  1. I actually am liken Bucannon more than HaHa at this point, I am subject to change thou. Would love if we got him.
  2. I not sure where you pulled this from. We get in some heated discussions on here but they are football oriented not dwelling on social issues. I think it would be best to keep social issues on some political blogs and keep this one related to Bears football. I dont come on here to discuss politics, religion, and social issues, so as Bowling stated it , if you wish to discuss those issues go some where else and leave this to the mindless topics of football. If Sam gets drafted by the Bears, lets discuss how he plays football and leave the rest of the story for a different place.
  3. I dont know if Rodgers is gay or not but fact it has been questioned tickles me to death with some of the bonehead Packers fans I know. It kills them to think that is possible.

Good insight in that article. It seems to me this Bears regime seems to be more secure with there information as previous heads. They have surprised us with there picks the last two years, some good some bad, but they sure do make it interesting to watch.
  5. I enjoy the draft and all that it brings in the off season and I have less to do. I too like to find who I think are good prospects and who the Bears need. Start by one player I have taken to is Bucannon/S/Wash St I have looked at everything I could find out about him. He seems to have football instincts, physical, and was a productive player in college. He goes anywhere from upper second to lower 3rd. If we could grab him in the third, I would be elated. Presuming we dont go with HaHa or Pryor as a first round pick.
  6. You always seem to say the right thing. I agree with on your comments. I guess someone may not know (when is the right time) but maybe he thinks transparency is a good thing before entering the next step in his life. He will get attention from this and maybe his agent suggested this to create a buzz with him. I think if he does well at the combine, he will be drafted at about the same spot he would have anyways. Its hard to put yourself in someone elses shoes, so I wont try. The NFL is just a meat market anyways, it takes on a different light in his case.
  7. thats why I think Emery will be putting us in the position to grab the BPA scenario.
  8. I have a sarcastic sense of humor,I think Kiper is all fluff. He has interesting things to say sometimes, but is rarely right on predictions.
  9. I think we have one fairly good size contract in the offseason but the rest will be lower profile choices. I think we bring back Wooten but still need one. I think the one big one will be a DE along with the cutting of Peppers, this is highly probably. Choices: M. Bennett,L. Houston,M. Johnson, Hardy,Orakpo. I think Hardy and Orakpo will cost too much but we have a shot at the other 3. So I think Bennett and Houston will be the targets. Lower profile targets: Willie Young/DE/formally Detroit Mike Neal/DE/GB Everett/DE/Minn I like Willie Young, a up and comer Others I like: C. McDonald/DT/Sea----very solid player P. Sims/DT/Oak----------has decent upside T. Cody/DT/Balt----------if past his injuries could be a very good player D. Bishop/MLB/Minn------ a good player E. Henderson/MLB/Min----has some off field issues but can play D.J Williams/MLB/----------I think they probably bring him back on a prove it contract T. Brown/CB/SF-------------He can play but lost his job to Brock C. Grahman/CB/Bal--------Still under 30 and is a decent starter type. S. Brown/S/NYG------------Had injuries last year but is a young good player H.Abdullah/S/Chiefs.........the kid can play I think we can add some good upgrades without spending big money. Hope we can get a few of those listed.
  10. Even if they bring back those I mentioned, I still then we inject some youth at the line and still draft a DT and DE in the first 4 rounds.
  11. I agree where ever he lands he will be a sideshow. People are who there are and what ever makes them happy so be it. Im sure the NFL will accept him. Hell we accept SCS everyday.
  12. Actually I think your smarter than Kiper, he has more charisma thou. I think we bring back Melton, Wooten, and Ratcilff, so its not as dire as you might state. Plus I think our one big FA acquisition will be a DE. So I am also for the best Defensive player, even if its not a DT or DE.
  13. I agree with you to a point. If there is a LB,S, and DL all rated together probably have to draft DL. What if Jake Mathews (top 3 player) drops in our lap at 14?An all pro type for the next 10 years would be hard to pass up. I think we should take the highest rated Defensive player on the board. Other than Clowney, Barr, and Mack we should get the pick of the litter. What we need is an impact player, if thats Ealy, Ha Ha, Donald, or Mosley, who they identify as that person is the one it needs to be. Also, we need some defensive leaders on the team, so that probably would be Ha Ha or Mosley, and wouldnt have any problem with either one of them. Nix is rated high on a lot of draft boards but the injury thing bothers me with him. Mosley is consistently rated as a top 10 player, and would lean towards him. Ealy has some developing to do,so I dont think he would make an impact his first year. Hageman and Tuitt didnt have good production years, so dont think they would be an impact the first year. Donald will be a lower 1st round rated player, but I do think he would make an impact his first year. So I think our pick will be one of these 4, Ealy,HaHa,Donald or Mosley.Mosley would be the highest rated and probably be able to be our team leader for the next 10 years, so I still lean towards him.
  14. NFL Mock draft website did a thumbnail on Bears picks. 1-Ealy/DE 2-Quarles/DT 3-Jean Baptiste/CB 4-Brooks/FS 5-Larsen/OC 6-Urban/DT 6-Neal/RB I would be happy if we got that draft. Also they had a draft with trades. They had us trade with the Jets and got 14th pick for 18th pick and pick 80 and a 7th rounder. 18-Jernigan/DT 51-Bucannon/SS 80-Quarles/DT 82-Skov/MLB They had an article for FAs and they had us getting Clinton McDonald/DT/Seahawks. He is a good player.
  15. We need to find an impact defensive player in the first round and two starters for the defense in the 2nd and 3rd round. Later rounds could find us a OC to groom to take Garzas place.
  16. I think that draft pick would be there if we dont resign Melton, then he would take his place.
  17. I think instead of having the exact picks teams has, it is more about identifying the top 32 players and some are pretty accurate with that.
  18. We only have two drafts to judge by but what we do know. He sees the same team we do and has addressed weaknesses. Grant you, bad miss on the first year , kudos to last year's first round draft. He like athletes. So the next guy will be all of that. He addressed WR and TE bringing us Marshall and Bennett, and drafting Jeffery, so I think he attacks the fixing of the defense the same way. First round grades on defensive players. I used Rob Rangs big board from NFL Draft Scout for this scenario. 1-Clowney/DE 4-Mack/OLB 7-Barr/OLB 9-Mosley/ILB 11-Denard/CB 14-Tuitt/DE 19-Ford/DE-OLB 21-Gilbert/CB 22-Hageman/DE 23-Jernigan/DT 24-Shazier/OLB 25-Ealy/DE 26-Pryor/S 27-Verrett 28-Ha Ha/S 30-Donald 31-Roberson/CB 32-Van Noy/OLB So I think our choice will be one of the above. I think 1-4-7 will be gone so our choice will be addressed out the most athletic of the rest of the first round. If we go by highest rated and athletic that would be Mosley-Denard-Tuitt-Gilbert-Hageman I think in FAgency he will bring back Melton,Wooten,Ratcliff, Bowman,DJ Williams and will cut Peppers I also think that he could address DE in FAgency so that would change all assumptions and may just go with highest rated defensive player which would be Mosley. So for our most glaring needs will probably be Truitt or Hageman. I think he will address pass rush that would have the most impact so: Truitt/Hageman/ and throw in Ealy, these will be one of our first picks. All are physical specimens, and address our pass rush, which will be a priority to Phil. If he surprises us and he capable of that, possibly Donald or Pryor would fill that bill.
  19. If you look at how the draft breaks down, you have a better chance of getting a good DT in the second round than you do a impact DE. If we figure on grabbing a 3-T type tackle past the first round, I figure Donald and Jernigan will go in first round. Sutton, Quarles,Easley,Johnson, Reid all fit that profile to play the 3-T After the top 3 DEs go, Clowney,Tuitt and Ealy it drops off quite a bit. Productive college DEs I like are Murphy, Smith, Jeffcoat, and Crichton. Not sure of who would be 2nd round picks.
  20. Turnovers is probably the one stat that consistently matters in a game.Whoever wins the TO battle usually wins the game.
  21. I read an article where the pre combine mock drafts which included Kiper and McShays drafts, are right .025 %. So much for experts.
  22. Its seems so easy for some to divide there loyalty. For me Im stuck on Bears.
  23. The point I was trying to make was, if he cost 8 mil. we wont be chasing him. I agree when it comes to productive players, that should count more. Jernigan-54-10 and 1/2-4.5.............6-2 292-5.00 Donald-59-28 and a 1/2-11.............6-1 288-5.00 Ill take the productive guy over the potenial.
  24. Former NFL scouts with draft sites GBND Draft Countdown Matt Miller writes for Bleacher Report Our Lads has good information on it.
  25. I would have no problem if we got him. He may have the biggest impact of any DT in this years draft. Why not us.
