There is no way our first round pick is a depth player. We now have a luxury of drafting an impact player with our first pick. If he has his shit together Emery will draft a good if not great player that will contribute his first year and become a blue chip player in the next couple of years.
Thats what I was thinking too. Jared will get 2 years worth of snaps over 3 years. They will be smart with his time. There will be plenty of reps for all the DEs. Houston will play a lot of DT and everybody will be happy. I had to work 10 hours today so I am late to the party. I am willing to go out on a limb and say we are a top 10 in sacks this year. When they have our top rush line out then you leash a SMC on a rush and we start to kick ass. Our first pick in the draft will be a BPA type and Emery could go anywhere with that pick. I suspect it will be a S or CB, and maybe a DT. We still have needs everywhere but he will take the impact player we need and it could be anywhere. I personally would like to trade down in the 20's and keep the name Hageman on you mind because he is exactly the type of player he will draft if we move down.
There are still a few names out there(TE) and I would not doubt that at all. Daniels,Keller,Scheffler. The more I think about it the more we have a few signings left instead of one big one with the extra money we got from The Bank of Cutler.
I think Hester did a good job last year, but he is not a 3 mil a year guy as some people purpose on here. The rule changes have made him ineffective on KRs anymore and on punts he makes to many fair catches and lets the ball drop to much. Just not the player he use to be and you have to ask u what thats worth. Obviously not much to us. Hope he does gets one more TD but he doesnt do it in bunches anymore, just not worth 3 mil.
What about a 5-2 with Houston moving inside and and Bostic or SMC moving to a hand on the ground in some rush packages. With the new coaches they got and versatile players, there going to show many different looks.
Im sure almost any QB in league always thinks he should be a #1 until the reality hits that their not as good as they think they are. One reason they brought up Sanchez and us is Matt Cavaugh(spelled that wrong) was his QB coach from 2007 until 2011. A connection.
I agree, he is not the player he use to be. The key to this discussion is how well who they replace him with.If he does well the conversation will be over with, if he is not very good, we will here from Jason all season.
We need to remember Josh McCown wasnt anything special until last year, so the system and Trestman had something to do with it. We can find another one to take his place.
I like Matt Miller but seen where last year PFF had him rated as the 16th best safety. Forgot who but someone had him rated as the 15th best FA this year.I think , if we sign him he would start along side Mundy. Although I agree he seems more of a SS, but need to check him out more.
They got Mundy with the intent of him starting, but at a low salary for two years they would allow a SS to develop as a later pick. If we get Clemons he is a above average safety and doubt if we go safety in the first two rounds. More like a CB and DT.
