The other thing is beside the upgrade in play they are both leader types, plus what they mean to the efficiency of the defense.
-
I think they know a stud would add so much to this offense. Would be happy with that pick. Think what Gurley added to St Louis with no QB.
-
WR is probably the only position we wont be looking at. To much invested in WR to add another.
-
Apparently they dont feel the same way. I think they still want one more back and do the RBC thing, Forte is on the downslide, they want a big body to pound the other teams, and he aint that.
-
Just seen where we offered Gersham a 4 year deal and he choose to go back to AZ on a 1 year deal because the money wasnt as good as he wanted. Seen where we actually offered CJ Anderson more money than he is getting from Miami but he wanted to play for Gase, the guy he feels responsible for his success in Den

One down, now we should go after Scott Chandler. better blocker and has had success as a pass catcher.
-
First of all he started in 2013 in NO. he had 56 ts and 4.5 sacks. secondly Fairly is two years older than Hicks. to compare that to the best 5T in the league 64 ts and 12 sacks. He isn't chump change. Fairly last years stats: 29 ts, 1/2 sack . Fairly has never had over 35 tackles in a year Fairly's best year for sacks was 6 Fairly is smaller, slower and older, less productive. bad comparison.

Actually that report was false. If you look at Jets website , he is not listed in transactions. It is not an oversite. If you go to Jets beat writers, one lady reported that the deal is not done yet. It was reported on twitter was latter shown that was incorrect.

If we fill all of our general needs in FA, with his old coach here, I can see where they would take EZ. You have to have more than one RB, so Langford would never be a waste. If EX makes us get to a SB quicker, Im all in. As far as a QB, I see us only taking Wentz, if he is there. I dont think Goff or Lynch have as much upside to be picked that high.
-
First of all , if he signs , it will be a team friendly deal. He is a big body, with potential entering his prime. It gives us more flexibility in the draft and at other need spots. I think personally that Ferguson ends up being a decent player, so it is always about getting the team better. With Fangio here, he will max out a players ability which adds to his upside. We will definity draft one so that would leave our DL, Goldman, Ferguson, Unrein, Hicks? and rookie impact player. That puts us in much better than last year. He is still in Chicago, so I would say he is considering signing but probably has his agent checking out Detroit's offer to see if he needs to just do it.
-
He is just a guy, if something comes along better, his one year deal is going away. If he is the worst WR on you team, probably not that bad.
-
I think if we can get Hicks. Maybe throw in a Miller coming back and a little Patrick Robinson/CB. Then David Burton, we have open BPA at #11
-
He is a very good player, kinda Lance Briggs to Urlacher was. (obviously speaking of Trevathan) Very solid and both are at good prices.
-
If we end up getting Hicks we could end up taking a OT at 11 (Stanley and Decker). There is depth at DL this year, so going OT in the first would be huge upgrade and still have time to rebuild D.
-
For sure, he should play at a high lever for 3 or 4 years, and maybe this puts us in line to draft Jaylon Smith in round 3 or 4 and the future would look bright.
-
There looking for money, you get two teams bidding against each other it adds to the pie. He is cool, everyone condemning it needs to listen to the tape.
-
A backup but we need the depth somewhere. Hope that lock down Hicks, would make for a good offseason.
-
Finally got one deal done, lets hope for Hicks and Gresham.
-
I think most of what we sign from here out is Porter types that look for a prove it deal to get a contract like Porter received this year. Hopefully we get lucky and some of those surface.
-
We still have some decent names out there to sign but the reality is there still hunting for good money. I think Hicks, Freeman, and Gersham leave town without contracts. I dont think going forward we will be over paying for FAs. We knew they were after Tev but Massie was a surprise pick. He is average but improves our OL never the less. DL- names left to chase Hicks Fairly Crick Knighton Jerkins ( heard that deal is not done yet) OLB Upshaw Coples Galette Neal S Weddles Burton Moore R Johnson Thurmond ILB SMC ( I hope not) Freeman Brown Davis Laurinaitis Carter CB Robinson Moore Boykin Hayward Sensabaugh TE Gersham Miller Cook Chandler Housler Cumberland The reality of FA is we may not get who we want
-
I seen were Zack Brown and Demario Davis have been contacted for visits.
-
Anybody still out there now are looking for money or they would have signed already. I think we are probably offering a 3 year 10 mil contract to someone and there all looking for 5 mil a year. I dont think we are going to throw money at any remaining FAs, it bargin shopping at our price. I see the chance some of those names slipping out of town. If we go by last year, one player got paid, two got decent money and the rest were low end. We already have spent those contracts. I suspect with more money available we may have a few more left. It would be nice to sign Hicks and Freeman but odds are they leave town without contracts looking for more money.

If we fill most of our needs in FA, there is a real possibility for us to go with edge rusher, but it wont be Floyd. I prefer Shaq Lawson if we do that but Noah Spence is rated high at OLB. Mort than likely it will be a choice between Robinson/DT or Jared Reed his teammate at Ala. I think Ragland is still in play if we dont bring in another ILB. At that point in the draft, I think Ramsey, Buckner, Bosa and Jack are all gone, so if we go defense, those are the names we will choose from. The possibility exists we draft a OT at that spot.

I heard the interview with former packer James Jones baiting him and things were taken out of context. If you can find it listen to it, was not out of line with comments.

That report is not true, he left town without a deal.
