That's not a crap ton of weaknesses, it's a shit ton. Coming from a smaller program means they didn't have the resources to coach him up. That's a good sign that he's still very in the rough. My expectations are very low for this season, with a very high ceiling dependent on his work ethic. Learning to play low with leverage is hardest trench skill in football, so he will have to overcome his greatest weakness to succeed. He's showing a great attitude for starters and that a great start.

It's the direct distinction of the modern athlete. Feeling privileged vs entitled. As a coach, I see the humbling effect at every age group. In one season, my son went from wanting to be a D 1 athlete as a pitcher and WR. He has the size and talent for both, but does not want to work for it. Other kids are stars in HS and go to juco for a chance. Then there's my wife's nephew and fellow Bears fan and Chicago kid. 6'5 295 and wait for it, 15 years old!

They are unearthing comments from his college HC. Unfortunately, he had work ethic issues the coach had to address publicly. The article was mainly about Jenkins talent being elite, but why throw the jab? Due diligence is very easy in this digital age.

Maybe it's a situation where Jenkins said, "I should be starting. Trade me." So the team can come back and say, "the best offer was a sixth rounder. We like you more than anyone else, so get to work."

His talent says he should be starting this year. So, he only gets this camp for me. With his injury and surgery last year, he should have done all of the rehab and new in the best shape of his life. It was already mentioned that they asked him to cut weight and his response was that he would have to cut down on drinking. And don't forget that we traded up for him as well. Where there is smoke there is fire and when there is silence there is usually a secret.
  6. I think he's going to get traded, if healthy.
  7. I am all in on cutting Eddie Jackson to make yet another example. There are hungry dudes out there that want a fraction of the money he's making. His teammates are probably, quietly, sick of his BS play anyway.
  8. Exactly my sentiment. If we win six games and see a marked improvement, I will hard to contain in the off-season talking about what could be. Just not yet.
  9. No, no and no. Joe Burrow is special for one and their top 3 receivers are better than Mooney. As bad as their OL was, ours is worse. Lastly, unless the defense is special, it's a wash. Please don't buy the Kool-Aid on this team. Not this year.
  10. My official prediction is 6.
  11. So true. The story out of NE is that he never made the jump. Let's see.
  12. What an off season! I don't think we've ever witnessed a year of such great turnover. We were one of the oldest teams in the NFL last year and are now one of the youngest. Going into the off season, we identified OL, DB and WR as the weakest units and that is where the greatest attention was given. Great job guys! I'm going to rank each unit of the team 1-32 and am interested to see what y'all think as well. DB - 16 LB - 18 DL - 22 OL - 31 RB - 3 WR - 24 TE - 8 QB - 18 What I look for in this roster is to make tremendous strides in growth. They must. There is talent all over the board, but there's no film on a lot of them. I'm predicting 6 wins with a huge wish for being an idiot.
  13. He's probably looking at Darius Leonard money. 19 mil per season
  14. This week was huge for Poles. Getting Brisker in without BS, with Quinn and Smith reporting are 100% victories. Getting the two veteran linemen to provide depth and experience is simply icing on the cake. They not studs by any stretch, but solid is OK at this point.
  15. The Bears fluff game has always been the strongest. That being said, of course I loved it.
  16. This is an area, quite opposite of Brisker. Poles would be a hero if he can make Roquan happy without breaking the bank.
  17. Meh. He's a good depth piece, but nothing above average. He plays too high.
  18. Especially now. In a brand new administration, you never want the tail wagging the dog.
  19. Poles better not cave to an unproven rookie. My guess is that he tells Brisker that he doesn't have enough dick to get into the measuring contest.

    Trade Quinn?

That's a good thought. I'm just thinking we'll have growing pains.

    Trade Quinn?

He will. I also would bet that Monty will be a deadline trade to a contender needing a solid back. This rebuild is truly a three year plan.

    Trade Quinn?

I just read an article suggesting the Bears trade Quinn to KC. The Chiefs have 12 picks in next year's draft and are weak at RDE. Chris Jones would greatly benefit from better end play. Poles obviously has a relationship with with their GM to help matters. I've been very vocal about trading ALL assets that won't be in their when the team starts contending. Lastly, we know Quinn doesn't want to be part of a rebuild. What better way to show this new team that you are willing to help a veteran pursue his future?
