TalkBears Community Mock Draft 2015
I'm trying not to pick what I want. Instead, I'm trying to pick based on BPA...which is what most think the Bears will/should do. I'm also considering the multitude of OLBs on this team - I just don't think the Bears will pick one unless it's a crazy value.

TalkBears Community Mock Draft 2015
The late second round run on CBs was unfortunate because I felt the CB depth would be perfect for early third round. In the end, however, everything worked out perfectly for the Bears. In the third round, the Bears select Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon. Obviously his health can't be known on this board, but if the Bears did due diligence, IEO would be a huge steal at this point. Third round pick used on a first round talent CB. Several other CBs with lesser ability going before this point makes it even better - makes it feel like the Bears are getting over on other teams. Huge upside with this pick. Kikaha was considered as a rush OLB, but eventually passed on.

TalkBears Community Mock Draft 2015
The Titans select, Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA. Waiting until the third round paid off for the Titans, and they likely have their QB of the future.

Forte skips workout
Honestly? I LOVE when guys take themselves out as long as they are doing it for the benefit of the team. I don't give a damn who you are, if you are completely gassed, you are not going to be good at your physical job. This is especially true for sports where there is a high cardiovascular requirement. If Forte just busted his ass for three or four plays, then absolutely he should come out and take a breather. A 100% Carey is definitely better than a gassed Forte. And if you've built up your roster appropriately, you can take advantage of superior depth to exploit this concept.

Jameis Winston sued for sexual assault
If he falls to seven, you trade. Someone would go for him there, and you could get a king's ransom for that position.

Terra's Two-Weeks Out Mock
If that happens, then that would be THREE NT's going in the first round: Danny Shelton, Malcolm Brown, and Eddie Goldman. I don't see that happening. But let's say it did. That would mean Jordan Phillips is very likely there in the 2nd, and he'd be a great steal. The way I see it, either Goldman or Phillips is there in the second, and either would be a great value pick at that point.

Safeties
IDK. It's one of the reasons I don't put as much stock in the measurable aspect of things. When I'm on the field I rarely remember players unless they are exemplary. Naturally, those guys catch my eye because they do something, or multiple things, that are just outstanding. For instance, I officiated a game during TJ Yeldon's Junior or Senior year where I knew, right away, he was going to the pros. That dude is a stud. If not for Forte and the various holes on our defense, I would be really happy with him on the Bears. Same goes for Kwon Alexander out of LSU. I think that dude is going to be a productive pro for several years. He may never become an all-pro, but I think he'll be a good player, a glue guy that holds defenses together. Jaquiski Tartt? Not so much.

Safeties
I'm a solid NO on Jacquiski Tartt. I have officiated while he was on the field, and for a player at that level, I would have expected him to stand out. I never noticed him on the field. In fact, I recall the offense doing fairly well in the passing game.

Is it possible for us to all agree
Based on this game alone, I'd say it's because he is a bad blocker, doesn't get downhill fast, has nearly no explosion at the point of attack, gets tackled way too easy, has questionable ball security, and played against inferior competition. And that's just for starters.

What's funny is, we still wouldn't agree. If the Bears take WR, I want Cooper instead of White. I don't think White is going to be as good as people think, and I think Cooper is one of the best route running WRs I've seen in a while. He was wide the F open far too often against top-level talent for it to be a fluke. Some guys just have that ability, and he's one of them. He compliments Alshon perfectly, where as I think White and Alshon are a bit alike. AJ - 6'4", 215lb, 4.38-4.47 forty, ?? reps, 33 arm, 10 1/4 hands, vert. 36.5, broad 10'2" KW - 6'3", 215lb, 4.35 forty, 23 reps, 32 5/8 arms, 9 1/4 hands, vert. 36.5, broad 10'3" Add to that the atrocious Big 12 defense, and I think it says that he's a bit overrated. Pretty much every team he dominated last year gave up 25 points or more a game. Some much more. The only game I was really impressed with was the game against Alabama, a team that gave up just over 2 TDs per game the entire year. Cooper > White if I'm drafting.

Me too, but I eliminated him because the dawhizz request for OL help this year that was in response to him being in a draft.

Is it possible for us to all agree
That's essentially what I did. It is a hard enough exercise if everyone simply replies with comments or suggestions for change. But when it's just a mock draft submission contest, it doesn't work. I think we're close, but the problem with so many hands in the cookie jar is that so many have severe dislikes for specific players (based on collegiate allegiance?).

Is it possible for us to all agree
It's not the opinion, it's the inclusion of other mocks and the exclusion of other data that started the idea.

Is it possible for us to all agree
I tried to stay away from OT in the first, since that was a negative to many in previous threads. Having said that, what are the objections with this draft? 2015 MOCK DRAFT 4.0 1.20- Malcom Brown, DT, Texas 2.39- Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State 2.52- Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke 3-David Cobb, RB, Minnesota 4-Kurtis Drummond, FS, Mich. St. 5-Za'Darius Smith, OLB, Kentucky 6-Cody Fajardo, QB, Nevada Is this a draft everyone could live with? Who has specific objections?
-
Is it possible for us to all agree
He said it in the original mock that I made - different thread - which precipitated this entire process. It's too difficult for everyone to keep track of all other mocks, and reply to the other mocks, and the objections, that's why I'm trying to just adjust the single mock that I am doing to get to an agreed upon mock by all. One that everyone can tolerate that isn't quite their own. Instead of a new mock, suggest a change to the one proposed. I changed it last time based on your proposals. That's what I'm talking about with muddying the waters. Following a single draft and modifying that one makes this an exercise. Everyone submitting their version makes it pointless because we couldn't possible adjust everyone's at the same time. As far as QB goes, many on this board have talked about A. Disliking Cutler, B. Always trying to find a QB prospect, and C. Drafting a QB prospect each year until one is successful.
-
Is it possible for us to all agree
You're also muddying the waters if you don't follow the objections of others. Dawhizz has already stated he wouldn't be in favor of a draft that addressed the 2015 OL with Grassu in the 3rd and Mason in the 5th. Also, no way IN HELL, I'm cool with a draft that has a RB in the 2nd, unless the Bears trade Forte for that extra second. That would be horrible.
-
Is it possible for us to all agree
Dude, c'mon, you're muddying the waters. You give kudos to the draft that takes Donovan Smith in the 3rd, but dumped on the draft that had Grassu in the 3rd and Mason in the 5th?

Forte skips workout
I'd probably trade him for a second if it were offered. And I have my eyeballs on TJ Yeldon with that pick. But that isn't going to happen. No way the Bears get a 2nd for a 3-down, workhorse back who is getting close to reaching his overhaul mileage.
-
Forte skips workout
What pick(s)? I don't think the Bears could get more than a third for him. I'd rather hold onto him if that's the case. He will definitely produce better than a 3rd round pick normally would. Or would you make the new draftee fight for PT with Carey and Quiz?

TalkBears Community Mock Draft 2015
Interesting proposition! That could immediately bolster their defense.

Issues: AZ54 - More WR prioritization, RB depth addressed, Deprioritize QB Dawhizz - More WR prioritization, Must address 2015 Offensive holes [NO-MANNION, JORDAN PHILLIPS, BECKHAM-GREEN] Stinger - More WR prioritization [NO-ARIE KUOANDJIO] bear trap - RB depth addressed (cold weather RB), [NO-LANDON COLLINS, SAMMIE COATES, DUKE JOHNSON] Taking all those things into consideration... 2015 MOCK DRAFT 4.0 1.20- Malcom Brown, DT, Texas 2.39- Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State 2.52- Laken Tomlinson, OG, Duke 3-David Cobb, RB, Minnesota 4-Kurtis Drummond, FS, Mich. St. 5-Za'Darius Smith, OLB, Kentucky 6-Cody Fajardo, QB, Nevada

That doesn't address already established issues with people hating Shaq Thompson, and it also fails the "help the OL this year" clause.
-
Is it possible for us to all agree
That doesn't even address one of your main issues!!! You wanted OL help THIS YEAR.
-
Thought - If Mariota goes to Titans, trade for Mettenberger?
I still think Mettenburger is a very good prospect. The Titans have other issues, and it makes more sense for them to go with Williams.

St. 5-Za'Darius Smith, OLB, Kentucky 6-Cody Fajardo, QB, Nevada I'm not sure there is a draft we can all agree upon, especially because I view prioritization of the RB position to be a very bad, unnecessary move. Ignoring my opinion on that minor matter, however, what are the issues with that draft?
