  1. I think if Wentz is there, they will draft him. I believe he is the only prospect worthy of a high pick(potential). I think Goff and Lynch are 2nd and 3 rd picks but will be evaluated because of the NFL QB issues.

With football, the past is a measuring stick for future play but odds are not in Fortes favor going forward. History always repeats itself. I think he slowly tappers on, this next year he will be ok, but not what he use to be. You get rid of people one year before not one year after and that is the nature of the NFL. This is building for 2 to 3 years from now, not this year. Realism has to be part of the plan. Who will be relevant in 2 or 3 years from now? Forte would not have been. Bennett is a hit, but keeping him and having him hold out would not do this team any favors and he will hold out if retained. All that does it build a bigger wall going forward. Fox wants team players here and Bennett is on his own plane. Bushrod was no longer contributing. I think Massie is the same type of player that is healthy. An average vet that has some game. The difference is he is in his prime, not on the tail end of a career.
  3. I totally agree with you and Lawson is one of the top 3 rated OLBs. McPhee is a good player but should only be your 2nd leading sacker on a team and then you have something.
  4. Here is some highlights on Hicks http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/vid...58-0a01bc292ee7
  5. Another DE we could get cheap, Jared Click/6-4 and 285 had 48 ts last year with two sacks ,FF and 2 PDs. Although I think Ego come back and plays well after injury.
  6. Green is gone but he is riding high these days with knowledge I would say there is a good chance we may bring back Montgomery if they do not think Grassu is quite strong enough yet
  7. Don't get to loud, Alaska is watching, he only wants us to sign all pros, good football players apparently isn't enough
  8. Dandy downer when good news is happening, lighten up, if you look at every WR in the league there is misses, try to imagine two huge DEs down your throat and you get the throw off
  9. ILB----check(two) Freeman and Trevathan OL----check right tackle Massie CB----check Porter DE....check Hicks now we need a safety another CB a TE I would like Walter Thurmond here..can play CB or S if not settle for David Burton or Rahim Moore if not Thurmond at CB then Patrick Robinson Scott Chandler at TE.. a good blocker that has some catch ability
  10. actually Chicago Bears twitter account with the first to post the news, then it was Greg Gabriel, he knew someone in the room
  11. The guy is a huge man, you stick him with Goldman and a wall starts to get built
  12. two year deal, about frickin time
  13. The other thing is beside the upgrade in play they are both leader types, plus what they mean to the efficiency of the defense.
  14. I think they know a stud would add so much to this offense. Would be happy with that pick. Think what Gurley added to St Louis with no QB.
  15. WR is probably the only position we wont be looking at. To much invested in WR to add another.
  16. Apparently they dont feel the same way. I think they still want one more back and do the RBC thing, Forte is on the downslide, they want a big body to pound the other teams, and he aint that.
  17. Just seen where we offered Gersham a 4 year deal and he choose to go back to AZ on a 1 year deal because the money wasnt as good as he wanted. Seen where we actually offered CJ Anderson more money than he is getting from Miami but he wanted to play for Gase, the guy he feels responsible for his success in Den
  18. One down, now we should go after Scott Chandler. better blocker and has had success as a pass catcher.
  19. First of all he started in 2013 in NO. he had 56 ts and 4.5 sacks. secondly Fairly is two years older than Hicks. to compare that to the best 5T in the league 64 ts and 12 sacks. He isn't chump change. Fairly last years stats: 29 ts, 1/2 sack . Fairly has never had over 35 tackles in a year Fairly's best year for sacks was 6 Fairly is smaller, slower and older, less productive. bad comparison.
  20. Actually that report was false. If you look at Jets website , he is not listed in transactions. It is not an oversite. If you go to Jets beat writers, one lady reported that the deal is not done yet. It was reported on twitter was latter shown that was incorrect.
  21. If we fill all of our general needs in FA, with his old coach here, I can see where they would take EZ. You have to have more than one RB, so Langford would never be a waste. If EX makes us get to a SB quicker, Im all in. As far as a QB, I see us only taking Wentz, if he is there. I dont think Goff or Lynch have as much upside to be picked that high.
  22. First of all , if he signs , it will be a team friendly deal. He is a big body, with potential entering his prime. It gives us more flexibility in the draft and at other need spots. I think personally that Ferguson ends up being a decent player, so it is always about getting the team better. With Fangio here, he will max out a players ability which adds to his upside. We will definity draft one so that would leave our DL, Goldman, Ferguson, Unrein, Hicks? and rookie impact player. That puts us in much better than last year. He is still in Chicago, so I would say he is considering signing but probably has his agent checking out Detroit's offer to see if he needs to just do it.
  23. He is just a guy, if something comes along better, his one year deal is going away. If he is the worst WR on you team, probably not that bad.
  24. I think if we can get Hicks. Maybe throw in a Miller coming back and a little Patrick Robinson/CB. Then David Burton, we have open BPA at #11
  25. He is a very good player, kinda Lance Briggs to Urlacher was. (obviously speaking of Trevathan) Very solid and both are at good prices.
