “I was running around with one arm on the field.” He only wants a workout, not to be signed. And he thinks something could happen fairly soon. But he said that it won’t be with the Bucs. And it won’t be with a league other than the NFL. “I’m desperate,” he said. “But I ain’t that desperate.”
  9. IMHO I would rether have the 6'0 202, 4.4 speed, good soft hands of Kinder that what Davis brings to the table. But like someone said what happened to Davis, I think it was Orton because he did well with Grossman throwing him the ball.
  10. IMHO I thinkg if it were up to me I would put Iglesias/Kinder on one side and Hester/Rideau in the other. With Bennett/Davis/Knox in the slot. But with this we might cut Davis and keep the other six. That give us speed Hester/knox/Iglesias and move the chains guys with Kinder/Rideau/Bennett. Not to mentio Olsen,Clark and Forte in the mix too
  11. iIMHO THIS GUY CAN PLAY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL LIKE THAT GUY WE HAD A FEW YEARS AGO FRIEDMAN WHO PLAYED GUARD AND DT IN THE SMAE GAME. BUT AT 6'2 300LBS HE WOULD MAKE A GOOD FBOR BLOCKING TE IN OUR RUN FIRST SYSTEM. SORRY MY SHIFT KEY IS STUCK.
  12. The only problem I see is that with all the players makingt the HOF and getting their numbers retired...in the future what numbers are you going to use? Like the Bears are leading the NFL with numbers retired, 3,5,7,28,34,40,41,42,50,51,56.66,77....did I miss any?
  13. Yes it was but we signed Freeman that should be able to take that spot.
  14. Redskins Special-Teams Standout Rejects Contract Offer Posted by Aaron Wilson on April 30, 2009, 12:11 p.m. Washington Redskins reserve linebacker and special-teams ace Khary Campbell has declined the team’s contract offer of a veteran minimum salary and is holding talks with other NFL teams, according to David Elfin of the Washington Times. Per the report, Campbell, who led the Redskins in special-teams tackles over the past three seasons, has made up his mind that he’s not going to accept the offer and will be moving on. “That wasn’t something I was going to accept,” Campbell told the Times. “And they drafted two linebackers. They did what they had to do, and I’m going to do what I have to do.” Campbell, 30, is a former Bowling Green player who had a previous stint with the New York Jets. He registered 13 tackles last season and a career-high 34 in 200 for the Redskins, appearing in 30 out of the past 32 regular-season games.
  15. Now that we have the next coming of Sid luckman in Jay Cutler who is going to make the roster out of our WR and be the man? Who will step up and who do you think we will keep? We have 10 WR on the roster. Devin Aromashoud 6'2 201 ?????? Earl Bennett 6'0 203 John Broussard 6'1 176 cut Rashied Davis 5'9 187 ????? Devin Hester 5'11 190 Juaqin Iglesias 6'0 210 Derek Kinder 6'1 210 Johnny Knox 5'11 185 Eric Peterman 6'1 200 PS Brandon Rideau 6'3 198 ??????
  16. Why would you resign Lloyd when you just signed J. Knox the burner?LOL
  17. Bears | Have talked to Campbell's representatives Comment (0) Thu, 30 Apr 2009 13:44:53 -0700 Vaughn McClure, of the Chicago Tribune, reports the Chicago Bears have had discussions with the representatives for unrestricted free-agent LB Khary Campbell (Redskins), according to a league source. It is not known how serious the talks have been.
  18. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bears | Graham could play safety Comment (0) Thu, 30 Apr 2009 10:16:50 -0700 Jeff Dickerson, of ESPN.com, reports Chicago Bears CB Corey Graham could be moved to free safety if CB Nathan Vasher returns to his old form.

    Rookie Camp

The 25 tryout players are North Carolina cornerback James Arnold, Northwestern quarterback C.J. Bacher, Indiana defensive tackle Greg Brown, Texas Tech safety Daniel Charbonnet, Virginia wide receiver Maurice Covington, Virginia safety Byron Glaspy, Arizona cornerback Marquis Hundley, Auburn running back Brad Lester, Southern Illinois guard Aaron Lockwood, Stanford linebacker Pat Maynor, Fresno State tight end Adam McDowell, Ball State punter Chris Miller, Missouri quarterback Chase Patton, Wisconsin long-snapper Dave Peck, Mississippi State cornerback Derek Pegues, Miami (Fla.) safety Anthony Reddick, Miami (Ohio) punter Jake Richardson, Montana State guard Lou Saucedo, Purdue tackle Sean Sester, Ohio State fullback Brandon Smith, Vanderbilt wide receiver George Smith, Rutgers defensive end Peter Tverdov, Florida State quarterback Drew Weatherford, Missouri kicker Jeff Wolfert and Louisiana-Monroe tight end Kenneth Zacharie.
  20. Big and fast: Louis is also a versatile and athletic young prospect. The 6-2, 303-pounder played tight end his first two seasons at San Diego State before being moved to right guard in 2007 and right tackle in 2008. In San Diego for the NFL owners meetings, Angelo attended a workout the Bears had set up with Louis. “He ran a 4.75 at around 300 pounds,” Angelo said. “I’ve never seen a guy that big since (former NFL offensive lineman) Randall McDaniel run that fast, and when he ran that fast, he was about 275 pounds. “[Louis] has some special traits. We even threw passes out of the fullback position just to give him a look there. He’s a pretty good athlete, so we said with that versatility in the seventh round, why not?”
  21. Jets talking to Plaxico. What if we still could get Plaxico Buress to sign with us would we be a better team? IMHO we just need a big body type with the size of Plax for Cutler to throw two.We have a lot of 6 ft guys who can't be used in the red zone with the fade routes.Olsen is the main option. We also have the 6'7 TE Davis but we never use him or the 6'4 Ridaeu. With what we drafted on the defensive side of the ball we should be a better team on D so it will give us more chances to score. With the addition of Plax it gives us bigger targets and creates mismatches all over the field
