    Yup!

The best line of the article went something like "they need to decide if they want an upgrade Trubisky or make his supporting cast better." I think this summarizes what NYC and AZ stated above. My opinion on that is to upgrade the supporting cast. If Montgomery runs for 1200 yards, we win 11-12 games. It's that simple. It frees up play action and chews up the clock so the D can rest. Mediocre QB's win this way.

I love the first 5. Don't like the last five. Fuller can't tackle, so he's not a box player. I would've doubled down on edge rushers and DB's before the extra OL.

    That guy!
  6. I'm so glad you didn't kiss Watson's ass for that miracle play he had. He was literally on his way to the ground when the other defender hit him to stand him back up. Why don't people wrap anymore. Two big hits and no wrap on that play and Watson is Michael Jordan. Rant over.

I took Reagor because he is that 4.3 guy we desperately need. I get it though.

I played the draft game for the first time. Here's how it went.
  9. I like this move, but like trading future picks this can be harmful later down the road.
  10. Jokes aside, I did not want Ebron. He's productive at times and at other times has very hurtful drops. I'll take sure hands and trust over whatever upside he has.
  11. This was coming regardless of any cap issues. I'm just glad it got done now so it can take from this year whatever it can.

    He's a bad fatty!
  13. Lol, unfortunately...
  14. Stone hands with talent...
  15. I watched the presser again today and it really looked like Nagy and page we were on the same page. They were both very non committal, except for their support of Mitch.
  16. Did anyone hear Dave Gettleman speak on Trubisky today on ESPN? It was pretty damning. He essentially said that the book on Trubisky is out, saying he can't throw deep to his left. They game planned him knowing his deficiencies. He said, at this point, a vet has to come in and compete and in no way he would have publicly endorsed Trubisky the way Pace did. Nagy risks losing the team if Trubisky is handed the job. This is the first active GM gong on record with this opinion.
  17. Hold on for a second. I rarely disagree with you, but damn. Patterson was only there for one year and they already had Gronk. Saying BB failed to convert him is a monster stretch. Considering that they have never developed a rookie receiver to contribute in their first year tells all you need to know about BB on that regard. I see nothing to suggest that Patterson can't play 20+ snaps a game at the TE and H position.
  18. There were actually some things in this game I loved. Nagy played to win with his starters. In doing so, he sends a clear message or two. One: as bad as you sucked this year, you are going to grind this one out and show me some heart. Two: who wants to be on this damn team next year? I also loved the way our OL pushed Monty into the end zone. It's the first time I've seen this effort all year. As bad as the OL has played all year, it lets them know they can get it done with a little heart. Trubisky had the have in his hands and made a huge 4th down play.(Build that confidence) Lastly, we end the season on a game winning FG. Ugly, ugly game with some things to build on.

Stay the course, but bring in a vet.
  20. OL and pass rush are definitely the top two priorities. After that, it's speed WR and DB. TE is position of need, but not as high as the others. Holtz, Horsted, Burton and a draft pick should satisfy the TE position. I still think Patterson should get a look at it, as he is physical and a nasty matchup.
  21. Agreed on strength inside. My hope is to get a big nasty in the second round. I want to see tape on second level effort. That's something our guys are not getting done.
  22. Fire Helfrich and promote Childress to OC. Childress can bring a much needed level head to the game plan. We know Nagy is ultimately the OC, but Childress can be the balance as Helfrich is likely the opposite. Fire Pagano. The discipline was not there. Pagano has always been known as a players coach and it shows in our lack of discipline. He's been known to be a ballsy play caller and it really looked like he neutered our defense. Dream scenario for replacement is Rivera. Unfortunately, he'll be an HC again, but maybe we talk him into a couple of years at a chance of a Superbowl. Cut Long, Gabriel, Shaheen and Prince. Let Ha Ha and Trevathon walk. Extend Patterson and Robinson as they were our best playmakers this year. Trade Leno to Washington for Trent Williams. Will have to eat some of Leno's contract but who really cares when you get this massive upgrade. Rehab or cut Burton. I wouldn't extend him one week with all the money he's already stolen from us. Also, Patterson is as big and physical as any of our TE's and waaaay more athletic. Why is he not getting time at that position? He would be winning matchups all over the field. Draft a mauler of an OG, an athletic TE, a pass rush specialist, a burner of a WR, a DL and a couple of DB's. Sign Mariotta and cut Chase Daniels.
  23. I don't know if I want to punch him or shake his hand...
  24. I would love to add Trent Williams somehow. He's a beast. We could easily add a young mauler at OG in the second round. Best case scenario is we trade Leno for Williams and eat some of Leno's money. New blood will get them all in the weight room!

Wholesale changes like that are rarely fruitful. It takes time to build an OL. My thoughts are to meet with them at seasons end and tell them to put there man pants on. Maybe say goodbye to someone to send a message or let them know they'll be cut at the last possible moment so they can't get a good contract elsewhere. Light a fire. Draft someone highly and bring in a hard core vet. I see two, there at the most.
