We can move the ball on offense. And can't stop anything on defense. Going forward however during the bye week: Defense: Briggs said at the beginning of the season that they should keep the same defense because it wasn't broken. My friend it is full broken. The playoffs aren't an impossibility but changes have to be made. Offense: I would keep Cutler out as long as necessary. We have enough weapons to score. It is tough to say he isn't the long term answer when there are not good options out there. But I would definitely draft a quarterback and not over invest in a Cutler contract.

with the adductor muscles the main problem is their insertion on the pubic bone. So every step that he takes is like getting tased in the balls. Any change of direction could aggravate it.

Normally an 0-5 team shouldn't make me nervous. Especially a team that has averaged 4 turnovers a game. But there is a huge difference between an 0-5 Giants team and an 0-5 Jags team. The 0-5 Jags team isn't accustomed to winning and the Giants are. The lack of depth at Dline worries me except that the giants average 56yds/game. Eli's deluded mindset is also helpful:

Peppers: I can't see how this team will pay him 17 million this year. On defense I only watched him and he is slower and not overpowering anyone. Either he agrees to a major pay cut or he is gone. Melton: after watching his injury in slow motion. When his foot planted with that little bit of rotation and then it buckled, it looks an awful like an ACL. Defense/Offense: after scoring early it felt like we were playing not to lose. Overall: I love being 3-0. The only ugly part is that we aren't putting our foot on anyone's throat. It's always hard for me to put myself in the place of a man that made a decision after hours of meetings with his coaches as to their preferences, months of time and overtime from area scouts to create evaluations. Kiper, Mayock and the like rate players which creates the mock drafts which feeds our brains as to what our team may or may not need. I am a doctor and I have always found humor in patients that come in my office and say they "heard on the radio that...". Never mind the years of college, years of study, and years of research. Some guy on the radio is dialed in as to the right direction to take.

That both linemen that the bears have chosen come from very fast pace offensive teams. In face they come from two of the top five scoring teams. So is this a sign that the bears are picking athletes that can keep up with that fast pace?

This could be a great pick. In most games he was the only talent on the offensive side of the ball. I watched him in one particular game where he was doubled for most of the game. And still had some great catches and seemed to be the only one on the team that cared. He did have quite a few tantrums. His coached called him lazy bordering on cowardice. But it's Mike Leach who is a complete ass-hat.

Mayock likes him for the same reason Ziggy Ansah flew up the draft boards. It didn't seem to bother anyone that Ziggy started playing football 3 years ago only after failing at track and being cut by the basketball team twice. And that is BYU basketball. When his dad says he is the best athlete in the family I will take that. I watched most of oregon's games and I (because of his dad) paid attention to Kyle and I was impressed.

I don't hate the pick. Three things that NONE on this board has any clue about is who Tucker wanted, Who Kromer wanted, or who Trestman wanted. We have new systems all around. But with the additions thus far on the line and on defense I have been thinking: 1st Tavon Austin WR 2nd Best corner available My logic is that a Marshall and Jeffery split out and Austin in the slot with Bennett at tight end would give us a group of receivers that would be hard to stop. There are people on this board that will say that weapons are useless with Cutler on his back. I have to have faith that Kromer with the additions the line will improve. The quick catches I saw Austin make are very similar to the ones dropped by Hester last year. Austin gives us threats at every position in the receiving corp. Most of the mock drafts I have seen have only St. Louis as the team in front of us that is likely to take him to replace Amendola. There is also other mock drafts that have them taking Patterson out of Tennessee, giving them a more legit number one reciever.

Let me first say that all my kids save one have an Urlacher jersey, my daughter has a pink one. Point being, we are Urlacher fans. However, lets look ahead: what if we gave Brian a "respectable" deal and his injuries continued or worse, he was able to play and his "loss of a step" started affecting the play of briggs or the safeties that would have to help if he couldn't drop back as well. Any player would be okay for a couple of times but that "family" concept would be out the window when one player's deficiencies affected other players.

I am a doctor and I just reviewed the nfl's requirements for a physical examination and, 15 hours. I will just assume that you are being sarcastic. Also there is a huge difference between a physical examination and a functional examination. The CBA decided upon a minimum requirement. I can't imagine an agent would allow a team to determine a players readiness on anything other than what the CBA allows.

So your saying that you would rather pay 2million more for a guy that is coming off of torn tricep but has had injuries in the last two years to his back, shoulder, knee, and bicep? You would rather have that, than have a guy whose position coach is one of our coordinators who knows him and obviously thinks that high of him?

Urlacher will re-sign for 4 reasons: 1. His body of work albeit awesome, his last season not so much. The term "losing a step" matters on defense. It's the difference between tipping a ball and a completion. It's the difference between filling a hole and not getting there in time only to see the running back get an extra 1 or 2 yards. 2. Sure he can get more money elsewhere but Chicago is a major market and all endorsements he has procured over his career will be gone. What is he going to endorse in minnesota. Dairy farms? 3. Going to minnesota means he is just trying to get more money. Minnesota won't be playing for anything. 4. He is the established leader. Going anywhere else, he will have to start over. I doubt he will get treated as well anywhere else like he will here.

All you have to do is listen to how the defensive players are reacting. Lovie let the players play. He didn't get in their faces. I rarely saw emotion from him. The players were "comfortable" with him. why is it that players feel that they are exempt from the same workplace stresses that the people that buy tickets endure. There isn't a thing wrong with a little fear for your job or fear of a national audience seeing a coach go chernobyl after a bone head play. Lovie got lovie fired. He picked coordinators that he liked. He wasn't a good evaluator.

All my 12 year old son wanted for his birthday was to see the bears so I am driving 10 hours so he can see this game. After the packer's game I apologized to him that I was sorry we are spending so much money to watch a team that plays like crap. He said, "dad, who cares. It's the bears and they will kill the cardinals." Oh the optimism of youth.

What he and many athletes forget is that they are entertainers. They are diversions. They are an investment in discretionary income. The media writes what is entertaining. Every athlete is beholden to the fans who watch, who read what the media writes. If Brian doesn't feel like the media and fans don't matter. Go call Tiki Barber, Donovan McNabb, Terrell Owens, or any other athlete that uses media to plead with teams and fans to give them another chance.

Even before halftime you could see that the offense doesn't even want to be there. Campbell doesn't have a shot. It is unwatchable football.

Hester no. I think the weems pick up is a clue. Urlacher I see coming back. I think that both management and Urlacher know that Brian fits this system very well. It's true he is not what he used to be so he has to be realistic to what his market value is. With briggs along side him his deficiencies in the speed department are covered up. Also with his knee, I doubt that there are too many teams that want to risk it. Where else will able to sit out training camp to rest his knee. Wherever else he goes he will need the reps to get acclimated to his new team. With his condition and the procedure he had last summer not taking as expected, more non-game reps increases his inflammation and decreases his ability to play. If he signs with the bears for a reasonable price both he and management will know that it is his last contract. He can skip training camps and most weekly practices as he is doing and prolong his career. The bears can slowly get his replacement up to speed and Brian can retire a bear.
